Beautiful cobalt decorated stoneware crock. It has fabulous decoration which looks like leaves on a vine. It also looks like hearts. It is marked on the ... morefront and I believe it to say West Troy Pottery. It measures 7.5 tall and 8 inches across the top. It has a couple of OLD chips on the front and a couple of very small flea bites on one ear. There is also a tight crack on one side. There are lots pf pictures. None of this distracts from the appearance. This stoneware crock is not in mint condition so if you are wanting mint please don't bid. This is an old utilitarian piece and used as such. All sales are final. Insurance is included in my shipping charge. If it seems high. Please don't bid. I have this packed professionally and shipped ups so it gets there in one piece. Ask questions before you bid as I do not accept returns. Thanks for looking and good luck. Posted with.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fv%7F.rpn36%3E-13ced24df8f-0x103-

This authentic vintage blue and white stenciled wildflower salt box crock is still very much functional today and can be placed on countertops or butcher ... moreblocks or hung on a country farmhouse kitchen wall. The original stencil is in excellent vintage condition, as is the salt glaze, however there are some age related imperfections such as small chips in the glaze, with a couple of dime-sized spaces on the underside (please see photos for details). William Rogers contacted his brother Asa who had a shop in Granby Connecticut. In 1842, their partnership produces silver plated flatware of such a high quality that they soon captured the market from coin silver and tinplate. The name Rogers Brothers became a household word. The Rogers Brothers bought blanks from Reed and Barton and Meriden Brittania and plated them. As the plating technique was a carefully guarded secret. Reed& Barton hired away the star plater D. Being synonymous with quality, was copycatted by many firms. At one point there were 4 companies that called themselves Rogers Brothers and the real Rogers Brothers sued as they tried to protect their name. The Rogers Brothers were busy. William Rogers left the original Rogers Brothers Manufacturing Company in 1856. Partnering with George W Smith. He formed the Rogers and Smith Company of Hartford and New Haven. In 1858. The other two brothers forms Rogers and Brother in Waterbury, Connecticut. The Meridian Britannia Company watched the success of the Rogers Brothers closely. VTG. Antique SALT crock, stoneware cellar, box, ceramic pottery KITCHEN wall bin!
Wonderful! This salt box harkens back to an earlier day. When every item in the kitchen was revered and appreciated! This lovely salt cellar is a real beaut. And the real deal. It is of a design I have never seen before, with flat corners, and a hand painted plaid pattern. It measures 5" wide, 4-3/4" tall, and 3-3/4" deep(sides) It is my understanding that a salt box would hold one pound of salt. The lid is wood, and is hinged-still holds secure! On the bottom of the bin it is marked"MADEIN JAPAN" and likely dates from the late 20's to the 30's. It is vintage to be sure, and has some age stains and glaze crazing. No cracks or chips, and the colors are still bright! Feel free to supersize the photos to see all of the details. The salt box was designed to either sit on a shelf or table, to hang up on the wall-or ... moreabove the stove, where the salt remained dry and handy. This would be wonderful sitting on the table in your vintage styled kitchen(and holding salt! or would be equally at home hanging on the wall with recipes or anything you choose. A bit of history, and a charming kitchen accent! If you have any questions. Don't hesitate to ask, and I will be glad to help you out. Make sure and click on the"see more services" under the shipping, just so you can find the least expensive option for shipping! I would be more than happy to combine shipping for you! It has a picture of a shield with a 5 leaf clover or flower on it with the number 10. It will be packed well and marked fragile glass before shipping. STONEWARE BLUE DECORATED CROCK BY COWDN OF HARRISBURG, PA - VINTAGE 1881-1888
Thank you for your interest in our auction of an ANTIQUE BLUE DECORATED. HANDLED, STONEWARE CROCK BY F. H. COWDEN OF HARRISBURG, PA. VINTAGE 1881-1888. This is a used item, that has been in my family from the beginning, in the 1880s, passed down from my great grandmother. It is still in fine condition. There are no cracks any where on it. There are two points on the bottom of the crock that my be chips out of it, or it may be that they were manufacturing flaws, but in any case, as can be seen in our photos, they are insignificant faults, and would have no effect on the use of the crock. What's more, they are on the bottom of the crock, where they wouldn't even be seen in normal usage. The crock is glazed both outside and inside, and there doesn't seem to be any crazing any where on the crock, inside or outside, that I have seen. ... moreFrom research that I have recently done on this crock, I have been happily surprised to learn that this piece representing the stoneware produced by the Cowden family of Harrisburg, PA, the capital city of Pennsylvania, is or was among the most highly collected stoneware in the nation. I am under the impression that the blue decoration and the salt glaze used by these producers was something new and important to the production of stoneware. This crock measures approximately 9-1/2 inches high, 9-1/4 inches across the top, 10 inches across the widest part and 7 inches across the base. If you become the winning bidder on more than one of my auctions. Contact me, and we will try to combine your purchases to reduce your overall shipping costs. The shipping charges below include insurance and delivery confirmation. But they are for the contiguous 48 states, only. Buyers from other areas will need to contact us to learn the charges to their area. Our goal is customer satisfaction. So we try to accurately describe our items. VERY LARGE BROWN CROCK LID WITH KNOB. 12 1/4" DIAMETER,STONEWARE POTTERY
This auction is for a huge crock lid. It is in very good condition. I don't know if it is a very old item that was stored under protection all this time. Or if it is a fairly new item. I don't even know if they still make lids for crocks. Anyway- it is large, measuring 12 1/4" across. And is heavy, weighing almost 4 pounds! There are a few little spots on the top that look like there must have been a bubble in the pottery when it was made, and the bubbles popped and left a little hole. And there are a couple spots on the underside that look like another type of flaw when it was made. Just a little scrape spot. None of these little flaws should hinder someone from purchasing, since, I would imagine that there are any of these types of products without something like this. Bye the look of the underside rim, I believe it was hand-finished. ... moreI am adding an extra pound for packing material. For safety reasons, but, if I don't need it, I will refund the difference after packing it. The picture listing section on ebay seems to be having problems today. So, I'm sorry about the poor quality pictures, and the pictures that are sideways. But, I can't fix them at this time. Sorry. If you have any questions. Please feel free to contact me. Check out my! Be sure to add me to your! We add a small packing and handling fee(usually.50 cents to 75 cents for inside the US. And $1.00 for international packages) We have to add this to offset the high cost of our fees on ebay and the fees that Paypal charges us just for using Paypal. Sometimes we have overestimated your shipping costs, or we can pack your items lighter than we anticipated; and in those instances, we usually will send you a refund via paypal. We try to pack your items securely so they do not get damaged. But, there have been a couple cases where the item gets broken in transit. If this should happen, we would appreciate it if you would please contact us to let us know of your troubles. We will try to work with you to solve any problems that arise

Antique large # 4 [4 Gallon] Glazed Butter Churn Crock/Pottery w Lid+Dasher
This is neat Antique Crock/Pottery# 4[4 gallon size] Butter Churn. I think for it's age it is in good condition but being very old it does have some chips from use and a hairline crack in the glaze on one side-see pics. This little crack does not go into the Crock. Only the glaze. I tried to get pics from all angles so that you can see exactly what you will be getting. This Churn also includes the Crock/Pottery Lid and the Wood Dasher. So If you are satisfied with your purchase please leave Feedback with a 5* rating and if you have any Issues please contact me before leaving any negative.
