We continue offering items from a consignment that have been in a Southwestern New Hampshire family for years. As we have now discovered, back into the first half of the 19th century. My consignor explains; To the best of my knowledge my family were primarily farmers in Dublin. NH. There were several generations living on the farms at the same time. Farm income was supplemented by various means. Hiriam Carey was the Dublin carriage driver for Mark Twain and my Grandmother was a seamstress who also made costumes for the likes of Amelia Earhart and Joseph Linden Smith during their stays in Dublin. I am absolutely a beginner when it comes to military items, but I did some research on military button symbols and back stamps. I believe some to be antique according to what I read. Photos will be the best way to view condition. I will point out anything that stands out in addition to age wear. Metal:most appear to be brass or gold tone- five"great seal" are copper. Items included: Dog tag?1) circular. Flat disc measuring 1 1/16" diameter w/Ed Folgo imprinted on one side- I believe brass. Stars(10) 1) one silver tone star w/screw post; this one stands out in lot and not even sure it's vintage(2) two small stars attached to green felt disc- the back is a disc that screws on and has a serated edge(6) appears to be brass.figural star w/screw post- measures front to back 7/8"s. 1) one flat star w/center opening; probably brass- not sure what this is for.
