Antique Buttons, Glass, Painted, Victorian, Fabric Inspired, Matching Set
These buttons are a muted black glass. No shine. They are painted with a lacey edge effect to look like flowers. In the late 1800s, many glass buttons were painted to resemble the fabrics of the time. The shanks are all 4-way box. There are no chips. But the paint is worn in spots and 2 have some coating on the back, but they are in decent condition for their age. Look at photos SIZE: 21mm Note Items are vintage. Therefore there may be minor discoloration, chips, dents or scratches, due to age. PLEASE look at photos. If the item in is excellent condition, I will state so in description.

Antique (8- GAR) Grand Army of the Republic Domed Uniform Buttons
Up for bid are Eight(8) Antique(GAR) Grand Army of the Republic Brass Buttons. Each button measures 9/16ths of an inch in diameter by 5/16ths of an inch from front to back.not including back sewing loop. The backs have a silvertone type metal and the fronts are brass. The button tops are domed with smooth metal edges and lined domes with the fancy"GAR" initials embossed on the front tops. Some of the buttons still have their original brass rings attached to the button hole on back. None of the buttons are signed. These buttons are still in nice condition. There are no dings or dents. The brassy metal has dull areas and the silvertone backs have grayed from age. None of the buttons have been cleaned or polished as I was not sure how to do so safely.
