The secretary has an amazing custom cut beveled mirror with a 1-inch bevel, that is on the top at the right side and lovely carved details and applied accents all throughout. The backing on the mirror is a bit loose, but this should be an easy fix. The piece is lockable, however, there is no key with it. It also has the original metal hardware, which is absolutely incredible and ornate as well. There is a lot of light staining and wear as well as scratches and dings to the finish.

The front doors are covered with gathered French country style fabric, which can be removed so that you can see the interior through the glass. The lock is in working condition, complete with the key. The bibliotheque measures about 59” at the widest point and about 20 ¾” deep. It stands up about 63 ½” tall and the top surface can be used as a shelf, displaying collectable items. Very heavy, solid and well built item. We were using it in our office for files and fabric samplers and it is hard to find a bookcase which will fit oversized files and provide such great access as this item does. Which comprises of a pair of flame mahogany veneered raised and fielded panel doors with rope twist decoration around the edges and the same applied roundel motifs that feature on the top on each corner. Be sure to add me to your! This PRIMITIVE. SOLID WALNUT 3 SHELF BOOKCASE came from a Century Farm in Missouri. It was put together from other pieces. All 1800's vintage, and is a myriad of styles. The sides probably came from sides of a mantle, or possibly a tall chest, with Empire influence; the back is wainscoating, the shelves have intricate carvings on their face; and the top might be original to this piece. The shelf carvings are of leaves and lattice. There are extra supports to the front of the sides. It is a very heavy piece. Antique Art Metal Stacking Bookcase Machine Age Industrial 3 Section
Great stacking bookcase circa 1940 from the machine age start of the midcentury modern period. It has a sticker on the top front that reads ART METAL JAMESTOWN? NEW YORK USA- Bookcase is metal but original finish is made to look like mahogany. As you can see one window needs replaced and there is some wear to the finish and spotty rust spots but overall very presentable. No dents. Both top and bottom remove leaving 3 matching stackable sections. Doors work nicely. Overall size is 52" tall by 32 3/4' wide by 18" deep plus a little additional for the knobs. Broken down each section is about 15" tall plus another 3/8" indented section for the next stack to fit on. We are pleased to offer this great Victorian bookcase. The maker of this is unknown to us. This is not a reproduction. The bookcase has been refinished and restored with a new back and two shelfs. It was finished in a honey color. This is made from either maple or cherry under the stain. This has carved designs above the glass panels on the doors. The top has a broken scroll style pediment backsplash with carved and applied acanthus leaf design. The doors have their original wavy glass and the original key as well. This stands 59.5" high and has a width of 35" with a depth of 11 7/8" The inside dimensions are as follows: 44.5"H x 31.75"W x 9.75" D(with the door closed) The front of the bookcase shows ball style feet with a straight square foot in the back. The dimensions of each of the four adjustable, removable, fluted front shelves are 14 ¼” in depth by 46 ¾” in length. The original fancy carved top gallery is completely intact. Removable for shipping purposes, and provides the perfect backdrop for displaying your favorite items on top. This fancy carved top gallery consists of foliate carved scrolls, a center carved egg medallion, raised horizontal burl panels, scroll-carved sides, and shell-scalloped finials ... moreon the shoulders. Up for auction is an early oak secretary that is 75 1/4" tall. 42" wide at the base and 13 1/2" deep. The old secretary is in great condition and looks to have been professionally refinished in the past few years. The piece has 2 bevelled mirros, one measures 7 1/2" X 15 3/8" and the other measures 11 1/2" X 15 3/8" both mirrors are original with some normal wear on the silver and some scratches. The piece has beautiful leaf carvings on the top and on the secretary door. The piece has a very detailed carving of a face on the top and there is also a carved griffin head on each side near the top. The carving on top also has a few age cracks. The piece has a bookcase on one side that has a bow glass door. There are 4 shelves inside and each are adjustable. We scuffed down the old finish and re-sprayed it to bring out the beautiful luster of the rich black walnut patina from the 1880s, and left it pretty much like it was. It has the teardrop pulls on the bottom, and the glass appears to be the old wavy glass, at least on one of the doors. It has three adjustable shelves behind the double doors, and burl walnut accent panels on the outside edges across the header of the crown molded top. It’s a petite little bookcase, measuring only 50 inches across, 16 inches deep at the base, and the bookcase section is 12.5 inches deep, and it is 61 inches high. It’s a great-looking bookcase. The beautiful walnut bookcase sits on a base with two bottom burl walnut front drawers and a side compartment with a burl walnut paneled door. The bookcase is completely original including the ornate brass hardware with the exception of the right side glass pane has been replaced and the maple shelves are missing. Maple or pine shelves can be made to duplicate the original shelves with a rounded front edge and finished to match the interior of the bookcase. The original wooden shelf holder inserts are shown in a photo.
