Carved Victorian Era Shelf Possibly Black Forest
Carved Corner Shelf- probably Victorian era- nicely carved- possible Black Forest? Walnut. Carved leaves and acorns. 14" tall by 8 1/4 inches wide. Condition is good- we've had for a number of years. There is a repair that was made on one of the corners of a leaf and can probably be seen on the back side of the shelf in one of the photos. It appears as a darker spot on the photo. Nice looking wall shelf. No reserve. Shipping in US only.

bronze finished iron deer stag head mounted on Black Forest plaque matching pair
Matching pair of vintage bronze finished metal deer/ stag heads mounted on carved wood plaques. The regal heads have great detail as you can see in the photos with acorns and maple leaves below the deer's neck. They are attached to a Black Forest carved wooden trophy plaque which also has acorns and maple leaves around a shield. There is a recessed hook for hanging on the back which allows them to sit flat against the wall. They each weight just over 6 pounds. Standard shipping is included for the continental USA but other arrangements can be made as well as international shipping. The overall height from bottom of wood plaque to the tip of the antlers is 16.5" and the wood wall plaque measures 8.75" wide x 11.5" high.

ThIis is a quite superb carved wooden oak corbel with the male figure carving with the base carvings of fruits& leaves of which: During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the 19th century and is of black forest origin. Has been adapted with a hole through the centre for a lamp. Certainly a quite superb relief carving of the male figure with the carried impliment in his hand. Dressed in a belted jacket. Mounted onto the central base with the suberb relief carvings to four sides of fruits. Flowers and leaves centrally. Above the head a further decorative scroll carving with the cylinder top. It has an overall height of about 18.5inches. Max depth across the arms of of about 6inches. Size of area just below the jacket of about 4.75 x 4.5inches. Base size of about 2.25 x 2.5inches. Rare. Animated Black Forest cuckoo(cookoo, kookoo) clock has a king with his court(priests? and trumpeter's on either side. Approximate size: 15” tall x 11-1/2” wide. Clock is crafted in Germany. By E. Schmeckenbecher. The clock runs well and keeps good time. At the top of each hour the bell rings for the number of the hour. Then the music box plays the Westminster chimes while the men circle around the king. At the bottom of each hour the bell rings once. The clock's case has some minor paint wear and flaking. I'm not too familiar with clock. The only thing I can tell that is missing seems to be the right trumpeter’s left arm(please see photos. Other than that. Things that I noticed about the clock is- 1 of the chains appear to be missing, the weights are missing, and the roof has damage on the front as seen in 1 of photos. They are in good condition with no chips. Cracks. One glass has a rough edge on one side as shown& one of the glasses has a lighter spot possibly from a bubble as shown. There are a few minor scratches. Four still have the labels attached& some still have the label residue on them. When held to the light, they have a purple hue. Antique Hand Carved Brush and Dust Pan Black Forest Edelweiss
This is an useful item. But an extraordinary set! Let me start with the dust pan. 9 1/4" across x 8 5/8" tall and all carved from one piece of wood. It has a decorative twist handle that is carved too. There are a couple missing nicks around the edge, but it is old(great patina) and wood does splinter. These are old nicks, not recent. The inside of the pan is carved with three flowers that look like edelweiss to me. Which reminds me of Sound of Music so I put them at Germany/Austria, a bit earlier, maybe when Mother Superior was a girl. The background of the flowers even has a patterned carve. You have to hold this to appreciate. It weighs 4 oz. and the back is smooth(see pic.4) The brush is wonderful. 12" long x 3" across x 1 5/8" w/bristles, 5/8" for just the wood. It is carved with the same 3 Edelweiss flowers, ... moreand a double twisted handle. At first I thought it one piece of wood, but I believe that this is two pieces together because of the bristles having to be attached to the handle. The wood on the front of the brush is separating slightly and goes back to the end of the bristles. You can just make out a faint line where they are connected. There is a bit of damage I just noticed on the end(see pic. 11) It must have been done while I was taking pictures. I will include a picture in the lineup. Brush weighs 3 oz. One of a kind set! antique box in the shape of a house. This is black forest hand carved wood. the origin is Switzerland or Germany. the house has a log roof with deep overhang, there are windows in the front of the house. the house sits on a decorative carved base. the house roof originally was on hinges that have come apart. but the roof stays on correctly because there is in a metal piece on the roof that fits into a tiny hole on the house. so it fits securely. the piece is 7 1/4 inches wide and 5 inches deep and 3 5/8 inches tall. inside the interior box it is 3 3/8 inches wide, 1 5/8 inches deep and 1 1/4 inches tall. besides the hinges this is in fairly good antique condition, minor wear. this is an original antique piece it is not a reproduction. this is for sale only within the USA. attractive and useful desk item for stamps, clips and etc.

The carving is in relief and is carved from walnut. There is a center circular carved decoration decorated also with contrasting colored inlaid wood. The table top is octagonal in shape and the edges are also decorated with contrasting inlaid wood and also a carved strip in bas relief. This is a superb 19thc Black Forest oak carved pediment with a fine figure of a running stag with orig amber glass eye to top of pediment. A most unusual and very decorative piece. The attention to carved detail on this pediment is excellent with all carving done in relief. Beneath running stag the pediment is carved as a long branch with oak leaves decorating. Dimensions: some 14.5" max height x length of some 32.5" This Black Forest pediment is in excellent age commensurate condition. ANTIQUE BLACK FOREST CARVED WOOD FIRE BELLOWS - BRASS TIP
These are beautifully carved antique Black Forest wood fire bellows. The carvings are of Roses and Leaves. There are some nicks on the ends of a couple of leaves. Which you can't really notice unless you look for them and there is a bit of broken stem- please see picture. There is also some damage to the hinged side rim with a slither of wood missing. The two paddles are held together with leather and the tip is solid brass. There are no splits in the main part of the leather, but the leather has come away from the hinge and there is also a brass rivet missing by the hinge. Measurements: 73cm from the end of the handle to the tip of the nozzle and 21cm at the widest point. The brass nozzle is 9cm long. Wonderful Black Forest carving of an owl perched on a book. Purchased in 1955. Carved by master carver Rudolf Moroder of Mayrhofen. Tyrol, Austria. The Moroder family was well known for it's high quality carvings. 7 1/2" H. I love the way that it has the pages of the book turned up. Age split to the back side and some water staining. Great dry surface. Labeled with it's history on the bottom. The initials MR carved on the plinth of the left side. Valborg and Walter Ude are major benefactors to the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

NICE OLD RARE LARGE WORKING GERMAN BLACK FOREST SIGNED 8 DAY 3 BIRD CUCKOO CLOCK
We have a large number of vintage and antique clocks currently listed along with an equally impressive collection of music boxes. Coffee grinders, and other very nice antique and vintage collectibles. Be sure to have a look at our other items! This is an outstanding find of a rare. Handcarved, working, very large 8 day cuckoo clock that was created about 40 years ago in the Black Forest of what was then, West Germany" and signed on the movement by"Emil Schmeckenbecher, one of the finest clockmakers in history! The clock is simply astonishing and features some of the finest carvings I've ever seen on a clock this size. This clock is made of cured and aged Linden wood that is grown nearly exclusively at certain altitudes of the Black Forest. The case is quite large and adorned with seven, large, hand carved wooden grape leaves ... moreon the front that are exceptional, deep, intricate, and wavy. Another carved wooden grape leaf is found on the pendulum. There is a large. Carved wooden bird on either side of the lower case looking back up at the larger, equally ornate wooden bird on the very top of the clock looking as though he's ready to take flight. The top is a separate piece connected via two clamps and the old hook and eye system in the middle of the frame. The detail is extraordinary and the finish work is very nice too! The dial has a black backdrop and features raised white Roman numerals to mark the hours and fancy matching hands to point out the time. There is an access door or cover on the right side of the case that can be removed to allow access for any adjustments that may be needed for the cuckoo mechanisms. The clock has a fitted wood back marked Germany that is secured with a metal latch. The door easily removes to allow access to the weight driven. Mechanical"Regula" movement inside the case signed by Schmeckenbecher. A weight driven movement simply means that the chains need to be pulled every 8 days or so to wind the clock and cuckoo activity. Regula makes the best movements

The item up for auction is a magnificent Black Forest 8 day cuckoo clock with music box and dancers. As you can see there is big buck at the top and at the bottom there is a doe with a fawn. All hand carved. The clock works well, the cuckoo works well; however the bell hammer comes down but doesn't reach the gong. It is 27 inches in height(not including the weights) 14 inches wide and 9 1/2 inches in depth. The cuckoo clock probably dates to the early to mid 1900's; however the movement is brand new. For sale is a wonderful example of an early German made Black Forest Cuckoo clock. I believe it is 1930- 1950 in era. It is in great shape with only mild marks of normal wear. It chimes on the quarter. Half and hour and comes with three original heavy cones and keeps excellent time without adjustment. Beautiful condition. Works, has the 2 heavy brass pine cone several lbs weights, the leaf pendulum and a blue bird cuckoo. Satisfaction guaranteed or return or refund. The clock housing itself measures 11" tall from bottom of house to peak of roof, 12" wide from rafter to rafter(roof edge) and 6" deep. The inside movement is marked made in Germany but the clock itself is made by the American Cuckoo clock co of Philadelphia. 1" thick leaves on the front and sides. Slight wear on the clock, more wear on the back, small chip on the back leaf(not visible when clock is hung) Will be packed carefully.

Up for bid is what I believe to be an antique German Black Forest cuckoo clock pendulum. I do not know its exact age. It is in excellent condition. The entire pendulum measures just over 10 inches in length from tip to tip and at its widest point it measures 3-1/2 inches. The actual wood part of the pendulum measures 4-3/4 inches in length and 3-1/2 inches in width. Sold"as is" But appears to be in very good to excellent condition. very rare antique/ primative hand carved Black Forest German plant stand. I took this piece to the antique road show 2 yrs ago. They confirmed that it was Black Forest, worth 6k to 8k. This came from a very old German estate. All intricately hand carved. Is 34" tall, 12 in diameter at the base. One foot needs to be reattached and has some minor old chips as seen in photos.
