The piece consists of wooden shelves with a metal frame that is"hanging" ... moreon a solid wooden base. Very unique and highly functional. The shelves can save to any degree between upright and table position. See photos for examples. Bakers rack is in GREAT cosmetic and structural condition for the age, and converts easily. One person can handle the conversion by loosening the wing nut on a side of the base. The interior writing surface has a pristine leather top. There are three adjustable shelves on the upper section and the inside is fitted with four drawers and a cubby. The lower section has two large and two small drawers. The upper section has veined mirror facings. There are three removable finials at the top. All 3 pieces are very solid and great candidates to have re-upholstered, enjoyed as they are"Original Silk" or throw a slip cover over. The fabric on the chairs is still intact. I believe the sun damaged the fabric on the loveseat. From the front it still looks great. Just not so much from the back and across the top. They're classic Baker and the workmanship is remarkable. This is a true modern vintage headboard. Probably from the early 1960s. It was made by Baker Furniture. Whose brand name appears on a stamped metal medallion. This piece is in good condition. And appears to be from the company's Far East Mahogany Collection. Its design is certainly oriental-inspired. And could blend into Eastern, Modern, or Vintage motifs. The headboard is in Good to Very Good condition, with minor rubs or scratches here and there, but nothing that significantly detracts from its overall appearance. Baker Furniture Company Oval Tilt Top Side Table with Inlay
This is a stunning tilt-top occasional or end table. It was manufactured in Holland Michigan by the Baker Furniture Company- known for their high end furniture production. The top is oval shaped and measures about 22.75" by 17.75" When the top is flat. The table measures about 27.5" high. The top has beautiful colors with nice inlay detailing as you can see in the photos. The table has 3 bent legs which meet at a wider turned shaft. The table top tilts when it is pulled up(there is no lever to push) When the top is up/tilted, it does not seem to stay vertical- instead, the top edge tilts forward more than the bottom. There are 2 scuffed areas on the back of the table. They are shown in the 10th and 11th pictures. Otherwise. Beautiful STYLISH pair of Hollywood Regency BAKER FURNITURE upholstered Brass armchairs. There are a few discoloration marks to the brass. But not bad at all(pictured) The upholstery is very clean, and the only flaw I see is where it tucks under the top edge of the arm(pictured) This can probably be easily fixed by unscrewing the arm pad from the underside, and glueing the fabric back in place before re attaching the arm pad. Mid Century Baker Furniture Bedroom Set Dresser Chest Drawers Light Wood Pecan ?
This auction is for a somewhat vintage mid century Baker Furniture Bedroom set. Which consists of a large dresser and a matching chest of drawers. The set is crafted from an unusual color of wood, which I think might be Pecan as it is lighter in color than most other woods and has a fine grain, somewhat similar to Walnut. The dresser has 8 full size drawers and three smaller drawers on the top. The middle drawer has only a key hole to open it while the others have matching drawer pulls. The drawers all feature dovetailed woodworking. The chest of drawers has 6 full size drawers with the top drawer featuring a lock(the key is included and taped inside of the top drawer and visible in one of the pictures) I'm uncertain if the one key works on both locks but I think they would as the key isn't a complicated design. Both pieces of furniture ... morehave glass tops that are in good shape. Both pieces feature designs created on the top by using different colored woods and grain patterns, giving a nice break from the solid color that the main furniture body has. The dresser's top left drawer features the Baker metal logo plaque on the inside. The furniture is in very nice shape but there are a few scratches and scuffs that need pointed out. There is a small square piece of veneer(about 1 inch square) that is missing along the bottom edge of the dresser, a little to the right of center. There are also a deeper scratch on the bottom right leg of the dresser and bottom left leg of the chest of drawers. These are shown in the photos. The furniture would benefit from a good cleaning and possible waxing.I'm not certain what type of cleaning or maintenance would be appropriate. Please look carefully at the photos to get a better idea of the true condition this nice old set is still in.I would guess this dates back to the 60s or early 70s. Up for bids is a magnificient peice of Baker Furniture Queen sized four poster Bed. It is solid wood and beautifully detailed. It has four tall posts and is 63" wide X 80" tall X 80" long. I am not an expert in wood but it is mahogny in color. It is a beautiful peice. There are two side peices made of wood that hold would be the outside rails and one down the middle from front to back. This is a beautiful vintage Baker Furniture Company Welsh Cupboard.this is two pieces. The shelf/plate rack section sits atop the sideboard bottom section, the two pieces are attachable in the back.This piece has three dovetailed drawers with brass handles and two shallow smaller drawers with brass pulls beneath them, the top section has three shelves with plate racks for display, as well, the top surface of the bottom sideboard section has a large surface for display/serving. Cupboard measures approximately 79" tall overall by 69" at its widest and 19 1/2" deep at the base from the back of the piece to the"knee" in the cabriole leg.The bottom section alone is about 33" tall. The top alone is about 46" tall. The top section is 10 1/4" deep overall and about 11 1/4" deep at the top molding. The ... moreback of the cupboard is painted black as can be seen in photo#9. Baker Furniture Far East dining set 8 chairs 1950s
Baker Furniture dining set from the 1950's. This appears to have the original finish and upholstery. It measures 68" x 44" with no leaves. Each leaf is 18" so it will extend to 112" x 44" It includes two captains chairs. 6 side chairs, and 3 leaves in the original Baker box. This can seat up to 12. The upholstery is a cream silk? and has no rips, tears, or worn spots. They have not been professionally cleaned so they should be especially beautiful once you have that done. I just didn't want to take the chance. This set is in very good condition with a few exceptions. I have tried to take pictures of the flaws that I can see: The table has some mild crazing to the finish and one side of the table has more fade in the finish than the other. There are 3 heat marks as pictured and some rubbing on the edges but ... moreno deep scratches. There is a small crack on the top layer of one of the leaves as pictured. There was a small piece of wood that cracked and was reglued into one captain's chair as pictured. Both captain's chair seats are sunken and one has water marks on the seat. One of the side chairs has a food mark. There are white scuff marks on some of the legs of the chairs. I know they can be removed but since I am not a professional I didn't attempt it. There is a cover for this that is felt on the bottom and a rose pattern vinyl on top. It definitely shows its age more than the rest of the set but still works for under a tablecloth.
