European Hallmarks inside bowl to right of stem includes 800 for.800 silver. Often used in Germany and area. There is a partial mark with an H in a rectangular mark, and a partial mark that looks like perhaps 3 towers or candles. We were unable to identify the marks. Although it is marked in the bowl, it looks like there is a test hash mark on the back of the stem. It's in excellent condition. This is an absolutely drop dead gorgeous hand painted artist signed. A Lutjins Dec. 25, 1921, huge art nouveau, art deco designed charger with Pickard type decoration and sold at an estate sale with a huge Pickard and Limoges collection. The border is heavy gilt enamel with a black enamel line outlining the edge. THere is a wide border painted in light blue with pink apple blossoms between each of the three swallow tailed butterflies. A very very few minor scratches when held to the light a certain way. This charger is 12 1/2" in diameter and is exquisite! We will double box this item for shipment and provide insurance as it is definitely one of a kind! ANTIQUE LAMP AMERICAN BRILLIANT CUT GLASS Found in a local estate auction is this beautiful cut glass lamp with a pointed mushroom shade. It dates to the early 20th century. It measures about 17.5" high. Perfect for a boudoir. It is in good condition, no damage aside from minor fleabite chips around the base edge. The prisms are not all original and one is missing. Some have small chipping. This lamp was so dirty that I thought the metal was brass. I thoroughly cleaned it and found under the grime the metal is silverplate. It has a pull chain socket and takes a c-7 chandelier type bulb. The wiring is not original but is still very old and does work. It has an on/off switch on the cord. All old wiring should be checked for safety before use. The socket is marked Bryant. I could not find any other markings. Use my photos for condition ... moredescription. The larger wall pocket is approx. 9-3/4" wide x 6-1/2" tall; the smaller wall pocket is 5" wide x 3-3/4" tall. Both pieces are in EXCELLENT Condition, no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs- they don't appear to ever have been used at all. The larger wall pocket on the back side has a few marks, maybe glaze, or pen? PAIR of ART NOUVEAU C1909 VINTAGE WMF BRASS CANDLESTICKS OSTRICH Mark for 1909-14 Description: You are bidding on a very interesting item. It is a PAIR of OLD BRASS WMF CANDLESTICKS or CANDELABRA. The bases are weighted and this is marked WMF G with an OSTRICH. The G stands for Geislingen an der Steige. This mark was used on marks expeorted to FRANCE(where these were bought)between 1909& 1914 I believe. When I got them they were very tarnished(th ese are the last 2 pictures) and I have cleaned them by hand(not with a machine or buffer) They could really do with another polish but I have left them as is as we all have different requirements for the final polish and la cquer. The main body is cast and there are quite a lot of scra tches on this which should polish out. I think they may be from when the stick was finished off before GILDING(only ... moresmall traces of this remain) One candle holder is slightly bent but this should straight en up. There are a couple of small dents and a slight kink in the foot of one. They are quite heavy at approx 850g each unpacked. The postage shown is for one parcel of 2.5kg. 1930s Art Nouveau Austrian Crystal Overlay Cut Glass Decanter Elegant cased and cut bell shaped decanter with hand cut Art Nouveau design. Produced by Famosa LPW in Vienna. Austria between 1920 and the 1930s. The decanter does not have the original sticker but displays the identical form, colors as documented with the Famosa label. Decanter features double overlay results in three layers of glass. The inner layer is milky white, center layer is amber and the outer layer is a dark amber or chestnut. The artist cut through the outer layer to the center to produce the deocr. The white and amber layers produce the caramel coloration. The decanter is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. A beautiful French Art Nouveau period solid pewter buckle with wide leather belt.The buckle is designed in the Arts& Crafts style with sinuous organic shapes,there is a huge yellowish flat top stone fitted to one side of the buckle,there are small traces of gilding left in parts so this was possibly gold or part gold when made. All signed to the back with"Merot"who was the French designer. All in nice original condition,the actual leather belt may have been replaced at some point as it is in very good condition. ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU PAINTED PORCELAIN CHERUBS ANGEL PORTRAIT ORMOLU HAND MIRROR Description: The porcelain front of this hand mirror depicts a portrait of two frolicking baby cherubs. The portrait is a transfer. And is in good condition with the exception of a little wear to the posterior of the left cherub. The rim of the portrait is stunning, a bright gilt rim with the tiniest of wear to the very edge near the handle. Nothing significant though. There are no chips or restorations to the porcelain. The mirror is original, heavily bevelled, and clear, but note that there is a little silvering loss at the 10 o’clock position and at the 1 o’clock position and teeny black spots at the 7 o’clock position. The frame is very ornate and a bit loose, but this can be tightened because the little screw at the bottom is still present. It is a very heavy ... morepiece. For collectors: I am down-sizing my collection. This piece is noteworthy for the subject matter of the porcelain plaque and the magnificent gilt border– cherub mirrors are a real treasure. Antique Art Nouveau ORIVIT Germany Pewter SANCTUS HUBERTUS Hunting Trophy RARE
This auction is for this beautiful copper clad pewter trophy cup(with cover) that is decorated with a hunting motif of an oak tree. Oak leaves, and acorns. It also has the head of St. Hubertus(patron Saint of Hunting) as well as the words, Sanctus Hubertus" written on the cup. All the decor is in relief. The bottom of the cup is hallmarked and tells us that is was made in Germany c.1900, by the famous Orivit company that was well known for their Art Nouveau design. It also has the stock number 2181 in the bottom of the cup. The small bottom rim is slightly unevern with some dents, and there is a spot along the top rim with a bit of loss to the copper cladding. otherwise in good condition with a nice patina. Interior has some staining. It measures 5.5" high(without the cover on) top diameter is 3 and 3/4" and bottom diameter ... moreis 2 and 3/4" Amongst other manufacturers of art nouveau objects for everyday use the German company Orivit of Cologne. Founded in 1895, stands out. No other firm produced as many lovely designs in so short a time. The company was founded in 1895 by Ferdinand Hobert Schmitz who had purchased a pre-existing bronze and metal work firm near Cologne, Germany. In 1898 the word Orivit was listed as a trademark referring to a new luxury pewter line and Orivit items won acclaim garnering a gold medal at the Paris World Exposition of 1900. In 1900 the name of Schmitz's firm was changed to Orivit. The firm employed the revolutionary Huber press which evidently allowed metal to be pressed into the desired form using a highly pressurized system. Both Hermann Gradl and Georges Charles Coudray are known to have designed pieces for Orivit. Theo Blum. Georg Graseggar, Walter Scherf, Vicor Heinrich Seifert, and Johann Christian Kroner are also known to have been associated with the company. Here is a wonderful antique Victorian Art Nouveau photo album. I believe the covers to be celluloid and has an overall gold and green color with green ivy leaves and vines. The center cover has a scend of a mother and her two children having tea. It is bordered by embossed flowing flowers and tendrils. The inside of album has 15 hard cardboard type pages that will hold 2 photos on each side. The pages are decorated in gold printed art nouveau flowing flowers and tendrils. The pages ends are also gilded and show some minor spotty wear. A couple pages show some minor tearing in a couple plates as shown. There is also browning to the pages from age. It has an ornage metal latch. The spine is covered with a blue printed velvet fabric.The album measures about 12" x 9 3/4" and 2" thick. FINE ANTIQUE IRIDESCENT LOETZ ART NOUVEAU GLASS OIL SPOT BOWL TIFFANY STYLE
Presented is an authentic antique Art Nouveau bowl made by Loetz. It is handblown and has a beautiful iridescent oil spot finish. There are six lobes that comprise the rim. The base of the glass is a light green in color. When the light catches the bowl. There is a beautiful display of iridescent colors ranging from fushia, turqouise, teal, purple and gold. The glass is silky smooth to the touch and has some weight to it for the size. The bowl measures 7" wide and about 3.5" tall. There is no damage to this piece and it displays beautifully. There is a perfectly round polished pontil on the bottom of the bowl. The glass itself does have some dark specs in the glass. This will look great in any collection or home decor. Description This antique circa 1906 Art Nouveau sterling 925 silver and enamel small liqueur goblet by Mappin& Webb Ltd. Probably to a design by Archibald Knox for retail through Liberty of London, has a rounded bottomed cup like bowl with gilded interior, on a triple silver rod twisted tendril stem, which splits below the bowl and curls round to support the bowl. At the base the spreading foot is worked with typical Archibald Knox water lily motif with shaded blue enamels. This delightful little piece is marked to the edge of the bowl with Mappin& Webb Ltd shield mark and Birmingham hallmarks for 1906. It is in good condition apart from three of the enamel sections have hard resin repairs(these show slightly darker than the others) Two of the remaining enamels have tiny cracks. For auction I have 2 Pair(4) of Antique Art Nouveau Cast Iron VICTORIAN SWING OUT CURTAIN RODS. The areas that are made of cast iron has the original paint and are in pretty good condition. Most of the area on the rods where the curtains fit have the paint peeled off(see photos) and also the pivot brackets are missing. Closed each rod measures 17 14" long and they can extend up to about 25" There is some light surface rust in a few places and I thought about putting on a light clear spray to seal it in. But changed my mind as some people prefer everything original. Like wise I also thought about painting the rods mentioned above, but again thought better of this. The pivot hangers are fairly easy to manufacture. I use to know someone that did this, but I've lost touch with him a long time ago. The weight of this Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Bowl is 5.8 oz. It measures 1-1/2 inches in height and 5-1/4 inches in diameter. It is marked on the bottom with two Georg Jensen makers marks. crown over Georg Jensen and the GI over 925S) Denmark, Sterling, 158B. These marks were used 1925-1932 and 1915-1930 that would take this early piece 1925-1930. This piece is beautifully hand hammered throughout. The rim is finished with a beaded motif and the base has an abstract art nouveau design. Antique Vintage Art Nouveau Deco Garden Dancing Girls Painting Printed Picture
This is a framed Painted-Printed picture of the dancing girls on felt. I have had this a long time. Bought it like this about 20 years ago. It is in good condition. I took it out of frame an took pictures for you, that is the first time it has been out, felt still in good shape. It is an amazing little piece or so I have always thought. I have never seen another like it. Don't know what it was, if it was a picture or something else. I know the design is paint. Don't know if it was hand or machine done. The felt is 18 X 11 an the frame is 21 X 15. Don't know if this is considered Art Deco or Art Nouveau. I think it is a nice piece of art regardless of what it was originally. One of a kind maybe. 9.25" or 23.5cm Julius Dressler Austrian Art Nouveau vase c. 1900. The firm of Julius Dressler was established in Biela about 1883 and closed in 1944. Julius Dressler was known for some of the finest work of the period 1890-1905. Reminiscent of the work of Zsolnay, Amphora and the work of Zsolnay in Bohemia. This lovely vase combines a mottled brown glaze with subtle accents of green. The piece is fully marked on the bottom with the Dressler impressed and raised marks and of course Austria.
