Architectural 1880's Wood Salvage Dental Molding Victorian Arts & Crafts 22 inch
Antique. Victorian Wood Dental Molding. These two dental molding pieces were obtained from salvage of an old Victorian 1880's home and was hand carved for that particular home. One measures 16 1/2 inches long, 3 3/4 inches tall and 5/8 inches thick. The other piece measures 22 inches long, 3 3/4 inches tall and 5/8 inches thick. Could be used in two different places or placed together to make a longer piece. Great for a restoration item, replacement of dental molding or would make a great arts and crafts project, like maybe a key hanger or shelf border. Because it is over 120 years old, does have chipping paint due to being the original paint. The age patina really gives it character. Comes from a smoke free home. OLD ANTIQUE ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE VERY UNUSUAL PIECE Six sided
A very unusual architectural piece of salvage. It measures 20 1/4 from outside flat edge to opposite flat edge side with a 13 1/4 inch opening. The piece is 3 1/2 inches thick. There are wooden dowel pins on 3 sides. See photo. Not sure what it was used for. Piece weighs almost 7 pounds and 14 ounces. Made of a hardwood, not sure what type though. I actually have two of these and will be offering the 2nd one up for sale in a week or so. They are very similiar in shape but the one not for sale at this time is 2 1/2 inches thick and is a wee bit different in its sloping sides. Ships to Continental US only. Antique carved wood American Art Architectural Salvage Figure, Man, Furniture
A nice piece of architectural salvage carved out of wood ~ figure of a man. A duke, a musketeer? It probably came off of a mantel or large piece of furniture. He is old and somewhat fragile. There has been some repair work on his neck where he has cracked up the sides. There is a small brad in his neck and on the top where a piece was loose. The base has some cracks in it and a few loose pieces which may need gluing. There is a hole in the back of his head where he was mounted at one time. He is still an amazing piece of history and you will love him! Check out photos for further idea on condition and detail. This Antique Architectural Salvage Wood Stairway Post is in Good Salvaged Condition. The finish is in nice shape with an aged patina. There is some minor wear. A few cracks and quite a few nail holes on the side that was attached to the stairway, see my last photo. However the post still feels like one solid chunk of wood, nothing is loose. The top has a different patina and it looks like something was removed from the center but it still looks great. This old post would make a great plant stand or base for a sculpture. OMG HUGE 9 foot cast iron white gate topper architectural salvage rusty patina!
Amazing old gate! Hi, I am selling the most amazing decorative cast iron gate topper! At least I think that's what is it. Not too sure: The patina is to die for. Just enough rust and paint loss to be perfect! It has 3 1 5/8" legs at the bottom. I think is where it set on top of the gate. It has a small easel back behind. Can prop at an angle. It is gigantic measuring 9' 1" wide. 25" tall to the top of the finial, not including the legs at the bottom and is approximately 4" deep. I am guessing it to be 80-90 lbs. I believe it is cast iron. Unknown age. Looks quite old to me. It has incredible detail. So intricate, it is stunning! I think this would make an amazing plant border. But there are so many things you could do! How about above your bed or fireplace? Check the pics carefully. You'll see on the left side ... moreat the bottom the base sticks out a bit further than the scrolly detail above. But on the right side, the scrolly part sticks out further than the base. I think this is where 2 of these would have met. This must have been one whopper of a gate! Check out the 2nd to last pic. I said the ball looks a bit smashed. Upon further inspection, I think it was cut, probably when removing from the gate, minor and barely noticeable, just want you to know: You'll not see another like this. It is aged to absolute perfection, is so huge. So detailed, amazing. The breast has a carved corbel in the center with great carvings to either side. The carvings are wood. I did a couple of test scrapes as there are many coats of paint. Description This is a great lot of antique molding that was salvaged from a Victorian Mansion in Clarion. PA. Everything is made of cherry and is unpainted. These are all of the window moldings from the parlor. There were 6 windows in this room. 5 of them are all the same size. They are 82 tall from the sill to the top. They are 9 feet tall with the paneling that went below the window wills. The width is 39.5 inches wide. The 6th window was 63 tall to the sill. 89 tall with the paneling by 65.75 wide. There are 10 pieces of molding that are 77.5 tall by 4.5 wide. 5 pieces are 30.5 by 4.5. 1 piece is 56.5 by 4.5. Two pieces are 58.5 by 4.5. There are 12 carved corner plinth blocks with flowers. The upper part has 2 doors each with 2 raised panels with shelves inside. The lower part has 2 doors each with 2 raised panels and a drawer. This is a 1 piece unit. Not 2 sections. The latches. Catches and pulls are ornate Victorian. The right side is not finished and there is no back. It measures 64.25 wide. 116.5 tall and is 18.75 deep. Overall it is in good condition.
