Antique Cast Iron Industrial Furniture CAST IRON Railroad Jack Table Glass Top
Up for your consideration is a beautiful CAST IRON 20 ton Railroad Jack turned into a really nice end table. This table is glass a top a cast aluminum wavy pulley wheel that was welded to the top of the Jack. This table top is 18 inches in diameter. I have taking pics of it both inside an out so you could see it in natural light. The Cast Iron Jack Base is heavy weighing approximately 75 lbs. I believe its a 20 ton but not sure and I wouldn't recommend 20 tons on this table: it will hold a hefty amount but remember the top is glass) The wavy wheel on top sits on the jack which will raise and lower but because of its age the jack is tight to move. But it can. The wavy wheel also sits on the top part of the Jack that has slight movement as this was a"jack" and the top gives a little to accommodate whatever its lifting, however ... morethe top is very secure and will not come off. In fact you can lift this table up from the wheel but I recommend lifting from the base because its so heavy and you don't want the weld to break. Additional storage is found below the desk area consisting of an area with a ornate door measuring 20" x 14 1\2" deep. The drawer below this storage area measures 2" x 14 1\2" deep x 5" High. To the left of the desk is a tall shelf area with four adjustable shelves for storage or acting as a bookcase again having fine ornate wood carving over the glass door front. The ornate carvings on the front of the fold-down desk and upper glass door appear Victorian. Work is needed for refinishing this piece to bring it back to its original ... morebeauty. This is a turn of the century 3 pc. bedroom suite. It's a beautiful quarter sawn Tiger Oak. The mirrors are beveled. Each piece is extremely heavy. The dresser is on original rollers. Antique bedroom furniture Stunning 5 piece Pre-French Revolution
The bed was converted to a queen before my parents bought it in the 90's. It has been well cared for ever since that time. One hinge on the armoire broke so we opted to keep the door off instead of fixing it ourselves as we did not want to damage the furniture(the hinges did not all match when it was originally purchased by my family) The armoire has shelves on the right hand side and bars for hanging clothes in the middle and on the left. There are two night stands. Each has a small upper drawer inside the door. The tops on the dresser and night stands are marble. The maker is unknown to me and I cannot find markings anywhere but the set was bought from a well known-but now closed dealer in Tustin Ca for over 15,000.00. More photos can be sent upon request. Up for auction is this great lot of 15 metal drawer/cabinet pulls. They appear to be brass in nature. I have not attempted to clean these and they have a great older patina. 13 of the 15 pulls measure 3.75 inches wide and measure 3 inches between the screw holes. There is one large one that measures 4.25 inches wide and 3 inches between the screw holes. There is one smaller one that measures 3 inches wide that is missing his pull portion.
