SWEET ANTIQUE BROWN STRIPED SOCKS FROM SEVEN GATES FARM Description These are just SO primadorable! Just in time for the Christmas holidays and year round. You will adore these as much as I have. I originally bought these from Jimmy Cramer and Dean Johnson way back when they were still at Seven Gates Farm together and we all used to go to antique shows. AAFA 19th Century Full Bodied Copper and Iron "Ethan Allen" Horse Weathervane
Full Bodied Running Horse Weathervane This is a copper molded full bodied"Ethan Allen" weathervane with a cast iron head. The surface is wonderful- a vibrant chrome yellow paint which was the sizing. Or undercoat, for what once would have been a gilded surface- worn off by weather and exposure. Areas of verdigris show through, making the overall effect interesting and beautiful. Ethan Allen was a champion Morgan horse trotter. Renowned in the Racing Hall of Fame, and a horse that you see in many Currier and Ives prints. This and many other vanes of the late 1800's were derived from the Currier and Ives images. The relatively small size of this one makes it special- 30" from the tip of the tail to the foremost leg. 17 1/2" from the ear to the cross piece, a perfect size for display. It appears that this vane. Like many ... moreof its era, was shot at. Pictures 8,9,11 show what look to be filled bullet holes- I believe these repairs were done a long time ago, judging from the verdigris on and around them. There are some intermmitant seam separations on the back(picture 3) belly(picture 6) and chest(picture 5) and minor denting. The iron head appears to have been smoothed due to inevitable rust with some kind of filler- hard to tell- with some in-painting. Most of the vibrant chrome yellow paint appears to be original- the bits of brighter yellow here and there are not as stable as the rest and may have been added later. That said, the surface is striking, with the wonderful color interspersed with the verdigris of the copper showing through. There is no stand. Great sculptural shape. Exceptional detail to the mane(picture 10) and tail(picture 12) No breaks(except for the seam separations as noted above) or missing parts. Found in New Hampshire, it dates from the late 1800's. This comes with a full money back guarantee. You will pay only the exact cost of shipping and insurance. 0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false 0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false AAFA AAFA means Antique Americana a

AAFA One-of-a-Kind 200 Year Old Antique Primitive Mortise & Tenon Bench Heraldic
One-of-a-Kind 200 Year Old Antique Primitive Pyrography Bench. Heraldry Dragon Offered here is a very rare. One-of-a-Kind piece of primitive folk art. This was one of the oldest pieces my mother owned. It is well over 200 years old and in very good condition. It features mortise and tenon construction that has been reinforced at some point in time with very early screws. The design on the top is classic European in composition and depicts a heraldic lion headed dragon done in hand done pyrography and stippling with the use of an awl or pointed object. This little bench or stool measures 15" long by 8" tall by 9" wide. The wood that this is created from is either a soft wood or it has become very light with age. There is as of yet no deterioration and the wood is still solid and sound, but I believe this piece should either ... morebe sealed or placed in a glass case as I have been told that it may even be older than I realize. Condition is as good as it gets.no cracks or repairs. Color is the BEST deep. Rich, nut brown patina! Outstanding! Folklore has it that these shovels were made by the Shakers due to the fact that at the end of the day, when they went to clean up in the workshops(woodworkers workshop and barns) that if they used a shovel with metal that the metal might cause a spark and ignite the straw or woodshavings and start a fire(which they experienced several times with buildings burning down) Makes sense ... moredoesn't it.and just goes to show the Shaker inguinity they were famous for! Probably dating 1840-80 and from one of the New Englan Shaker communities.
