My mother collected primitive antiques for 60+ years and she loved boxes. A friend of hers who was an antiques dealer lived in our neighborhood and they ... moreloved to try to one up each other with their "finds" and a big part of that were their boxes. Anyway this is a rather pretty medium sized box my mother owened. It has a hinged lid and a rounded top. It measures 5 inches tall by 8 inches wide by 5 inches deep. It was put together with very small head nails. What I like the best about it is it's color. It has a deep reddish brown nice patina. It is in good condition but please review the high definition pictures for more condition detail. I see some remnants of glue so it probably is the remains of a repair done at some point. The box feels sturdy now though and is functional.

He is a gorgeous piece of folk art from upstate Maryland. Carved out of one piece of wood, he measures 4 1/2 inches tall by 5 1/4 inches long by 2 inches ... morewide. I am not sure what kind of wood it is but the color is kind of a very warm honey blonde. The end result is the carving is muti-tonal which I think is very pretty. AAFA ~ FABULOUS ORIGINAL ANTIQUE PAINT LARGE EARLY NEW ENGLAND ESTATE GAMEBOARD
FANTASTIC RARE LARGE EARLY ANTIQUE ALL ORIGINAL NEW ENGLAND GAMEBOARD Description This is a wonderful rare early antique all original gameboard from an early New England estate that I'm surely going to miss but it's time to part with it to keep my friend'Tuition Bill' happy for my son's college. It is WONDERFUL and is all original.dry paint and excellent patina.scroll down to check out all the pics below for more details! No apologies on this whatsoever. I would consider this an investment piece or definitely a museum quality original. IT IS GORGEOUS! It is definitely very old! Not newly made. Made from one board with a frame. Measures about 23 x 27 with the one piece board being almost 22 inches wide itself. You don't find good wood that wide anymore. The paint on this is all original and dry and just right with natural ... moreage and the kind of patina that comes with years of natural wear. The outside frame is dry red oxblood and the colors are much more better in person than my pics show. It is attached with early pegs and some hand forged square nails that you can barely see as they are painted but the edges are worn as you see in the pics so you can make them out with a magnifying glass to see the outline of the shape. They are VERY old! The inside board is painted with dry black that frames a great early tan and the red scroll design is a different color of red than the outside frame and is more of a brighter red but IS old. The checkerboard squares are dry black and as you see it is painted off center but it IS an original useable 64 square design and was used at some point probably to play every single day back in the simple times when there were no video games or other distractions to entertain people for hours on end. When you see this in person you wish it could tell all the stories it has seen over the years.I'm sure they would be very interesting. The back side of this is also unique. It is painted with the same design as the front minus the checkerboard part. I was told by the

Toddy/Rum Warmer AAFA
Evidently this is a pretty rare item. I cannot find anything similar to it on either ebay or the internet. The only listing I could find was in book"Antique Tin& Tole Ware" by Mary Earle Gould published in 1958. Hers is almost identical to this one except the handle on hers is near the bottom and this one is attached to the rim. She refers to hers as a rum warmer but does not go into any description. It is made of tin and for the life of me I don't see how it was used unless there was another vessel that sat down in the unit to hold the booze. Otherwise it would be next to impossible to drink out of it with hot colds or ashes in the shelf near the bottom. I welcome any comment a more knowledgeable person might have on it. It is in mint condition and measures 3 1/4" dia at top, 3 1/2" at bottom and is 4 5/8" ... moretall. This is a real find for an Americana or tin collector.

This is a fabulous and rare ephemera item. AAFA Ca. 1830 Reverse Painting on Glass (Theorem, Fraktur)
ITEM DESCRIPTION: This auction is for an original 1820s to 1840s reverse painting on glass featuring traditional motifs typically associated with theorem and fraktur artwork. This small but vibrantly colored composition would add a touch of vitality to any wall in your home or office! CONDITION: This reverse painting on glass is generally in good condition. The paint is strong and bright. With only very minor flaking and no signs of touchup. Both the frame and its backboard appear to be original. As seen in the photos. The backboard is currently unattached. Although a few of the original square nails remain in place. SHIPPING AND PAYMENT: The item will be carefully packed and shipped via USPS with tracking included. U.S. buyers only. Please. PayPal only. No returns.

ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE FOLK ART WOODEN SWAN WEATHERVANE ORIGINAL PAINT AAFA
Freshly found. This wonderful swan or hissing goose folk art weathervane has a fabulous, strong presentation in its folky form. Measuring approximately 39” in total length by 11” wide at the widest and about one inch thick, I believe it hails from the first quarter of the 20 th century. The old repairs along the wing and the base appear to have been put in to stabilize cracks that had begun. But not travelled. The neck either had been a separate piece, or had sheared off at some point as it too, has the old pinned repairs. It does fit well when pushed in place but still wobbles, and will need reinforcement along the old pin shadows that have fallen out to make him fully secure again. I’ve left him as shown to show where the old pins had attached. Very, very cool form. Except for the neck needing to be stabilized better, remarkably there is ... moreno damage to the bill nor to the wing tips. Buyer pays exact shipping and insurance. I do not charge for packing materials. Payment by paypal please and within 5 days of auctions end.

This plate has been in my collection for years and I am just now letting it go. For downsizing purposes-too precious, a small 19th C. Staffordshire child's plate with iconic nursery rhyme of the Hey Diddle Diddle, The Cat and the Fiddle, the Cow jump'd over the Moon, The little Dog laugh'd To see such fine sport, and the Dish ran away with the Spoon(this is all printed on the front, and spelled as such too) It shows a delightful cat wearing spectacle glasses, playing the fiddle, which has been hand-clobbered in blue, the Cow is jumping over the Moon, and the Dog, plate and spoon are also in on all of the action! This plate was obviously very precious to it's owner, as it was repaired long ago with early staples(six tiny staples in all) for a child who probably dropped this plate-but repaired beautifully and all is very stable. ... moreHas a stamped imprint marking, but not sure of the maker-one of the early Staffordshire factories. Great colors and hand-painted border in rusty red color, this plate is small with a diameter of 5 1/2" across. I hate to part with it, but have to move a few things-needs to go to a collector of wonderful make-do repaired items or early Childrens' ware! Shipping will be $8.00 to include careful packing with insurance. Sold as-is because of antique nature. Please ask all questions prior to bidding. Thanks for looking and good luck!
