Antique Folk Art Cow Bull Steer Weathervane Whirligig Windvane AAFA
We just love to find old fun whimsical pieces like this. We got this from antique dealer selling their collection. We date this guy to early-mid 20th century. He's spent many days standing in the weather as his patina and propeller testifies! We believe he initially came from a cattle farm in the Ohio area. His little propeller on the back has the best rusted patina. Rusty gold as the American pickers say! It has a tail made from rope which is weathered with some loss. We just love his horns and udders! I guess it's a she! see all pics) We gave him a very light coat of transparent stain for protection. The weathered look on him is real. His has distressed wood and paint and it makes a great patina. He's mounted on a 100+ year old architectural column. We did that here in our shop. This piece is a superb example of antique vintage ... morereal folk art at it's best. Our passion is buying and selling pieces with a whimsical nature to it. They can be hard to find and quite pricey at any auction. He measures 20'L and 19" h. We hope you have the same passion for these kind of pieces because these items have almost disappeared from the landscape. He or she is certain to make a great addition to any type of Americana collection. We are starting him at $9.99 with no reserve. Ships to P.O box at actual USPS costs added to invoice. Payment within 3 days of auction coeitimmy

2 Primitive Antique Turned Wood Tops Spinning Tops One All Wood No Metal AAFA
2 Primitive Antique Turned Wood Tops Spinning Tops One All Wood No Metal AAFA Well. I am back from a monster shopping trip to the World’s Longest Yard Sale– we shop Ohio every year and then stop at some of my favorite spots in Indiana to buy from. Spent 2 whole days taking photos and still not done– I have a LOT and I’ll be listing for weeks. There’s something for everyone- primitive antiques, ephemera, military, railroad, industrial, farm finds– you name it, I have it and it’s all unique– you’ll want to keep checking, as I will list every day. Enjoy! Wouldn't it be cool to have a Christmas tree with all old tops turned ornaments? That's what I thought of when I saw this dynamic duo. They are totally different tops. But I'm keeping them together to sell as they have been living together for a loooong time. Both are made of solid ... moreturned too. The larger one is the yellow one. It measures 2 3/4" tall in total and 2" at its widest. It has a metal point that is either iron or steel- it has light surface rust all over, but it's surface only- the patina is very dark. The color is yellow, and it's accented with stripes of red, white and blue. It's in excellent condition, with general wear to the finish all over and some small and minor scratches, scrapes, nicks and dings- very minor. The smaller one is all wood- no metal and I was told that it is very old and hand made(this one only) It measures 2 1/2" tall and 1 3/4" at its widest. It's not painted, it has a stained finish, and you can see lots of wear to the finish, especially on the point and top, but general wear all over. It also has very minor wear- scratches, scrapes, nicks and dings, and you can see the a former owner drew some circles on the very top in pencil- I think that's sweet. It's in excellent structural condition. Both tops are light- under 2 ounces. I can't wait to hear what you will do with them! Customer Satisfaction is extremely important to me. If you receive an item and are not satisfied i
Aafa Primitive Wooden Butter or Dough Bowl
This vintage sturdy solid wood BUTTER DOUGH MIXING BOWL measures approximately 13 5/8" in one direction and 14 5/8" in the other.naturally"out of round" and perfect for any country kitchen or primitive display! The large size and depth of approximately 4 3/8" made it always useful for mixing bread dough or working butter. Use it that way or pile it high with shiny apples. Gourds, cookie cutters, pine cones, rag balls, etc. etc. Beautifully grained with a top edge that measures approximately 1/2"w. Some random expected age related surface wear with slight cracking(see picture for detail) on inside of bowl due to age does NOT go the whole way the through. If you have any additional question please feel free to email me.

AAFA SUPERB PAIR ANTIQUE GLAZED REDWARE SOUTHERN ART POTTERY BIRD SCULPTURES
AAFA SUPERB PAIR. ANTIQUE. GLAZED REDWARE. SOUTHERN ART POTTERY. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DIFFERENCES IN PICTURES VERSUS ACTUAL COLOR. WE TRY TO DESCRIBE THE ACTUAL COLORS TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY. IN THIS AUCTION THERE ARE ADDITIONAL SLIDESHOW PICTURES BELOW. IN ADDITION TO THE EBAY PHOTOS ABOVE. ITEM: A rare pair of antique Southern art pottery turkey bird sculptures. Made of a redware body. With metal rod framing for legs and feet. Glazed in a medium blue semi-matte. And glass inserted eyes. No maker mark found. These were part of a substantial Americana private collection for many years. Prior to our obtaining them. They are in very good condition. Showing ... moreonly overall glaze crazing, and minimal damage to the feet area. Not surprising, the weight of the birds are put upon the metal legs, and as such over the years they have had stress and the pottery and glaze is damaged in this area(see all photos) There may, or may not, be old repairs to the feet. Otherwise, the body of the birds are fine. We guarantee these are early. Believed to be third quarter 1800s or thereabouts based on the information we have. We have never in all our years of collecting ever saw art pottery like these. They display quite nicely. I can't help but think there is a little Arts& Crafts influence here as the turkeys are glazed in a semi-matte turquoise. A very popular color in that American decorative movement of the late 1800s and early 1900s. MEASUREMENTS: 9 in. tall. 10 1/4 in. wide back feathers. 6 3/4 in. deep CONDITION: As described above. RARE WHITE IRONSTONE PUNCH FRUIT BOWL IN STAR FLOWER DESIGN AAFA
This is a magnificent and rare white ironstone fruit bowl. The pattern is called"Star Flower" and it is attributed to J.W. Pankhurst who manufacture white ironstone in England from about 1850 to 1882. A copy of the pattern can be found in Wetherbee's"White Ironstone" book on page 127. If this was indeed a punch bowl. It seems rather small and therefore most likely was used as a fruit bowl. The bowl itself stands about 6" high and measures 9" in diameter at the top. Although it is not signed. Pankhurst is most likely the maker. The bowl is free of chips but does have a"spider" on the underside of the base that does not go through to the inside bowl area. The interior of the bowl has"browning" that could come out with a good peroxide cleaning. Please note the great little handles on the ... moresides I am offering the fruit bowl without a reserve.

Antique Original circa 1900 BootMaker Repair Shoe Trade Sign Sheet Iron AAFA NR
We got this sign from a 80 year old antiques dealer who used this sign in his business for over 50 years. He said it originally hung in front of a turn of the century boot/shoe repair shop. It is made from heavy guage sheet iron and is riveted to the lower bracket around the heel. It has a loop on the top that is also riveted. ANTIQUES" is painted over the top of the original paint. The current coat of paint is old and has some minor flaking. The paint underneath is very old and dried/distressed. This is a great sign if you collect trade signs or if have an antiques business. The boot is 33"h by 23"w. Rare chance to own an antique trade sign for your business. Don't be sorry after the auction so bid with confidence! Early Primitive Antique Hand Made Brass & Wood Kitchen Grater AAFA
Early Primitive Antique Hand Made Brass& Wood Kitchen Grater AAFA Well. Enjoy! Here is a drop-dead-gorgeous antique grater for you. It's hand made. With a hand punched brass grater that is mounted onto a piece of wood that has a hole in the top for hanging when not in use. This is probably the loooongest grater that I have ever seen- it measures 4" wide, 18 3/4" ... moretop to bottom total, with the grater alone being 13 3/4" tall and 1 1/4" deepest(it's slighty off round) from the front of the wood to the outside edge of the grater. The wood and the brass both have gorgeous age darkened patinas, with the wood being darker, almost black, toward the bottom, and on much of the backside- the black at the top of the backside almost looks like a burn to me, though. The grater is nailed onto the wood via 8 nails- 4 on each long side, and it is well attached to the wood. The wood has an oval cut out in the center so that you can access the grater from the backside. I'm showing in photos 14& 15 that the wood has cracked all the way through in one spot, starting at the bottom edge where it curves up, and going up to the bottom of the oval cut out- it's 3" long. I'm showing how I can push the two sides together in photo 15. It would be very easy to repair- just some glue and a clamp or tie shut until it dries. That being said, it's really not necessary for display purposes, as the brass being affixed to both sides of the wood really holds the piece together- it's strong as it is, if you don't want to fix it.
Early Primitive Antique Tinsmith Made Tin Kitchen Grater AAFA
Early Primitive Antique Tinsmith Made Tin Kitchen Grater AAFA Well. Enjoy! Here is an awesome early hand made tin grater- it has the BEST darkdarkdark patina. And it's made from thick/heavier tin, with the hand punched tin holes being off/not exactly the same space apart, or straight lines for that matter also. It measures 2 7/8' wide at the back, 7 5/8' tall in total, ... more5 7/16" tall to the top of the grater, and the grater is 1" deep from the back to the top center front. It weighs a smidge under 1/4 lb and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. There's an off round hole at the top for hanging when not in use. I can find one small shallow sing on the bottom of the grater edge, on the left, and that's it- it really is in nice shape. There's some small isolated spots of surface rust that are very dark, they are surface only, dark from age and just part of the gorgeous patina of this one- I can't say enough about it! Early Primitive Antique Forged Iron Short Peel Cake Turner Blacksmith Made AAFA
Early Primitive Antique Forged Iron Short Peel Cake Turner Blacksmith Made AAFA Well. Enjoy! Here is a very old. Early antique blacksmith made kitchen too. It's a short peel, or cake turner, and it is fabulous. This is a smaller one, measuring 8" long in total, it is 2 3/4" wide at the end of the peel- I'm guessing it was closer to 3" originally. As you can ... moresee in photos 5& 6, one corner is missing on the very end, and there's a 1/8" shallow nick to the edge on that side too- about 1/2 way up. I can't tell is this was damage, or if it was caused by rust 0 the piece is clearly covered in rust, but the rust is extremely old and dark(almost black in some spots) and the piece is totally strong and sturdy- no movement at all- I pressed hard on the edge of that corner, and it's not budging, so whatever caused it, it was a long time ago. It almost has a dug look to it- in addition to the rust, there's pitting to the iron all over too. Please look at all of my photos- it's rustic, but sturdy and wonderfully primitive. That's all part of its history, though- I wouldn't change a thing. It weighs a smidge under 1/4 lb. This one is the real deal. Customer Satisfaction is extremely important to me. If you receive an item and are not satisfied in any way. Please contact me before leaving feedback. Please ask if you have any questions. Or feel free to inform me if you have any information about one of my listings. As with any of my items, if you ever need extra photos, let me know. I’m happy to combine shipment

Rare. Handmade folk art lamp Double socket. This has 3,148 pieces of inlay inside of the lamp all from different countries! Read the story underneath. It is really crazy. It reads" This lamp contains 3,148 pieces consisting of 17 different kinds of wood some of which are very rare and from distant countries. This lamp was made by Mr. Charlie Osborne of Lakeville, NY and was completed November 9th 1935. Was presented to Mrs. Lucia Leary by her son Harold, Christmas 1935" It is a beautiful hand crafted piece and probably took countless hours for detailing. The lamp Stands about 22 inches high and base measures 6 3/4 inches each way. You don't want to miss out on this piece. ALCOTT ANTIQUES* VINTAGE HANDMADE SNAKE SKIN BELT Measures 44" total overall. 1 5/8" width You won't see another one like this! This is a handmade snakeskin belt. Crafted perhaps in the 1960's era but unsure. It shows some wear on the inside leather and the leather wrap has a nice patina. It has no holes so unsure if it was ever worn. The skin is slightly loose from the wrap only at the buckle end for about 1-2 inches where it would tuck behind the buckle and not show. This could be cut to fit with a buckle of your choice. Enjoy! The man that I bought this from told me that this decoy had been made by a friend's grandfather back in 1915. When I asked how his friend could sell something so wonderful that his grandfather had made. The man pointed to a box way in the back of his garage- filled with other duck decoys, all ... morefrom the same maker. I saw heads, eyes, and tails sticking out of the packed box top. He said there were so many made, that there was enough for family AND friends to share. I was thrilled to get this one for you. It's a wonderful wood decoy- made from two pieces of wood, but body and then the head which is attached to the body. It's a rustic/primitive piece, but in excellent solid and sturdy condition. It measures 17" long beak to tail, 5 1/2" at its widest, 4" tall to the top of its back and 6 1/2" tall to the top of his head. He has been hand painted, as you can see from my photos, and does show wear to the paint in spots all over, as well as wear to the wood- scratches, scrapes, nicks, dings, small divots, small holes, cracks that to not move, and a surface rusty loop at the front of his chest. Photos 12& 14 show that he has some shallow chips at the bottom of his neck on one side, and you can see from photo 16 that he has some teenie round holes on his underside. Some of his scrapes and wear goes down to the wood- see my photos. He has glass eyes, and when I look at them with my magnifying loop, I can see teeeenie nicks and nibbles to the gla

Enjoy! Here is a beautiful old hand turned wood box or jar or treenware.whatever you prefer! It's a lovely lidded box to me. With the turns of of the solid wood being the only decoration that it needs. It measures 8" tall to the top of the knob on the lid, 5 1/2" to the top of the jar ... moreonly not including the lid, 3" diameter across the mouth measuring on the inside, 3 1/2" diameter across the base, and the jar is about 4 1/2" at its widest at the body. It weighs just under 1 lb and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, with rustic wear to the finish and wood from age- scratches, scrapes, nicks, dings, finish wear, light spots, dark spots, cracks that do not move- I wouldn't change a thing! You can still see the pencil marks from the turning of the wood on the bottom- that's the only markings, no signature, but it's good enough for me- it's a wonderful vintage rural folk art piece- perfect for your storage or display! Lovely Early Primitive Antique 1800s Victorian Era Wood Sewing Box Brass B AAFA
Lovely Early Primitive Antique 1800s Victorian Era Wood Sewing Box Brass B AAFA Well. Enjoy! Oh. This one was love at first sight- it's soooo pretty and so old and so primitive- what's not to love? What I have is an 1800s, Victorian era wood sewing box, fancyfancyfancy as made back in the day, it has brass accented- fancy brass relief pieces covering the 4 feet, at the keyhole, ... moreas knobs for the two drawers, the THREE hinges, and a short"crown" of brass surrounding the pin cushion in the center of the lid. The box measures 10" widest by 6 3/8" deepest and stands 6" tall to the top of the box(decoration not included) and 6 3/4" to the top of the pin cushion. It weighs 3 1/4 lbs. The box is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, with looooots of rustic wear from age and use. The quickest to notice is the shabby threads of the green fabric that once covered the pin cushion. It used to be dark green, it appears, from the color that you see on the very edges of the cushion- the threads that are left have faded to more of a light moss green. You can see the tan color of what looks like a cotton/muslin underneath. You can also hear a crackle when you push on it that sounds very much like old horse hair- I can't say for sure as I cannot see it, but the noise is there to me. The other issue that this box has on the outside(and much harder to notice) is that it's missing most of its fancy detail from the front right corner- chipped almost all the way off and long ago, because the patina is dark there- not
Rustic Primitive Antique Cooper Made Water Bucket Americana Farm Find Oak AAFA
Rustic Primitive Antique Cooper Made Water Bucket Americana Farm Find Oak AAFA Well. Enjoy! Wow. Is this one cool. It's a very old antique water bucket that is small barrel in shape, that I purchased at a farm sale in Ohio. This bucket is rustic to look at as it is(and veryveryvery barn fresh dirty) but let me tell you- it's as sturdy as the oak that it is made from. The bucket ... moreweighs a hefty 4 lbs, and that's a lot for its size- it measures 7 3/4" tall at the top, 7 3/16' diameter across the top and 6 3/16" diameter across the bottom. It has its three original iron bands, and they are well in place, as are the wood staves- there's no wiggle or jiggle with this one at all. If you look in photo 5, you can see an iron loop that's on one side- and there's another in the same spot on the opposite side. That's where the iron wire handle used to be- it's long gone, and you could replace it with your own if you wanted to, but I think it's just fine the way it is. On the center band, you can also see two holes in the iron, punched holes, one on one side of that band, and the other in the same spot on the other side(just like the handle loops) They are not beneath the handle loops, they are about 1" from them. They were made, so clearly had a purpose, I just have no idea what it was. I stuck the end of a paperclip inside, and it appears as if the two holes are in the iron band only- the paperclip stopped at the wood. The three bands have a single iron bolt all in the same spot, all in a row vertically on one s

There’s something for everyone- primitive antiques, ephemera, military, railroad, industrial, farm finds– you name it, I have it and it’s all unique– you’ll want to keep checking, as I will list every day. Enjoy! Oh. This one is a show stopper- I know it stopped my in MY tracks! It's a very old hand made wood piece- I don't know if it was made as a candle box, or a comb box or? but it will stand on the table, as well as hang on the wall via the hole that was made at the top. It's a labor of love, ... morefor sure- with beautiful carved wood detail starting with the star-flower shape at the top, and continuing with the scrolly flower at the center of the front bordered by a row of carved circles in the wood- it almost has a Celtic feel to me. On the top of this area, there's a rounded scalloped wood border, and there's a carved twisted rope design on the sides and underside of it. There's the box at the front for storage, and also a pull out drawer at the bottom. The knob for the drawer has a wood dowl, not a screw. The front of the drawer has a border of two carved lines in the wood. The decoration is on the front only, the sides are unadorned. It's patina is gorgeous- deep and rich and dark and rustic, that takes on almost a burgundy hue in the right lights- like in photo 20. It measures 9 1/2" widest at the two rounded bump out circles at the top edge, and 8" wide at the rest of the body. It starts out at 5 3/4" deep at the top of the box and goes down to 5" at the base of the box. The base measures 8" by 5" The inside of the box measures 7" wide by 4 1/2" deep and 5" tall measuring at the inside walls and at the

RARE 1880's HANDCARVED BLACK FOREST WOODEN FIGURE NUTCRACKER AAFA
RARE 1880's HANDCARVED BLACK FOREST WOODEN FIGURE NUTCRACKER AAFA The Black Forest region of Germany along with the nearby Alpine regions of Austria. Switzerland and France have produced many hand carved nutcrackers, particularly from the late 19th century onwards. And though Switzerland produced the majority of these nutcrackers they are often referred to as Black Forest. Designs included animals, male and female faces, standing and sitting figures and more. Most were indirect lever nutckrackers. It can be used to crack nuts in the lever and also in the mouth, however, many early black forest nutcrackers have been damaged using the latter method. This 1880's example is one of the earliest Black Forest nutcrackers. Considering his over 100 years of use he has survived very nicely. If you check photo number one you will notice a chip ... moreon the right-hand side of his lip, judging from the color this was done a long time ago. There is also a very small chip on the back near the handle. He is a little stiff when you open and close his mouth. Otherwise he is in very good condition. It is a tradition in some families to have a collection of Black Forest Nutcrackers which they bring out at Christmas. Often adding a new one each year. This would certainly be a valuable addition. The measurements are 8 1/4" high 3" wde. As always thank you for your interest. 2 ANTIQUE OLD SOCK RAG DOLLS MOMMA & BOY EARLY BLUE CALICO SEVEN GATES FARM AAFA
I am selling these sweet babies for a good friend of mine in Ohio. She bought them from the guys at Seven Gates Farm many years ago when they still sold antiques before their book came out. They always had the best stuff ever and we both collected some great stuff from them that we never part with unless we have to as you probably feel the same way if you love their stuff too. Dean was still alive when she bought these so she has had them for a very long time. These 2 dollies are SO sweet! Americana at it's finest! Check out the pics for more details. These are both OLD& ORIGINAL! The momma doll measures about 15 inches tall. The sweet boy measures about 12 inches tall. They are both made from old socks and feel like they are stuffed with rags or early lumpy batting. Their faces are both sewn on and have the best expressions. Their ... morehands and feet are prominent and the momma has mitten hands. They are both hand sewn and their clothes are both hand sewn and treadle sewn with some repairs and wear as expected with genuine age of old textiles from this era. Some stains on both with dark aging spots on the momma's blue calico dress. Check out the pics for more details as I said. I can assure you these are both much better in person than my pics show. SO sweet and all original. Some little girl probably carried these around a farm back in the days when toys were home made and not store bought when people made do with what they had and life was so simple. These early rag dolls are getting very hard to find these days and people who collect them are holding on to them so you don't find these very often as you probably know if you look for them. Clean and from a smoke free and pet free home so no allergies. What can you do with these? Please message me with any questions you have prior to bidding or buying. These will not be relisted so buy early if you want them or she may change her mind about selling them. If my son was not in college right now I would buy them from her for my own collection of earlies.

Antique Vtg Hand Hammered Mission Copper Chargers (Set Of 3) I Lb Each aafa
Although these chargers are unmarked. I believe they were made in the USA. Each one measures 12 inches and weighs one pound 2 ounces. They are just beautiful! Use marks you expect to see in copper items from this era, They can be polished or left to acquire patina. One some light scratch I do not know if this happened while they were being produced, it does not detract from the beauty, in my opinion. All have marks you expect to see in handmade items, and a wonderful glow! If you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you!
ANTIQUE ORIGINAL EARLY BLUE CALICO WINTER PRAIRIE COUNTRY FARM WORK DRESS AAFA
This is a sweet early winter prairie farm dress made from the best old blue calico ever. Check out the pics for more info. I had it on loan to a living history museum and just got it back last week. If you have been looking for one don't miss this. It's one of a kind and much better in person than my pics show. I won't be relisting it so if you want it buy early or I may decide to keep it with my collection of early blues. I've had it for a long time but have had many emails from buyers wanting some wearable early clothing for reenactments and shows. This one is prim perfect for just that! Originally from New England this is an old one. It is both hand and treadle sewn. It has an inside muslin bodice lining that buttons with early buttons. There is a chin strap button around the neck that can be adjusted. It also buttons down ... morethe front. It ties around the waist either in the front or back. It can be used as a fitted dress if tied up front or a maternity type dress if tied in the back. It has been worn with an apron in the past. Overall it is still in very good shape and the fabric is strong and totally wearable as I said. Many years of life left in this treasure. It has been hand washed in the past with lye soap and does have some lighter spots on the sleeves and in the back from that type of wash but nothing to apologize for. It only authenticates the age of this early dress and adds to the character and charm of this sweet find. This measures about 44 inches long from shoulder to hem. It measures about 16 inches between the puffy prairie raised shoulder seams across the back. The waist is huge like a maternity dress so it will fit just about any size you need depending on how you tie the waist ties. These dresses in good shape like this one are very hard to find if you have been looking for one you probably already have found they are scarce. Also the winter weight calico is very rare to find. I've never seen another one like this and I've owned a lot of early calico dresses in various c

A great find for your collection of earlies or if you are a doll maker you can use this fabric to make some wonderful clothing for your next project. I never had the heart to cut it up because it is SO sweet and much better in person than my pics show. Originally from Lancaster County. Pennsylvania this is an old one. It is both hand and treadle sewn. Wonderful gray overall with blue ties on the inside and outside that tuck in to hide them so an apron could be worn over it comfortably. No buttons of course because true Amish clothing never has buttons as you probably know if you collect these wonderful hard to find pieces of American history. This is lined at the bottom with some wonderful old black linsey woolsey type fabric to keep the cold winter air out. A very ... moreunique style for sure. This measures about 48 inches long from shoulder to hem. It measures about 14 inches between shoulder seams across the back. The waist measures about 22 inches across when laying flat and it can be adjusted to be bigger or smaller depending on how tight you choose to tie the inside and outside ties. This is in great shape for it's age with wear and light fading as expected with an early wool dress of this age. Antique Child's 19th C. Primitive Mahogany Chest of Drawers-Folk Art- AAFA
Read all of this and look at all the photos. This little mahogany childs chest of drawers came out of a Boulder estate last week. All original. Nothing altered little chest is 10 1/16" back to front and 13 1/8" side to side, and 13 1/2" high, with the back splash 2 1/2" The alligator finish is irregular and has a water stain on the top. I didn't want to mess with it. This little gem looks like 1850 period and east coast origin. We do see things in Boulder from early Pennsylvania. Certainly no later than 1870. It has many hand cut small nails that have bled into the wood. The four drawers have been painted pink inside at a later period and measure app. 8 x 11 x 2 1/2. The lower left front rail is partially missing and the right back rail is missing. There is an old crack on the top. They really do not distract from ... morethe piece. The sides are slightly curved. The secondary wood is pine. Again. This is a wonderful little chest in unrestored condition that was likely made on a farm on the east coast 150 years ago. It has a bigger presence than the photos show. This wowed me when I saw it, and you will not be disappointed. It will be double boxed and well packed.
