Antique General Store Leather Book Journal Ledger PA 1873 Calligraphy AAFA
This is a BEAUTIFUL ledger that came from a General Store in Pennsylvania. On page one it begins with January 1873 and the ledger ends in 1877. Every page is full of beautiful calligraphy- naming EACH item that was purchased- for example. Nails.10, Tobacco.10, Wood Pail.25, Mattress 6.50, Mirror 3.00, Sled 4.00, etc. each page is full of the items bought) see pictures) The calligraphy is beautiful- it looks like it was"penned" by the same person until May of 1877 and then someone else"penned" the remainder. The outside is a VERY soft leather with embossing. The edges of the pages are decorated. There are some torn parts of the leather on the top front right hand corner and the back top left hand corner(I have included pictures of these) Then there are some worn spots on the corner of the cover but these are not noticeable ... moreat all. I have included pictures of these. This book just absolutely'speaks to you' I can just feel how much time was put into recording every single sale of every single item at this PA store. On the spine is a red leather piece naming it as a JOURNAL and then a black leather piece without any designation on that piece. The book measures 13.5 inches in length. 8.75 inches in width and 1.5 inches in depth. I try to describe my items to the best of my ability. All of my items are sold as-is. Please take time to look at all the pictures closely and ask any questions you might have. Also note my PayPal payment preference and the 24-hour turn-around if payment is received promptly. Thank you. AAFA means Antique Americana and Folk Art and is used as a short cut to finding items that are true antiques. Not reproductions, and are American. Simply search on AAFA and find all types of American antiques. I will only use the AAFA designation for items which fit the criteria. 0fe.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d70f%2B%3E0fe-14795de89fa-0x10d-

Early Primitive Antique Blacksmith Made Sad Iron Flat Iron 7 1/2 lbs AAFA
Early Primitive Antique Blacksmith Made Sad Iron Flat Iron 7 1/2 lbs AAFA So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! Oh. This is one of my favorites this week. It's an early antique sad iron- blacksmith made, and 7 1/2 lbs heavy- what an amazing piece! You could use it for a door stop if you don't collect irons! It measures 7 1/8" front to back, 1 3/4" wide and 5 3/4" tall. The user of this iron would have had to wrap the handle with a pad or rags in order to use it, as it's all ironironiron ... moreand would have gotten hot! It's in excellent solid and sturdy condition- totally STURDY with lots of nicks(I'm showing a close up of the largest in photo 20- and they are small) nibbles, divots(some long shallow ones on one side- you can see them in my first photos) and pits to the iron. It has spots of surface rust all over- they are very old, very dark, very surface and just part of the patina of this piece. The white spot on the top edge of one side, I do believe, is a bird plop! I'm showing in photo 6 that I scratched it when taking a photo and it easily scratched- so it will come off. The iron is dusty and cobwebby and could use a good bath- I do not clean or mess with as found patina in any way. This is a very cool and very old piece- a piece of utilitarian folk art to me. I do believe I would have gone wrinkled. Customer Satisfaction is extremely important to me. If you receive an item and are not satisfied in any way. Please contact me before leaving feedback. Please ask if you have any questions. Or feel free to inform me if you have any information about one of my listings. As with any of my items, if you ever need extra photos, let me know. I’m happy
Unusual Primitive Antique Hand Forged Twisted Iron Wire Kitchen Tool Fork AAFA
Unusual Primitive Antique Hand Forged Twisted Iron Wire Kitchen Tool Fork AAFA So. This one is so unusual. Mostly because I don't know what DA heck it was used for- but the person that made it did. And that's all that counts! What I have is an antique, hand forged iron wire kitchen fork of some sorts- this isn't the wimpy/bendy wire that you sometimes have with wireware, this one was made to WORK and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The double twisted ... morewire loops to form the handle, then twists decoratively and for support down to where it opens up to form the 4 tines of the fork at one end- isn't it cool? It measures 15 1/4" long in total and is 2 7/8" wide at both the handle and the fork. The tines are 2 1/4 long and are rounded, not sharp, at the ends. It weighs 1/2 lb, so it's pretty heavy for it's size. It has an age darkened patina and I THINK I see peeks of silver finish- it may have had a silver finish at one time, I see it in the crevices of the twists and where the handle meets the twists- see what you think. The tines show their age in the darkdark patina- it shows surface rust in spots that is so old, dark and smooth, it's just part of the patina of this oldee. It's dusty, and could use a good cleaning- I have not cleaned or messed with the as found patina in any way. I bet you don't have one! Customer Satisfaction is extremely important to me. If you receive an item and are not satisfied in any way. Please contact me before leaving feedback. Please ask if you have any questions. Or feel free to inform me if you have any information about one of my listings. As with any of my items,

EXCEPTIONAL SHERATON 1800 – 1820 CRICKET FOOTSTOOL AAFA
EXCEPTIONAL SHERATON 1800- 1820 CRICKET FOOTSTOOL AAFA Stools were generally made by chair-makers and we see styles following the styles of chairs including Windsor styles. They were separated into three groups based upon their height. The lowest was a footstool or cricket. Measuring no more than 12” tall. Period bills of sales show us that Americans were buying“Crickets covered with carpeting. As well as being a place for adults to rest their feet while sitting they were also used as chairs for the children. It is easy to imagine a small child sitting on this cricket in front of the fireplace reading a book or listening to the conversation around them. This particular cricket had a covering over the top. More than likely some sort of carpeting which can be easily replaced. Beyond this it is in totally original condition. The four legs are ... moresplayed and decorated in black and gold to go along with the painted chairs of the Sheraton Period. The top is painted black on the bottom and up the four splayed sides. One of the legs is a little loose, it sits evenly on the floor. The measurements are 12" long X 6 5/8" wide X 7" tall. The top is 1 1/2" thick. This is one of the nicest foot stools I have ever owned. If you have any questions or concerns please e-mail me. Thanks for your interest. ANTIQUE VTG COPPER CAST IRON LIGHTNING ROD WEATHERVANE AAFA FOLKART AMERICANA
This is a wonderful VINTAGE ANTIQUE LIGHTNING ROD. DIRECTIONAL WEATHERVANE WITH COUNTRY PRIMITIVE HOLLOW ROOSTER THAT HAS GREAT DETAIL. The weathervane was made for a barn or cupola and is circa 1900, if I had to guess. The directional rod seems to be cast iron, the lightning rod seems to be copper and the rooster is made of what, I think, is zinc. The weathervane is 34" tall and is 23" wide at the arrow. The bottom stand has 2 mounting holes for screws on each leg and the rooster is 10 1/4" tall and 7 1/2" wide. The weathervane is in very nice condition with a very small dent in the lightning rod and there might be a repair on the directional rod. There is a glob of something on it by the arrow. I cannot see what it is because of the paint so I am not sure. It might just be a weight. I have to say, that I did not notice ... moreit when I bought it years ago. The weathervane is a great piece of Americana and would made a great architectural addition to your home or it has many more years of being a weathervane. There is some flakes of paint missing but I love the weathered look. Email me with any questions.
RARE ANTIQUE VINTAGE PURDUE COLLEGE OFFICIAL PROGRAM SPORTS PROGRAM APRON AAFA
This is a wonderful apron from Purdue. All original and as found many years ago at a farm sale. Looks like it was originally used for sporting events to hand out programs at ball games. Check out the pics for more info and details. Measures about 12 inches long and 16 inches across not counting ties. Has two pockets on the front that were used for programs. Has team logos on each pocket. Such a neat old piece of history and made from the best old Purdue colors in old denim weight canvas duck cloth. Some spots and old stains but is clean all over and has been washed. From a pet free and smoke free home. What can you do with this one? It is a survivor from days gone by and I've never seen another one like it anywhere. It came from an Indiana farm sale many years ago where the son must have went to Purdue for college before returning home ... moreto run the family farming business. He must have played sports too. If you are a Purdue fan and collect old sports memorabilia this one displays great with your other early treasures. If you love vintage clothing this is also a great addition to that collection for sure. Message me with any questions prior to bidding or buying. All sales final and as described. No returns or refunds. Paypal payment is expected within 24 hours of end of listing. Fast Shipping!
Antique Cast Iron Cow Steer Pull Push Toy with Folk Art Wagon AAFA Longhorn NR

Primitive Antique Turned Wood Folk Art Candle Holder AAFA Signed E Zoller
Primitive Antique Turned Wood Folk Art Candle Holder AAFA Signed E Zoller Love this one. It's a turned wood antique candle holder that was hand made. And signed on the bottom E Zoller. I have to tell you, I think it may have been a later family member, not the maker who signed it(or maybe he signed it later? as it appears to be signed in contemporary pen. It it is a beautiful rustic piece of old utilitarian folk art. Made of solid wood and with a fabulous age darkened patina, it measures 8 1/2' tall, 4" diameter at the base and 13/16" diameter at the mouth- measuring on the inside of the walls so you know what size candle you need. It weighs 1/2 lb. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally- no wiggles or jiggles. It has rustic wear to the finsish- scratches, scrapes, nicks, dings and finish wear. And of ... morecourse, if you have watched my listings from this auction, it has candle wax drips- not that bad, though- the worst I'm showing you in photo 8- it will come off. The inside of the well really doesn't have that much wax that I can see or feel- really minimal. The piece is reallyreallyreally dusty- you can see in on the base in my photos 5 and 8 especially- I have not cleaned or messed with as found patina in any way. It's a fabulous old primitive Americana utilitarian folk art piece- loveitloveitloveit! Customer Satisfaction is extremely important to me. If you receive an item and are not satisfied in any way. Please contact me before leaving feedback. Please ask if you have any questions. Or feel free to inform me if you have any information about one of my listings. Primitive Antique Hand Made Solid Tiger Oak Wall Mount Comb Box Candle Box AAFA
Primitive Antique Hand Made Solid Tiger Oak Wall Mount Comb Box Candle Box AAFA It's another one of my favorites this week- actually. Oak is my favorite wood, and if it shows it's gorgeous tiger graining, I'm over the moon- and this one shows it on all sides. It's solid wood, not veneer- you can see the graining on the back of the piece too, and it holds the weight of solid oak at a smidge under 2 lbs. It's a hand made piece- made to mount on the wall and work as an open top storage box for combs or candles, it has a hole at the top for mounting, and a lovely decorative cut border all around. I do believe that the front of the box itself may have come off of something else- like a sewing machine, or something like that- but it's solid wood, not veneer, so I'm not completely sure. I'm showing in photo 11 that ... morethe sides are not oak, they are pine, I'm guessing, and if you look at them left, then right, you'll see that they do not match. The one on the left very textured in it's horizontal grains of the wood, the one on the right, smooth, with an X carved into the wood lightly on the side(you have to look close to notice it) and that piece of wood recesses for 1/2" at the back where it meets the backpiece(see photo 21) I don't know if that's original to the piece of wood on that side, or if it's a shallow chip, but it's not easy to notice unless you are looking closely at the side, and it's all part of the story of this primitive oldee. It measures 11 3/4" at its widest, 9 3/4" tall at the center, the box is 9 5/8" wide by 2 5/8" deep on the outside and 8" by 2 1/8" by 1 7/8" tall on the inside walls. It is in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition, with lots of rustic wear to the wood, but the finish is really in nice shape- some scratches and scrapes(see photo 2 for the small one under the mounting hole) that are minor- but not a lot either. I'm showing in photo 22 that if you look on the back wall

The sides gather with the buttons and can be adjusted. It doesn't have ties and I'm not sure it ever did. It may have been more like a dust cap but it's definitely a bonnet because of the front brim and overall design. It has been worn and has some old stains on it but has been cleaned and starched and all buttons are there on it and are original. It is all treadle and hand sewn. Has some fading and wear spots that only enhance it's value as it is old and original and wonderful just like ... moreit is. I think it was probably a work bonnet or dust bonnet as I said because of the style. This measures 10 inches long from top to back of neck when laying flat and is about 9 inches deep from front to back. The perfect size for a small child or a doll if you need one for that. Just SO sweet and being small makes it all better too. I have some great ladies bonnets listed but the child's clothing is still my favorite stuff ever and especially the blues like this one. From a smoke free and pet free home. Sold as is and as found. Please message me with any questions you have prior to bidding or buying. No returns or refunds. Fast shipping! Thanks for viewing my sales here on eBay. I'm having a sale. My son has more tuition due at his college very soon so when that happens I always part with great stuff from my personal collection. What do you collect? Message me if you are looking for anything special as I may just have it tucked away to list next for you. Many Blessings!
ANTIQUE 19th C PIECED QUILT GREAT COLORS – AAFA
This classic antique New England scrap quilt is very well done in soft. Earth toned colors and still retains its original binding. Measuring approximately 82.5” by 82.5” it is in surprisingly good unfaded condition with only 2 blocks showing surface tears. see pics) No other holes, wear or apologies that I see on the front. Some light surface dirst, but given that this is probably circa 1860-1890, that’s to be expected. A fine example of early fabrics. Please see the pic showing the arrangement of two fabrics to form an abstract American flag image. Thin batting and largely outline quilting with some shape repetition to the quilting inside the pieces. I think it is machine pieced but is definitely hand quilted. Some staining on the back. But I truly do not see where any of it came through to the front anywhere. As found TODAY directly from ... morean old hope chest here in northwest Ct. Please see all pics and understand that this is a 19 th c textile with the inherent quirks of the time period. Never offered for sale elsewhere nor on ebay before. Buyer pays exact shipping– if it is more than a dollar less than the quoted price. I will refund any shipping overpayment. I pay insurance in lower 48. Payment by paypal please and within 5 days of auctions end. Thank you. NOTE: if you are unhappy with any purchase from us, please contact us through the ebay email before opening a case. 1903 GASOLINE Powered SAD IRON "The Monitor" STEAM-PUNK Laundry Room Gas aafa NR

Lake and his son. John, were the owners of the company and they received their patent April 14, 1903. This iron was of ingenious yet simple design. It was comprised of a shoe or ironing surface which was chromed and highly polished. The upper frame was a hollow casting into white gasoline was injected ... moreunder pressure to fuel a flame withing the casting. The atomized liquid was injected through a brass casting called a generator which consisted of the casting and a needle-valve control to adjust the flow of the fuel. The fuel was supplied from a small holding tank mounted just in front of the handle of the iron. Late 1700s Embossed Wood Utensil / Knife Tray NEW ENGLAND Original Patina AAFA
Late 1700s Embossed Wood Utensil/ Knife Tray with Original Patina AAFA From Massachusetts. Beautiful antique portable utensil kitchen box. Late 1700s. All original. With no repairs. Wood is embossed with a design on all four sides and on the interior bottom. The patina on this piece is rich from much use in its age. The handle section has clear wear on the wood from use to add to the character. There are a few random spots of wear on the top edges and corners. Please see photo. The tray is light in weight. The wood is probably pine. We would classify this as a"handle-with-care" item. It is complete and all joints are secure. The handle part has a very small(approximately 1/8" degree of side to side movement. But it is fully secure to the piece. It is in remarkable condition for its age. Measures 11" base length.
