Vtg Watt Pottery Rooster Ice Bucket Rare Hand Painted Yelloware Primitive AAFA
This is one of my prized possessions. But I am letting it go, as I am downsizing, so thinning out my collection. I have had this ice bucket for many years. It is unique because it has paint brush strokes on the front under the glaze. Of course it was a mistake by the artist, but it is under the glaze, so was done in production. There are no chips, nicks or cracks that I can find. There are indentions in the pottery in the inside bottom, but again, from production. There is crazing, especially if you look at the piece with a magnifying glass. Any glaze pops or other flaws would be from production. It does show rubs around the top edge of the bucket. I am trying to be as honest about this piece as I can. The bucket is 7 3/4" diameter and about 5 3/4" high without lid. With lid, the piece is 7" high. Great piece to add to your ... morecollection! SMALL UNUSUAL ANTIQUE CT FRUIT BASKET THEME SAMPLER – SHAKER INFLUENCED ? AAFA
This tiny sampler was originally found in Wethersfield Ct about 40 years ago per the daughter of the first owner. Years earlier. There had been a Shaker community in nearby Enfield. I do not believe this is a section of a larger sampler as you can see that the top of the tree slightly overlaps the hem stitched top edge of the fabric. I’m thinking it may have been a practice piece worked on scrap to practice the stitching techniques needed for a larger piece. It is VERY Shaker–like in the linear form. Red and green woven basket base similar to the woven seats on many chairs they made, and the small tree of life leaf-like attributes. Unfortunately. Without a specific provenance this is just guesswork. It also has a great, Christmas tree feel to it, so who knows. A colorful charmer through and through regardless of origin. Size is 6” by 6” FRAMED. ... moreBuyer pays exact shipping. Payment by paypal please and within 5 days of auctions end.

EARLY CHILD'S LADDERBACK ARM CHAIR IN OLD PAINT, AAFA, NR
Please be sure to view all photos. Read the item description and ask questions prior to bidding* Wonderfully primitive. But intact, early child's ladder back arm chair that shows evidence of many layers of worn old paint in its history. I can see that it once was painted a blue, a gray and a white paint with evidence of brown under the white on the woven seat. It is all original. The bottoms of the legs show uneven wear so it will not sit flat on a flat surface without a wobble so I have placed pads on the bottoms of two of the legs so it will sit evenly and I will leave these pads in place should it sell, but they can be easily removed if desired. The woven seat is in good condition with one break.not absolutely sure what the woven material is.though it is thick and sturdy. The seat rises 6 1/2" from the floor and the ladder back ... moreis 20 1/4" high to the tops of the primitive finials. Waiting for a good primitive home where it will be an attention-getter. It is coarse and ungraceful to throw food into the mouth as you would toss hay into a barn with a pitchfork. The word fork comes from the Latin"furca" for"Pitch Fork. The Two Prong twig was perhaps the first fork. The modern table setting is attributed to Charles I of England who in 1633 declared. It is decent to use a fork, a statement that heralded the beginning of civilized table manners. It was not until nearly a century later that the fork gained acceptance among the lower class. The first dinner forks were made with two flat prongs. The earliest two-prong fork to bear an ... moreEnglish hallmark and engraved with the coat of arms date to 1632. But when it came to spearing certain foods, such as peas and grains, the widely spaced two-prong fork was impractical, and between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries the tines increased in number from two to three and then to four. Moreover, from the late seventeenth century to the eighteenth century the profile of the fork changed from flat to slightly curved in shape that accommodated a scoop of soft food, such as peas. The Antique Forks are Wrought Iron made by blacksmith and have a beautiful primitive detail and style. The Antique Forks are slightly curved which makes them American. The bowl on the Antique Forks have beautiful shape and form and have both elegance and grace. There is a glorious primitive patina on the wrought iron and the Antique Fork Handles are made of Animal Horn. There is tiny Copper Rivet in each Antique Fork Handle for stability and wear. Nothing was left unnoticed by the Maker of these Beautiful Early Antique Table Forks. They were so very well made and have survived the test of time. AAFA-Old quilt-great old fabric-minor wear
This is a 5 day auction. This auction is for a very old probably circa 1880's or earlier hand stitched quilt. The fabric is very old and the quilt is in pretty good shape for it's age. There are some stains as shown in pictures 3.4& 5 as well as some yellowing on the back. This old quilt needs a good cleaning but I will leave that up to the buyer. It is in the colors of burgundy, green, blue, yellow, orange, white and purple. The measurements are 66 x 77. There are two little holes as shown in picture 8 but they can be patched and the quilt will be very useable and strong. After cleaning this could be used on a bed or it looks great folded on a shelf with other quilts as I had it. There is no reserve on this and a very low opening bid considering the age of this quilt. I am downsizing my collections to move so all these things ... moremust go. Please wait to send payment until you receive an invoice from us since we charge actual shipping and insurance with no handling fee. eBay makes us put a weight for each item but it's impossible to know before the item is packed and weighed and the one listed will probably be wrong. We prefer USPS priority or economy shipping but will examine other venues to save you money. According to eBay's rules. We only accept PayPal. We are always glad to combine shipping as long as you let us know that you are planning on bidding on another item. We accept returns on items that are not as described but want you to be satisfied so please let us know the problem and we will work it out to our mutual satisfaction. We will leave feedback as soon as the buyer does so we are sure the buyer is satisfied. Thank you.

Best Antique 19th C. Large Hand-Pieced Quilt Top Hundreds of Pieces! AAFA Mint!
This is a very large antique quilt top. Recent Maine attic find, never used and in perfect condition-just amazing! It measures approx. 82" by 84" and I have shown it photographed on top of my full bed. There is actually another quilt and bedding underneath the quilt top, so this antique top is quite large and would fit a queen when finished off. It has many hundreds of pieces, all perfect with no stains, odors, or tears. Each little triangle and square is hand-sewn-there is no machine sewing on this top. The fabrics are all very crisp and bright in color-never washed or used. My photos do not do this awesome 19th c. textile justice-it is very bright and vivid in person-absolutely guaranteed antique fabrics. There are even a few of the paper pieces used to stabilize the small pieces when sewing, still in place on a few of the triangles-they ... moreare late 19th century advertising papers, kind of fun to still see, but will remove easily if desired! I wish I knew what the name of this pattern is, as it is unfamiliar to me-very striking though and made by an expert quilter-not a beginner, as the stitches are very small and uniform! Shipping will be $10.00 to include careful packing with insurance. Thanks for looking and good luck!
Antique 1903 The Monitor GASOLINE SAD IRON Heat Powered Clothing Steam Punk aafa
Antique 1903 The Monitor GASOLINE SAD IRON Heat Powered Clothing Steam Punk aafa Number 2 from my mother's collection of antique irons is a very unique and rare iron that was made of cast iron in Big Prairie. Ohio and was called"The Monitor" The Monitor was a gasoline powered sad iron that had an attached handle and a gasoline tank built onto either the front of the iron to provide continuous heat. This gasoline powered iron was an improvement over the heavy hand-held flatiron/sad iron that was heated on a stove and then moved to the ironing board by a detachable wooden handle. D. A. Lake and his son. John, were the owners of the company and they received their patent April 14, 1903. AAFA Carpet Box , Circa 1860s, Original Upholstery Tacks, Unusual, Contents
Here is an unusual Victorian handmade keepsake- probably one of a kind. It is similar in looks to a carpet bag. But is a small open box or bowl made from period Victorian carpet and a wooden bottom added with upholstery carpet tacks. There is a binding around the top edge that is cracked from age and one corner somewhat rougher than the rest. Still a very unique piece to display Victorian treasures, as photos, letters, rag balls or whatever. Does it come with the contents shown? of course.I picked the rag ball especially to compliment the colors in the carpet! Measurements are approximate: 3.5 inches high by 4 to 4.5 inches wide.

Antique A C Williams Co Sad Iron Ravenna Ohio Cast Iron Removable Handle aafa NR
Antique A C Williams Co Sad Iron Ravenna Ohio Cast Iron Removable Handle aafa NR The A. C. Williams Company started in business in Chagrin Falls. Ohio in 1844 making chain pump reels, spouts, and plow points. In a few years the company began making a wood burning stove called"The Empire" and bought pig iron from Youngstown's Governor Tod. In 1886 the company added a line of sad irons with wood handles. Then in 1889 the plant was destroyed by fire. He rebuilt the factory and then again in 1892 everything was destroyed by fire. Then in 1892-93 a plant was erected in Ravenna, Ohio. The Panic of 1893 struck and he had to shut the plant down for several months. On reopening he found the demand for sad irons diminishing and knew that a change of products was needed. He began nickel plating and also produced some small models for his ... moretraveling salesmen. These small irons, a convenience for the salesman, were the start of the toy business for the A. C.
