EVERYBODY'S GUIDE; Or. Things Worth Knowing. Comprising Valuable Recipes, Information, and Tables for the Farmer, Mechanic, Merchant, Lawywer and ... moreDoctor, and all Classes of Workers in Every Department of Human Effort. By R. Moore. Illustrated. Published in 1884 by The World, New York. 7.5" x 5" cloth hardcover, with marbled finish. 410 pages. Condition: GOOD ANTIQUE CONDITION. Exterior has minor wear as shown in photo. Binding is firm. Inner hinges strong. Text block firm. Text is clean and complete. Front blank endpaper is missing. No torn or loose pages. Good example of this scarce 130-year-old recipe and how-to book. Description: This is an early Victorian recipe book published for the use of home-makers. Farmers, shop-keepers, tradesmen, craftsmen, artisans- everybody, in fact, just as the title states. EVERYBODY'S GUIDE is a rare treasury of practical. Useful and long-lost recipes and how-to instructions. The quantity of information this book contains is staggering: Recipes for cooking and preparing meat and fowl. Cake, pie and pastry recipes. Confectionery and candy recipes. Recipes for beer and wine-making. And much, much more. Including cures and first aid. Household hints. Farm facts and fixes. Bee Keeping. How to make all kinds of dyes. A lengthy section on watch-making and watch/clock repair, jewelry making, gold and silver plating, gold and alloys, etc. Practical information and advice for tradesmen and mill owner/operators. And much, much more. Down below you’ll see that I tried my best to give you some idea of just how extensive the range of information is in this book. I went as far as I could– and still more than half of what’s in this book didn’t make it on to this page! It isn’t often that a book defies my ability to fully describe its contents. But this is one of those occasions. So after you spend a few minutes browsing through the summaries I created below, pause and remind yourself that we’ve only scratched the surface of the 19th-century wisdom contained herein. Good luck,

~ 1ST ED 1912 MOWBRAY TITANIC NAUTICAL MARITIME ANTIQUES RARE WHITE STAR LINE ~
~ FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION~"Sinking of the Titanic ~ Thrilling Stories Told By Survivors ~ MEMORIAL EDITION" ~ By Jay Henry Mowbray. 1912 This book has a very rare alternate cover. With a rendering of a sinking Titanic and survivors in lifeboats in the foreground(the usual cover has a photo of the ship broadside) That said, I would have to say that the cover and spine are in pretty poor shape, as the photos suggest, with faded titles, bumping to corners, unraveling of cloth at the very top and bottom of the spine. The pages and photographs within the book are in quite good shape, with just a bit of browning. All pages are intact and bright, with no writing. I accept paypal. Please email with any questions. Shipping to destinations other than USA will be more costly.

New York: The International Press Syndicate. 1920, 310[2] pp. black title on green cloth. Although the Times-Mirror Press version that came out three years later(1923) is sometimes claimed as the First, this version is the true First Edition. It contains 32 pages of photographs of actors, primarily in Shakespearian roles, including Warde himself, Edwin Booth, Adelaide Neilson, H.J. Montague, Maurice Barrymore, Lillian Russell, and Louis James. Cracking to front and back hinges, but binding generally very good otherwise except for loose photograph. Printed on high acidic paper, this book holds up well considering. From Wikipedia: Frederick Barkham Warde(1851–1935) ... morewas an English Shakespearian actor who relocated to the United States in the late 19th century. In the late 1870s he partnered with actor Maurice Barrymore and the two agreed to tour plays around the United States. Warde would have one section of the country while Barrymore and his company toured the other. For a time the venture was very successful. Warde had two notable film achievements. One being the"discovery" of Douglas Fairbanks Sr. and persuading him to move from Denver to join Warde's New York City actors troupe. The second achievement was as the star of Richard III(1912) Based on the play by William Shakespeare. This 55-minute film was re-discovered in 1996 by a private film collector who donated it to the American Film Institute archive. The film is thought to be the earliest surviving American feature film. In 1916 Warde filmed another Shakespearean tragedy. King Lear. For the Thanhouser company. This film also exists. 1] In 1917 he appeared in a Pathe film Under False Colors with an up and coming beauty named Jeanne Eagels. 2] Another of his films was A Lover's Oath(filmed in 1921 and premiered four years later) Opposite Ramon Novarro.
