CHAIN NOTE: We have many chains available which would fit this pendant. You may request a complimentary gold electroplate chain in lengths from 16 to 24 inches. We also have available chains in 14kt gold fill and 14kt solid gold in lengths from 16 to 30 inches. DETAIL: Some ancient cultures believed that rubies. As well as other gemstones, grew on trees, just like fruit. The rubies would begin budding as small white gems, and would slowly grow and ripen, turning red in the light of the sun. When the ruby was saturated with red color, it was ready to be plucked. In the classical ancient world, rubies from Afghanistan, Ceylon, India and Burma were traded in the ancient port cities of the Eastern Mediterranean(often by Phoenicians) and from there traveled throughout Europe. However it is believed that most of the ancient world’s ruby came from Ceylon, where evidence suggests ruby may have been mined for the past 20,000 years. Archaeologists have uncovered ancient Etruscan jewelry with Celanese ruby which dates back to the seventh century B.C. However scientists believe that ruby has also been mined in Burma since Paleolithic and Neolithic times as well, as mining tools have been excavated by archaeologists dating both to the Bronze Age as well as backwards into the Stone Age. Here are seven genuine natural red ruby faceted rounds. Gorgeous. Vibrant, and beautifully hued, these striking precious gemstones are of reasonably good quality, and possess wonderful color. The seven natural red rubies are accented with a single 1mm round

Its name, Sahara, is an English pronunciation of the word for desert in Arabic. The boundaries of the Sahara are the Atlantic Ocean on the west. The Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea on the north, the Red Sea and Egypt on the east, and the Sudan and the valley of the Niger River on the south. ... moreThe Sahara is divided into western Sahara, the central Ahaggar Mountains, the Tibesti Mountains, the Aïr Mountains(a region of desert mountains and high plateaus) Tenere desert and the Libyan desert(the most arid region) The highest peak in the Sahara is Emi Koussi(3415 m) in the Tibesti Mountains in northern Chad. 36 Sahara Neolithic relics - tools, celt, beads, and 1 paleolithic tool.
This group of 36 Sahara Neolithic relics. Plus a Paleolithic Aterian tool, is composed of diverse types of relics, which were discovered on ancient habitation sites deep in the western Sahara desert, mostly in the vicinity of northern Muaratania/Mali but also includes three trianglar Eiffel Tower points from Algeria. This group consist of several types and subtypes of projectile points from varying periods of the Neolithic era. Including ovate, stemmed, triangular, and unifacial tool forms. In all there are 22 stone projectile points and tools, 11 hard-stone beads(mostly quartz disc beads) one pottery bead(western Mauratania) one hardstone celt, and a cylindrical labret thought to be used in body piercing or lips or ears. The unifacial tool seen at the bottom middle. It is from the late Mesolithic era or early Neolithic Morocco, dating to ... moreapproximately 7,000 years Before Present. It was probably longer at one time, if broken it was does anciently as the straight end is unifirm and smooth. At the upper right you will see an Auterian tool from the Sahara. This is the earlier known type of stone tool with a stem for hafting. Probably to serve as a knife/scrapper. Tips are often worked around for scrapping(not broken, in my opinion) as is this one. This relic is a good 30,000 years old, possibly much older. This is one of the more diverse offering of ancient Sahara relics you will find in one lot. The shortest point is a triangle of 3/4th inch(20 mm) long odd-ball point. The longest tool is the unifacial tool at the bottom. It is 1 15/16th inches(47 mm) long. The celt is 1 1/8th inches(30 mm) long. Heel to bit. It has been worked down to a stubby form with a bit dulled from usage. Th ese are everyday work tools and adornments used. And lost or discarded by our Neolithic and earlier hunter-gatherer ancestors. They are all honest, authentic relics in good shape, some will exhibit minor ancient damage(as seen in he photograph) Such as dings, usually to tips, tangs, and/or barbs to stemmed points. Small dings

9 better Sahara Neolithic points and tools
Lot Description: This is a nice group of 8 mostly. Larger and nicer diverse Sahara desert found tools. This lot is composed of a much better than average. Diverse projectile points types including triangular, ovate, and stemmed projectile points and/or tools. Most of these tools were found in the southwestern Sahara( Mauritania/Mali) There is one Eiffel Tower point from Algeria(right in middle) These tools were used to hunt and process water fowl and other game in the now dried up lakes of the Sahara 4.000 years ago. The shortest point is 15/16th inch long(24 mm) The longest tool is 1 7/8th inches(47mm) The condition is very good. There may be a minor ancient ding or two, as can be expected with working tools, most are complete. See picture for detail. The color in hand. Is better than the picture indicates. The natural light somehow washes ... moreout the color(especially whites) or maybe it's my photography skills. These relics are representative of everyday tools. Many of these tools were used until they could no longer function well because they were to small to re-sharpen at which point they were discarded others were lost in the hunt. A nice diverse sampling of Sahara tools! Background information is provided with my 2-page essay on the subject. Which will be included. Neolithic populations living near now dried lakes and rivers in what is now the Sahara desert; used these tools in the hunt for and processing of waterfowl and small game. The end of the Ice Age resulted in global climate changes which stopped the rains and forced these Neolithic(New Stone Age) peoples into new modes of existence. Either agriculture which was just beginning at the end of the Neolithic, or a nomadic animal husbandry mode of existence. The New Stone Age was a very dynamic era giving rise to agriculture, pottery, and permanent settlements, all of which were milestones in humankinds march toward'civilized' life. The Sahara Neolithic lasted from 9,000 to 4,000 BP(years Before Present) I will include my 2-page essay on the Sa

NEOLITHIC AGED STONE LONG LEAF shaped ARROWHEAD
NEOVENATOR Possibly the UK's biggest killer dinosaur. It once roamed the areas of Southern England around 120 million years ago. Preying on the herds of Iguanodon and also, I would imagine, the numerous long necked sauropods that were around at this time. It is related to the T-Rex busting Carcharodontosaurus. THIS IS A GENUINE ANCIENT ARTEFACT NEOLITHIC ARROWHEAD Period: Neolithic/ Early Bronze Age Age: circa 3.000 years BC Material: Silica rich rock Location: Sahara desert. North Africa Relaxing in the comforts of our own homes. It is easy to forget how hard life must have been 5,000 to 3,000 years ago. We can only try to appreciate the conditions that these'stone age' people had to face. But, by attempting to compare the documentaries about certain lost tribes, like those of the Kalahari bush men and the Australian aborigines, ... moreit gives us a brief insight in to the possible lives of these ancient people. A lot of people say that modern man has lost some of his primitive instincts and senses over time e.g. the ability to make contact with the'spirit world' etc. These are all fascinating subjects in their own right. But the craftsmanship in preparing a small piece of stone with such precision, such as this arrowhead, with only the use of primitive implements is incredible. I think we severely underestimate our ancestors too often. But first. A bit about the way they were made and the people that made them: Arrowhead Production: In order to achieve the desired implement. Different methods of manufacture were used. But first, the selection of the finest materials was required. Neolithic man was very particular about the type of materials he used. In deed, he went to great lengths to obtain these. In Norfolk, Grimes Caverns, near Weeting, there are Neolithic mine shafts in the chalk cliffs where a particular high grade flint was mined, despite other, easier accessible flint veins being present. From this raw material, the stone was prepared into a'core' and this is referred to as'dres
