I believe this once was a part of an old Victorian bed or mirror as it has 2 screw or nail holes on the back. It is quite large measuring 15 3/4" long x 10" wide(at it's widest) x 2 7/8" thick(at it's thickest) Quite heavy weighing 3 lbs 4 oz unboxed Overall it is in very good condition though there is a chip that has been repaired(see photo 6) but this does not overly detract especially when it is hanging up. A hook has been screwed into the top for hanging. I am not very knowledgeable about wood but I believe it is walnut. Vtg~Large~Hand Carved Maple Leaf Wood Grape Window Panel Black Forest pediment
This week we have this gorgeous Antique/Vintage wall or Window panel. This piece is intricatly hand carved in a leaf and honeycomb motif. It is also hand painted. I am not sure what this originaly was from but there are three pieces of metal(brass. I believe) hardware fittings on the back three corners of the piece. I do not think it was a door but it could have been a fixed piece some how. It is a very heavy piece made out of solid hardwood. I think it may be teak or walnut. It is in excellent condition and measures 22" x 31" and is 3/4" thick. This is a nice vintage carved wood pediment. Probably in oak. The ornate carving is beautiful. It measures 15 1/2" wide by 7" at its highest point. First picture is front side and second picture is back side. This is a very nice decorative item.

Beautiful Antique Victorian Tiger Oak Pediment Very unique Tiger Oak Pediment. I call this my Sea Serpent Pediment since it reminds me of a deep sea creature. This pediment has some of the most unusual characteristics I have ever seen. The header has a wonderfully carved serpentine top. There are very ornate side carvings, and then those round metal grommets all along the pediment. Looks almost Medieval or Gothic with that Victorian twist. This pediment is a real show stopper and would look great over a door. Window or attached to any furniture. The front had once been painted a blush ivory with gold accents. Measures a large 37.75" wide x 18" tall. It does have a metal piece on the back for easy hanging. Stunning piece, timeworn with chippy paint, mostly around the edges. It is missing the bottom left swirly piece, and there are some crack lines through it from age, but nothing broken off except the bottom left swirl.
