This early little jewel has a deep brown albany slip glaze that shows the rings going round and round the jug from the hand turned spinning wheel. When you look closely you can see the potters fingerprint inside the handle where it was held as it was dipped into the albany slip finish. It's topped with what could be the original cork. As you can see in the picture of the handle there are two small chips inside it. That's all! Everything else is perfect! My guess to the age would be around or before the turn of the century. 1880's to 1910's. This historical antique can be yours to have. If it could only talk. The stories it could tell! Antique. Western Stoneware Co. 1 gallon, top pattern Western Shoulder jug. Rare top patterned, No 1 in a maple leaf. Measures 10 1/4 inches tall and the base is 7 inches across. Has a very thin hair line crack on the spout(picture 7) but not bad. There is a mold defect when it was fired, and appears to have caused a glaze bubble which made the hole on top of maple leaf. This not a chip but occured during the firing process. Makes in unique. There is a chip on the bottom of jug which you cannot see when sitting on a surface. Comes from a smoke free home. BEAUTIFUL 1 GALLON ANTIQUE STONEWARE/COBALT JUG featuring a handsome cobalt design. Jug is approximately 12" tall and the base diameter measures 7" There are no marker's marks. The handle is in great shape. There is. However, a chip out of the jug lip(see photo) It is quite smooth so it has probably been there for many years. There are a few small chips on the front(see photos) Again, they are smooth and appear quite old. There is a very thin and tight hairline 5" crack at the back of the jug which extends on to base of the jug- about 3" The jug appears quite stable and these imperfections do not distract from its charm and beauty. Antique Douglass Clay Products Co Anomaly 1 Gallon Water Jug-Rare
This is an antique Douglass Clay Product Co 1 gallon water jug. The Douglass Clay Product Co in Los Angeles. CA operated from 1903-1910 when it was bought out by another company, but they continued to make vessels after this time, but apparently under that company's name. The clay products in the LA area were so good due to the exceptionally fine clay found in Southern California. This one has a logo for Douglass that we have not seen anywhere else. The jug also has anomalies that occurred in the manufacturing of the jug, making it doubly unique. There is a small hole in side of jug that someone tried to tape over. I have not removed this tape. There is a chip on top rim, several small chips in bottom edge, few chips on bottom and some coloring is coming off the top rim. The handle has a few small chips. It is a 1 gallon shoulder/whiskey jug. It has the maple leaf logo on the front. The jug is about 10.5 inches tall and just under 7 inches in diameter. It was preowned but was very well taken care of. I see a few shallow chips on the front rim(where the white portion begins) There is a 3 inch rough section along the rim on the back, as well as a small hairline crack. There is a small spot on the mouth of the jar where it wasn't completely covered with the brown glaze. I believe any other imperfections I see are only production flaws. It was made specifically for the World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition at the 1884 World's Fair in New Orleans. There is a discolored ring around the neck(see photos) this is not a crack. It probably occurred during manufacturing. Measures approximately 7 1/2" tall and 5" in diameter at the widest point. Has the remnants of a dried out cork inside. Fantastic piece of stoneware. Fantastic World's Fair collectible, just a fantastic antique. I've seen other 1884 I. W. The jug measures about 5 1/2" tall and almost 3" round. This Aged in The Hills. Platte Valley, MO corn whiskey jug still has part of the red seal on the top of the jug. The glazing on top is of brown swill. the bottom portion glazed in off white. Appears to be a two piece molded handle being put on after the jug mold and then glazed. Shows very little wear and observed no scratches couple of dings here and there check the picture. A few pin tip glaze flaws as you would expect. This antique moonshine jug has the characteristic crown stamp known for Ransbottom Brothers pottery. The upper portion. Which is cone shaped, has a handle and is glazed very glossy brown. The glaze goes into the interior of the jug. The glaze is scuffed on the handle. It has a small dent about 0.5 cm in diameter. The cylinder is cream-colored and semi-glossy glazed. It has some discoloration and scuffs. The glaze is worn slightly in a few spots. The jug has no cracks in the side or base. Specifications: Height: 11.5” Diameter: 6 ¾” Weight: 6 lbs The jug will be packaged safely and securely for shipment.

This whiskey jug was in my grandparents garage for years. It is a gallon ju g made of heavy stoneware ceramic with a glass like salt glaze on the top and inside. There are no markings. The jug has a carved wooden stopper. The glaze is unusual in that the color is not as brown as other jugs like it. But a blue black color except for right around the bottom edge of the glaze which is brownish. The ju g stands 12 inches tall and the diameter is 6-1/2 inches. Thanks for looking!

For your consideration is a bottom marked Red Wing Stoneware mini jug with 1/2 of a pint capacity. The bottom marking is: R.W.S.W. Co. The top part of this stoneware jug is glazed brown and the bottom part has a"dirty white" glaze. The white part of this jug is tapered. This jug dates from approximately 1900 and could have been manufactured with that marking after 1906. This jug has a height of approximately 4 1/4" The bottom is approximately 2 5/8" in diameter. This jug has manufacturing defects. The rim is chipped on the outside and has a lesser chip on the inside. The handle has been broken off and is missing. This is a nice old Red Wing Jug. It looks to be about a 1 Quart size with wood handle. It is marked R.W.S.W on the bottom. It is about 6 3/4" tall and has a bottom diameter of about 4 1/2" Nice condition with only one small chip near the the hole where the handle attaches. It can be seen in the third picture. Appears this company originated in 1856 thorugh the early 1900's. Don't know much else about it. Antique Robinson Clay Products Co. Stoneware 1 Gallon Jug Lamp /Blue stripe
Antique stoneware jug made by the Robinson Clay Products Co. founded in Akron. Ohio in 1856. The one gallon jug is decorated with a very artistic design with 2 sets of blue bands seperated with a white band in the middle. This jug was custom made into a lamp by a lighting firm in Avon, Ohio in 1992 for my home. The base of the jug was drilled and has a turned hardwood base and top with internal wiring. This jug lamp is in great condition with no chips. Cracks, stains or repairs. Works perfectly. There is a tight line extending about 2 1/2 in. from the spout on one side which does not effect the stability of the jug. The lamp is approx 12 1/2 in. tall and 7 1/4 in. diameter base. The height to the top of the socket is 16 in. Nice. Nice decorative lamp. Please review all pictures- they are an integral part of the description so you can bid ... moreappropriately.
