selling a wonderful pair of large architectural columns. These are a wonderful example of craftsmanship, very ornate and decorative, as found condition, the bases are both loose from the column itself, and on of the bases needs to be re-glued back together, slightly tapered at the top and fluted for the bottom portion, the one base does have a split starting at the base, some age cracks on the wood from age, complete some scuffs and scratches wear as you would expect with age and use, great as is or wonderful if you just freshened with some poly, these are large and measure 92 1/8" high the column itself, and it measures 10 1/4" wide at the base and slightly tapers to roughly 8 1/2"9" at the top, the base plates itself measure 12" wide and 1 3/4" high, the top of the columns measure 12" by 12" hallow ... morepole, does show signs of wear and age, highly decorative, great pair of poles just under 8' because of the size this will be listed as a pick up only but we will assist you in with anything we can

The asking price is for ONE COMPLETE PAIR OF COLUMNS but I have EIGHT COMPLETE COLUMNS. Each column includes a very ornate Corinthian. Hemp reinforced plaster capital, a sturdy wooden column, and a waterproof(I think polyurethane) base. They stand approximately sixteen feet tall total. They can however, be cut to any shorter length to fit a variety of height requirements. They have spent their entire, approx. 15 yr. life indoors in a year-round climate controlled environment but are also suitable for decades of outdoor use with proper finishing. They are a beautiful color but will need to be re-painted or at least touched up, as they have handling scratches and unpainted areas. I have a few more photos that I can send upon request. These are often seen only in decorator magazines and are hard to find. Even in antique stores. This is out of a Victorian mansion in the Los Angeles area. This one is wonderful and heavy with nice thick moldings and a whimsical details. The old white paint is all perfectly time worn. Shabby and chippy. You can see the original oak wood underneath in the photos, in places where the paint is worn off. It has been indoors for all of it's life so there is no dry rot that I sometimes see on wood that has been out in the elements. Even with the notched-out area on the base it still stands alone and is quite sturdy. There is also a rough area near the top on the back side where it was removed from the banister. There are a few minor age splits on the surface of the wood that are tight and do not distract- just adds to its character. For sale are two Antique Solid Marble Column Capitals. They each weigh 22-23 lbs. Measured Diagonally from corner to corner. They are 10" across the top(around 6" across the pinched in middle part) They could use some cleaning/polishing, I was unsure of the best way to do this so I left them as is. Some chips on both, mainly on the tops of the capitals. Antique Architectural Salvage Weathered Column Cap - weathered, Rustic Decor
If this column cap could talk. I would be willing to bet it has more sordid stories and harrowing tales than Rob Ford. This exquisitely ornate, gorgeously weathered column cap is a magnificent piece of historic salvage. Chipped, peeling paint unearth the gritty texture hidden beneath the bone white exterior. The imperfect details, like cracked corners and a slight lean, give it character, while the flourishing curliques and imposing European charm belie what must have been a wealthy past in a building of grand stature. Shockingly, this isn't as heavy as you might expect(around 20 lbs, easy enough for this admittedly weak-armed shopkeep to lift) which makes it easy to repurpose for plenty of uses. My first thought was that this would be an incredible, one-of-a-kind pedestal for a Christmas tree, either real or fake(though you might need ... moreto slip something underneath one side to make it a bit more stable and cure the lean) However, if you have a bigger table, it would make an incredible centerpiece on its own, and could easily be accented with a candelabra, tealights, or bottlebrush trees. Year round, use it as a plant stand, small accent table, or just as salvage-chic decor. Measures approximately 14.5" wide. 15" tall. Please note: the paint is incredibly delicate and chips very easily. In person pickup is highly recommended. But I will be happy to ship. Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of oak and is currently painted. The top has large flowers on three sides. The shaft is fluted with diamond shaped embellishments. The corners have reel and bead molding. It is notched for the step and is freestanding. It measures 48 inches tall. And 6 inches square at the shaft. It is 7.75 inches square at the base. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good scrubbing but will clean up nicely. There are some chips at the notch. The cap looks like it was a replacement. Please look at the pictures carefully. Antique Architectural Salvage Bead Board Tongue & Groove Siding Wainscot
Well. It's time to sell the house(1902 Victorian) so am cleaning out the place. Starting at the top and working down. Lots of old wood stored on the third and fourth floors and this is the first lot to go. Offered is a batch of 9/16 inch thick wainscoting. Beadboard, or beaded porch ceiling. The pieces are about 33 inches long and the coverage is 3 1/8 to 3 1/4 wide. There are 192 pieces total in the lot, for a linear coverage of about 50 feet at the 33 inch height. If you need more, I may come across more that is similar, but from another lot. This wood does not appear to have any finish on it. There is a very nice patina. And it could stand a mild scrubbing. There is some very light paint spattering, but I believe that it will clean off nicely with steel wool, might just scrub off. If you need. Antique Ornate Carved Wood Architectural Salvage Column Top Or Display Shelf
This is a beautiful antique ornate carved wood architectural salvage column top which can also be used as a display shelf. I'm fairly certain it dates from the late 19th century. 1880s or 1890s. It measures 7 7/8 inches tall(20 cm) Depending on which you call the top or the bottom. One measures 12 5/8 inches x 5 1/2 inches(32 cm x 14 cm) and the other measures 8 1/2 inches x 3 1/4 inches(21.6 cm x 8.3 cm) Given its many fleur de lis and the way it was made. I believe it's French. There are no nails, only glue, wood pegs and splining. There is a 1 inch(2.54 cm) x 1/4 inch(63 cm) chipped off piece of wood in the center a few inches from the top(or bottom) One of the large pieces of carving in the corner has a scrape to the front(please see photo) Other than this. There are a few dents, nicks, chips, scratches, scuff marks and age-related ... morecracks. But overall, it's a great looking piece and is very sturdy. I took most of the photographs with the large part on the bottom. But it can be used either way. It weighs 3 pounds 7 1/2 ounces(1.57 kg)

Antique Solid Wood Staircase Newel Post Column Architectural Salvage This antique staircase column came from a public building in PA. It is in solid condition. Has some weight to it(20 lbs) and is 45' high with the square sections measuring 4 3/4' across. The post stands by itself and is level. The floor in my butler's pantry of our 100+ year old house is way off, not the column. There are a couple of places where there is a crack although solid and nothing moving. There is a'slice' out of the top ball as shown. All of these flaws are fixable if desired.
