Drop center design. 3 marble tops(gray and white, beveled edge) Marble is in good shape, ever-so-slight stains. Has 4 smaller drawers at top, 2 large drawers at bottom, and a"secret" drawer at bottom base. Has Knapp joints on drawers(see close-up) Middle drawer sticks somewhat, but can probably be fixed. Exquisite wood carvings and raised burl walnut panels. Drawer pulls are wood carved leaf design. Candle shelves on each side of mirror. On casters. Solid and sturdy. Measures 86"H x 46-1/2"W x 19"D. Very nice Empire 5-drawer dresser or chest with burl walnut veneer. This piece is solid. Clean and tight. Drawers are made of single-board, poplar(the grain in some boards is curly) with hand-planed bottoms,and handmade dovetail joints, Each drawer has a pair of turned, solid wood knobs. Top pair of drawers are large and deep with beautifully crafted ogee faces. Drawers do not stick at all and operate smoothly. Overall dimensions of piece are 43 inches wide by 21-3/8 inches deep by 44-3/4 inches tall. There is a charred spot on the top where a kerosene lamp tipped over burned the wood. There are a few small knicks on the edge of the veneer and has been repaired on one drawer face(see photos) Local pick up only.

Being offered for sale is this splendid Victorian Eastlake Walnut& Burl walnut Drop Center Marble top dresser circa 1880. This lovely dresser offers beautiful period carvings. The original brass& ebony teardrop drawer pulls, pin& cove dove-tailing on the drawers and the original beveled edge marble tops. This 19th century dresser measures 83 inches(6 ft 11 inches) in total height from the floor to the very top of the carved crest. A width of 37 inches, and a total depth of 17 inches and this dresser weighs approximately 135 lbs. The height from the floor to the top of the marble at the sides measures 31 1/2 inches, and height from the floor to the marble at the center measures 22 1/2 inches. The mirror is a vintage replacement and in excellent condition and measures 31 1/4 inches high by 17 1/4 inches wide. antique burl walnut sidelock side lock dresser with gallery and ornate pulls wow
my aunt is 97 and wanted me to move this piece off her closed in back porchwhich is heated and cooled. it belonged to her grandmother. My great grandmother. i should keep it but i have no where to put it, my house is full of antiques and all my bedroom sets are complete sets with dresser, wash stand, wardrobe, bed etc. it has been well cared for and is in near mint condition. it has great burl walnut on the drawer fronts. the top and sides are solid walnut. it has never been refinished as far as i know. the drawer pulls are wonderful. some of them were a bit loose and any that needed firming up i have reglued. it has the original brass casters with double wheels on each caster and moves very nicely. it has a nice gallery on the top. aunt beth can not find the key for the sidelock, but thinks she can. i do not have a great deal of confidence ... morethat she will. she is a bit absent minded these days it seems. all of the drawers function well and besides a missing key there are no other issues to report other than there are a few light water rings on the top along with a few small scratches none of which take away from the beauty and usefulness of this sidelock. i am 5 ft. 11 inches tall and can not see any of these issues while looking at the piece. i have to get on a step stool to see them. again they are not an issue just merely add patina to the piece. the top is pictured and doubtful anything is obvious enough to show up in the photos. i intend to remove the lock and have a new key made. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyers expense. these sidelocks are hard to come by and demand a fairly high price. i am starting it at a figure 1500 less than one not as nice on ebay is listed for.

Very rare 19th century French commode with tilting sink. This commode is made of walnut and has a beautiful marble top. The sink tilts to empty and there is a drain under the bowl. The tilting sink is marked"Establissements Porcher Porcelain Anglaise. Paris-Revin" The brass on/off handles are marked hot and cold in French. The marble top has a crack in the front which has been glued and a piece on the front left corner which has been professionally restored. There is a small piece of molding missing on the right side of the case. The inside of the piece has cut outs for where the plumbing went through. The commode measures 39.5" wide x 27.75" deep and 43.25" tall at its widest points. It has 2 small drawers as well as a false drawer in the center.

Approx 1840's-1860's is my best guess. Wonderful piece with a unique, deeply carved central medallion over a shell form drop. Shell carved knees to go with the finely formed ball and claw feet. All knee returns present, small drawer front molding missing over the front right drawer as seen. Some minor trim moldings missing. Hand chamfered drawers, square or rose head nails, hand pegged form, beveled molding edge, hand cut dovetails, fluted pilasters and a great mellow surface make this a very handsome piece of American furniture. Offered is an Antique Walnut Multi Level Deep Frame. There is an embossed gold edge next to the picture with a narrow black trim with a wide walnut edge and then another black edge with a round walnut top to the frame. It is 2 7/8 inches deep and the exterior measurement is 12" x 14" and the glass covered inside measurement is 7 1/2 x 9 1/2. There is a wood back to the frame. It has three large drawers with a fancy skirt around the bottom on four legs with rollers. Which roll very well. On top of this are two glove boxes on each side separated by white marble. The back holds the elegant curved and bevelled mirror housed in a walnut curved frame with applied wood decoration and a special decoration extending several inches above the top of the mirror frame. There are four original leaf carved handles which are not on the piece. The buyer would have the choice of putting on handles of his choice or matching the original handles with two more. The base and marble are a unique shape due to the ornately carved columns on each corner of the base. The marble is cut to project out over the top of the columns. The marble has a deep double bull nose edge all the way around giving the affect of 2 pieces of marble. The base has 3 dovetail-jointed drawers with metal pulls. There is a small surface split in the wood where the crown meets the mirrors frame otherwise this piece is in excellent condition. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. The mirror measures 88 7/8 inches tall, 46 1/8 inches side to side and 5 inches front to back. It weighs 74 pounds. The marble measures 11/16 inch tall, 50 3/8 inches side to side and 21 ¼ inches front to back. The marble weighs 62 pounds. The dresser base measures 27 3/8 inches tall, 49 7/8 inches side to side and 21 3/8 inches front to back. It weighs 121 pounds. We do have more photographs that we can email if you are interested. Being offered for sale this Victorian Walnut Marble Top Three Drawer Chest with Carved Pulls and Oval Decorative molding on the drawer Fronts circa 1875. This lovely chest measures a total height of 34 3/4 inches. Total width of 38 1/4 inches and total depth of 18 3/4 inches and weighs approximately 95 lbs. We believe the white and grey veined marble top to be original and is in fine antique condition but does show some slight usage and character marks and a bottom rim chip that is common for marble of this age. The three large storage drawers each offer raised oval decorative molding and carved pulls with period dove-tailed ends. And all the locks are intact but we do not have the key, and this chest has its casters intact on all four feet to allow for easier moving within your home. American Pennsylvania Chippendale Walnut Lowboy over Trifid Feet After the original period works of Philadelphia and Chester County. Pennsylvania Probably crafted during the mid-to-late 19th Century Item# 130102YTP18 This is a simply gorgeous American Pennsylvania Chippendale(Style) Lowboy Antique Chest of Drawers crafted in solid walnut. While every detail is careful executed in the manner of the original works. We believe this piece was actually crafted nearly one-hundred years after the period during the mid-to-late 19th Century. It features a fine two board top, the majority being a single solid plank with only the last few inches at the back being crafted of a second joined board, the grain selected carefully and quite fine. The edge has a carved quarter-round molding of the solid, scalloping at each front corner, projecting generously ... moreover the chest. Three small drawers rest above the deeply serpentine apron, each joined front and back with fine scored dovetails, the bottom deeply chamfered and rabbeting into the sides, period Queen Anne hardware on each drawer face. The apron around the entire table is noteworthy: bold. Flowing, inspiring, the overall flow of the skirt gives incredible lift to the table. It gives robustness to the form, the lines active and dancing, the table looking poised for action. The three-scrolled form of the apron matches the trifid form of the foot, almost matching it's proportional flow. The legs are carved of a single solid piece of walnut from the table top to the foot, the sides of the table tenoned into the top of the leg and pegged symmetrically before curving in bold knees over fine cabriole form. This American Chippendale Lowboy is above reproach. A simply outstanding piece for a serious collector of benchmade works not concerned with the period of craftmanship. While not of the period, it has garnered a very fine patina in the shellac finish, the wood with a light oxidization throughout, the pine and poplar deeply oxidized and with great character in the finish. C. 1800-15 Item# 130101PHP13 While the Hepplewhite form employing splayed french feet in case pieces is well developed. Even common, this chest exudes a certain strength that is uncommon in Federal period works of the Hepplewhite style. The solid walnut and solid poplar construction gives it inordinate weight, but the intense lift of the feet, raising the apron sharply in the corners, eliminates the heaviness of the look. The projecting top is crafted of two boards, the last 3/4" along the front actually a continuation of the front of the chest up through the top, a somewhat unusual and perhaps unique construction method. Surrounding this is a dropped and applied molding over four graduated drawers. ... moreThese with molded lips of the solid, each framed with hand dovetailed poplar boards with a deeply chamfered poplar bottom sliding into rabbets in the frame and tacked at the back with square nails. The dovetailing method is somewhat original, using very large dovetails at the front, smaller dovetails at the back, the lowest back dovetail squared on it's lower edge to receive the drawer bottom in the rabbet cut. Flanking these drawers are chamfered columns on either side. Both sides of the case are single solid planks of walnut. Incredibly large boards with wonderful grain appearance. Five vertical poplar boards line the back of the case, these entirely undisturbed and nailed in neat rows, the boards on the far left and right sides continuing all the way to the ground. As a result of this construction method, the feet are in simply outstanding stable condition, despite the incredible weight being supported. Gorgeous carved solid walnut Gentleman's 6 drawer dresser chest original finish
This is a beautiful example of a Gentleman's dresser or chest. Early Victorian era and style. The sides and front of the dresser are solid walnut, as are the dove-tailed drawer fronts. With the added beauty of burled walnut oval panels. The black and brass teardrop drawer pulls are old and not reproduction, but not original to the piece. There probably was either a tw o- post earlier brass handle or a carved pull. T he finish is original. It has two vanity boxes on top. And the dresser is finished off with a small wood pediment bet ween the vanity boxes. I estimate this chest to be from the 1880's. Which makes it one hundred and thirty years old. It has had very good care throughout its' life. And is in excellent condition, with just wear due to age and usage. The burl veneer is all intact. None missing-which is incredible for ... moreits' age! There is one slightly lighter ring on the top and a few scratches on the bottom panel. But nothing noticeable. There are four drawers-the two in the center are slightly less deep and the top and bottom ones are a little deeper. Due to the design of the chest. There are carved and turned supports up the front corners of each side. Ending in a spoon-carved small corbel on either side. This piece has more character than most of the Victorian dressers I've seen and was probably a high-end piece in its' day. There is a key that came with the dresser, that fits the locks-but, they won't turn, for the most part. So, it could be made to lock, but, at the moment, it won't. The brass locks are all there. The measurements are: 41 inches wide by 47 inches high by 17 inches deep. I am happy to take and send more photos. If you are interested. The dresser can be picked-up. It’s very unusual, with the lighter amber color olive ash burl walnut through the entire piece, including the hard-to-find reverse cove crown top, all along the face, the molding on the lid and the interior. It comes with a large key for the writing lid, and a little key for the interior. This chest has an applied bracket foot base, which is unusual. This one has extra molding, ebony pinstripe inlay, and a raised panel back. It also has hand-cut dovetail drawers, and the finish is all original. Mr. Luppert has been burned out several times, and he has suffered a total loss of $150, 000, but with, wonderful energy he has rebuilt his factory after each fire, and gone forward in the face of disasters that few men could have overcome. In October, 1887, he erected the present factory, and has been sole proprietor of the Keystone Furniture Company since that date; he gives employment to seventy-five operatives, and turns out from twenty-five to thirty suites of furniture daily. Also. AG Shetler Furniture Company was at 160 North Charlotte Street in Pottstown. It was owned by Abram G. Shetler in the mid to late 1800s. Abram was born in 1857 and died sometime after 1920. The handles are carved with unique decoration.not the typical fruit and leaf handle on this style of dresser.and there is the beautifully hand carved acanthus leaves at top and around sides of mirrors. Here is an antique East Lake-style walnut top dresser with tilting mirror and 3 drawers from the late 1800s. Dark refinished walnut solid wood. Mirror has beveled edges. Drawer sides are dovetailed to faces and backs. Six drawer pulls all the same. Locks for each drawer but no key. Cabinet measures 42 inches long. 19 inches deep and 30-1/2 inches tall. Mirror adds 46 inches for overall height of 76-1/2 inches. Total weight of cabinet and mirror is 120 lbs. Mirror is removable from dresser. Condition: Dresser is in very good condition. Wood joints are tight. There is no damage except for a small wood repair about ½ inch diameter that is very dark in the mirror frame top left. There are also six ¾ inch circular dark spots in the walnut top where there were foam rubber spacers supporting a protective glass top. Antique Empire Dresser with Beveled Swivel Mirror 1860s Burled Walnut Located on Long Island. NY This is a very old. Large antique dresser with a swivel, framed beveled mirror. It has the original finish, which I believe is flame burled walnut, with a beautiful wood grain and patina. The end pieces on the base and the mirror supports are carved. The drawers have dovetail joints. Keyholes and the original glass pulls(keys are not included) I purchased this dresser in Atlanta 25 years ago. I was told it was a Civil War era piece dating to the 1860s. Although I have no way of verifying that. The drawers are very large and roomy. This is typical of pieces made at that time. As clothes were stored flat in drawers. This is a large. Solid piece measuring 54 in wide x 26 in deep x 35 in high. The mirror with frame measures approx. 46 in across x ... more37 in high. Overall. This piece is in good condition, but it is old and does have some imperfections. The top surface is very blotchy from what were probably water stains. In addition, the veneer is split on the top right drawer with some pieces of veneer missing, and there is a blemish on the lower left corner of the mirror(please see photo) I don’t see any other major issues with this piece, but please feel free to ask questions. for sale a wonderful pierced carved victorian rococo walnut dresser vanity or possibly a shaving stand. depends on what you want as to what you call it. it is a great piece presented in original finish with wonderful patina. it is in near mint condition with the exception of a small repair. Looks as if screws have been replaced on one of the back swivel mount pieces. there are no weakness or problem and the function is perfect, but it has been tweaked a bit. it is 30 inches wide and sits on great carved rococo feet. the base has three hinged caskets for whatever you want to put in them. it is 12 inches deep, extending one inch behind the mirror base. the mirror base and harp are of wonderful form and design. the base and harp are pierced carved in the finest fashion. it is 33 inches in overall height. the harp houses an oval frame which contains ... morethe original mirror that is nearly perfect. there is the minutest amount of sliver loss. these are hard to find especially in the shape this one is in. the three caskets are a 9.5 inch oval in the center and two 6.5 inch round ones on either side of the central oval one. someone will be proud to own this great piece. it may be picked up at my home and shipped at buyer's expense. i have owned about 4 of these in 40 years, none any nicer than this one, but all sold for a lot more than i am starting this one at. i had one that i had a little dresser base for it to sit on. it sold for about 3000 a few years back. anyway, if you are on your toes you can get a bargain here. a rare and fair find and wonderful in every way.
