1876 POSTAGE STAMP ALBUM (NO STAMPS) & PRICE CATALOGUE - DEPICTS WORLD STAMPS
This is an interesting old piece. It is a stamp album and price guide from 1876. Unfortunately the stamps were removed. Acceptable" in the description really does not work for an antique piece like this. But it was my only listing option. What is left is an amazing price guide depicting world stamps and their values at the time. The front is marked Postage Stamp Album for Young Collectors. It was compiled by F. Triffet(Boston) and boasts of describing 4.000 stamps with 1,000 stamps reproduced through engravings. It originally had 2,100 spaces for stamps, which are no longer in the album. The album is stamped throughout in blue ink stating"This book is from the Library of Henry J. Lohrengel Jr. There is a label inside the front cover that has Elbert J. Brown 88 Wesley St. Jackson(State? Also, there is a signature of Will J Morgan ... morebelow the label. On the front cover, there is a sticker that has Will J. Morgan's business information. History, etc. The other book contains the fold out of all of the colours on satin fabric swatches. The dictionary book is in very good condition; does have owner name in front.
