We are unable to determine the exact wood type for the core and the 1/8" veneers on the exterior side of each door. However. We have narrowed each one down to either Birch or Cherry. We do know that the 3/16" veneer on the interior side of each door is Quarter Sawn Oak. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/8" 3/16" thick and provide strength and stability to each door. The door has 1/8" Birch veneers covering a solid Douglas Fir core and has 6 horizontal, recessed panels. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. Old Wooden Jail Door
This jail door came from an penal institution that was closed in Atlantic Canada. Not sure of the exact penetentiary. The construction of the door is identical to cell doors that can be seen at Fort Henry in Kingston Ontario. That was built in 1837. The door measures 33.5 inches across by 71.5 inches tall. There is a possibility that this cell door may have been from a very small jail or holding facility. The city hall in Kingston Ontario for example has two or three cells in the basement of that building. And the wooden cells doors are also very similar to this one. There is one hinge missing on the side of the door with the grate. But that hinge is for decorative purposes only. The hinges on the door now were added later and can hold the door. Of particular interest are the square nails that were used to fortify the door. There are numerous ... morenails that have been bent back(on the back side of the door) to prevent prisoners from breaking down the door with an axe. Who knows who have been on the other side of this door. Or how many? There is also some wear on the bottom of the door- see picture. Available for pick-up in Hamilton Ontario. I can ship. But shipping costs are unknown. Anything can be shipped by courier however. It weighs approximately 80-90 pounds. Not many of these on the market. It is authentic and a real conversation piece. I have for sale a beautiful set of antique solid oak doors with slag glass panels. They look like they were used as front entrance doors at one time as the left one has the door stop strip on it. Both still have the original hinges and the right one has the original knob plates(but not the door knobs) The slag glass is in excellent condition with no breaks or cracks. The glass for the most part is variations of green with some amber. Gray and white. The wood around the edges does have some issues where the wood has peeled off on some of the corners but could easily be filled in with wood filler and stained. All the wood pieces that hold in the glass are intact and in good condition. Wonderful Solid Pine Mission Arts and Crafts Entrance Door
Up for auction is a beautiful Solid Pine Door from 1918. Door was removed by the owner so we know the date of the door as being original. This door is in excellent shape with original glass windows. House that door came from had a nice wide porch and as such this door has no rot. Door bottom on front of the door was wood puttied to fill some of the dings from door and will be buffed flat and ready for paint. Door front has been sanded down and inside door side has original varnish which I believe has been shallacked. Vintage (Old) Door from overseas (possibly India)
Entire Door unit with casing = 55" wide 77" high(add the still 3" And the overall height is 80" The overall casing dimension is 6-1/2. The casing goes together with a mortise and tenon connection. We had to remove one side of the casing, to get into the cargo van for transport. The casing goes back on very easy, as does the sill. This door unit is very heavy, and requires minimally two or more people to move. Need to pick up with cargo van. Door was purchased at a show in downtown Chicago last year. The door sold for $800!

OLD WOODEN EXTERIOR DOOR from HISTORIC CHARLESTON, SC
45" wide x 7'0" tall OLD DOOR from HISTORIC CHARLESTON. SC. Marvelous old door that has been stored away for +20 years and just never found a great home to be fitted for. Measures about 45" wide by 84" high. This door may have been removed from a Meeting Street. Charleston, South Carolina residence quite some time ago and is a rare offering indeed. True age is unknown, note the through tenons, light pine or cypress construction, recessed panels and wavy glass. The door was partially stripped of paint way back when to see what was under that white top coat, not many layers of old paint there and it should be easy to complete the preparation for a new finish. I have also just found the mortise lockset with the exterior escutcheon plate and keeper for the lower hole and it will be included. Victorian Door Stop This is a heavy item. It should hold any door firmly open. It is a door stop in the form of an eagle. With outstretched wings. Made from cast bronze, he has slightly copper coloured feathers on his chest and wings. He has not been polished recently so has a verdigris patina. The door stop weighs just over 2kg. It measures 29cm. 11.5 inches high and the base is 11cm, 4.25 inches wide. There is felt covering on the back which is flaked at the edges. It has a handle to lift it, which possibly had more at the top originally. A lovely architectural piece which is also very useful. Up for auction is an all original rare antique 1911 Corbin Model 4 door closer that came off a antique doctor's door. It is in nice condition for its age. Has some light rusting. Areas of paint on door attachment pieces, all moving pieces still function and has the original Corbin plate on the front. The plate says Corbin and has three different patent dates on it: June 7 1910, Aug 16 1910 and March 28 1911. On top of the moving arm is a stamping that says"1911 Model 4" see photos) It is a very heavy piece(weighs 15 pounds) The arm is 12" long when closed and 24" when opened. They are 7' 1/2" tall and 1' 61/4" wide. The bottom of one is ruff as I attempted to photo. They have 3 panels on each side and they are not beveled. There is a shelf on each one which is 1' 73/4" long and 7 1/4" deep. The iron bars are 2' 2 3/4" tall and 1' 3" across. There are 7 bars with iron balls on top. Matching pair of antique doors salvaged from either Macy's NY or Bambergers approx. six years ago. Note door behind the doors. That is a 7' x3' door. looks small in comparison) Doors appear to have been refinished before. And have some hardware changes made( old wood plugs from old knockers. Knockers are 5" round Solid brass. Great ornate detail on fronts, inside is a plain raised panel design. See pics. Each door measures approx. 119" tall by 33 1/4" wide. You are bidding on/ buying a pair of ANTIQUE SOLID WOOD SALOON SWINGING DOORS. The doors are a set/pair. One right and one left. Front and back sides photos 1& 2. I have a bag of mounting hardware that came with them. I am uncertain if every piece is there. I believe it is a complete original set of installation hardware. Photo 10. Both doors do have the top and bottom swing pegs in place. Photo 11. Both doors measure the same. Down the middle of the door. From the top of the crest to the bottom measures 43 inches. On the hinge/mounting side from top to bottom is 40 1/2 inches. The inside where the doors would meet measures from top to bottom 38 inches. Across they measure 15 inches, and they are 1 1/8 inches thick. There is some small damage to one of the vents Photo 6. And wood chipped on the edge of each door. Photo 7, 8. I did not ... morerefinish or deep clean these doors. I left them basically how I found them in case you want them the way they are. They are not perfect and they do have wear.
