Primitive -Antique Wood Round Table Stand/ Birdlike/Rooster Carved -Three Legs-
This antique table stand caught my eye. It is very uni que. I could not find what category to put it under. It is hand carved. Rough cut in some areas, like under the table top. Looks like a rooster/chicken bird of some sor t carved legs. Two of the screws look like the original. The other leg ha s a newer screw replaced in that one. I do not know the age. Looks as though it had a design in the center of table. Cannot quite make out what it was. The one tabl e leg needs to be tightened. Not much. I did not tighten. did not want to mess around with it. Very Old Antique Candle Plant Primitive Table Walnut or Mahogany Wood Stand NR
This auction is for a very old candle/plant stand. It is from the 1800's. It has been in my family for many generations. I am not sure if it is walnut or mahogany. I was told it was walnut but just not sure how to tell. The photos show the condition of the stand. You can see on the top and the bottom of the top piece. It does come off and you can glue it permantly if you like. When I ship it I will wrap the round piece off of the stand and that will protect it better. I just left it as is. The top piece has some seperation in the wood and you can see on the bottom where it has been held together with old clips. It has a little area where the wood is chipped on the bottom rim. Please look at photo. I think the imperfections give it character due to the life it has had. I saw one very much like it in an antique shop in Winter Park Fl for ... more$275. It was always in the corner by the sitting room chairs at my great grandparents home. It was used to hold the calling cards of the visitors to the home. Antique 8' Harvest PLANK BOARD Wood Farm Table RARE PRIMITIVE DOVETAILED CORNERS
Offered for sale is what is most likely a ONE OF A KIND 8' harvest table. The table was purchased at an estate auction so unfortunately there is no provenance as to the date but one can assume it is most likely from the early 1900s or even the late 1800s. It features 3 knotty pine planks on top that have lots of character. They all have maintained their form very well. It is most likely because one point someone either sealed it or refinished it and it looks great! The table has a bright golden oak with a red shade to it. Depending on the screen you are using the color could drastically change. Our PC shows the buffet lighter and duller than it is but on the mobile app they appear accurate. There are a couple small cracks at the end but nothing is affect. That and other condition issues have been described in the item condition section ... moreso please look through that if you haven't already. It is a surprisingly light but sturdy table and is assumed that with the planks being pine that the base is too. This is great because if you need to move it around you don't have to assemble a team of people to move the table like you would with a solid oak table this size! The main thing that makes this table unique and most likely one of a kind is the corners of the table. Every antique farm table or reproduced table with reclaimed wood has your turned legs showing on the corners and the side fascia board butts into the corner. There are a couple we have seen that wrap the post and just have one board nailed into the edge of another. Whoever made this table took a very creative approach and HAND CUT DOVETAIL JOINTS to cover the posts. Which were notched in to accommodate the boards. You can look at every corner and see they are all different and some with the cut marks going past where they should. WHAT A FIND! Not only is this extremely unique to find in this(or any antique) table but the dovetail design and the nails into the post almost assures you that the corners will not move around or come apart! I found it in the back of a barn. It was painted a light green and was being used as a work shop table. It was love at first sight but the old green paint was chipping and did not go with the decor in my home so I had it stripped and refinished to its beauty today. Most of the wood on the table is Oak. There are 3 boards out of 16 boards that make the table top that are another type of wood. I'm thinking maybe it's cherry but I am not a wood expert. The table has Queen Ann style legs. Legs and skirt are painted a barn red color with the top being stained. This table is very solid and sturdy. You can stand on it and walk on it. It is solid as a rock. Antique Farm Table Primitive Butcher 12 ft Restaurant Fixture Vintage Amazing.
I have used this table in my store for years. Looking for something smaller, so sadly giving up this piece. I bought it in New BEDFORD. MA. and was told it was a butchers table. Not sure if that is true or not. But this was most certainly used as some sort of work table. It is rustic. With the legs painted and chipped, and it has it's worn in dings and divets, which makes it even cooler. Please contact me with any questions. This thing weighs a ton. It was used as a kitchen and dining room table thru the years but the possibilities are endless! Measuring at a height of 29.5 inches tall, 41.5 inches deep, and 41 inches unexpanded, it has a potential width of 58 inches with the addition of another leaf. Unfortunately. The metal hardware used to keep one of the drop leaves up is missing. However, since the hardware is present on the other dropleaf, it should not be too difficult to replace the missing hardware. Each of the legs or spindles have wheels for more convenient movement. However. The wheels are also rather delicate and old so if the table is going to be moved frequently, it may be of consideration to replace these. The bottom of the table has countless stains from years of use. Including some paint splatters. There are dents. Scuffs, and dings to the top but the top is free of stains. Antique Kraut Cutter Bucket Bench - RARE UNIQUE Primitive
Still downsizing. Have loved this unique table/bench since purchasing at farm auction in the 60's. Guessing this was handmade to assist wife or the'help' with all the canning, probably late 1800's- turn of the century. Maybe was sold in old mail order catalogs, really don't know, just bought what I liked. Has nice aged patina, yet very few nicks or scratches, so perhaps was not used as Cutter. Very sturdy. 30" long with splayed legs; 12" from the wall; 22 1/2" tall. The Kraut cutter top is 24X9. Box glide slides easily, cutters look as though they'd cut, nice(hand waxed? finish. I have used as end table, bucket bench, coffee table, bookcase, in bathroom for towels, many uses. Study photos as sale is final. Antiques are well loved treasures, selling as shown. I have a great old table which I intended to turn into a kitchen island. This would be amazingly functional for that. Great old patina. Signed, although I can't make out what it says. Purchased a few years ago at an estate sale. It measures 30 inches high. By 30 x 30. Nice and sturdy. Three legs have covers on them, and one does not. I intended on putting wheels with stoppers on the bottom of each leg. It is not in perfect condition, but great vintage condition. This is local pickup only. It is quite heavy, so if you would like to have it shipped, it will be done at your expense and coordination. This item is also advertised locally.
