ANTIQUE HAND CARVED OAK WOOD 18th 19th Century VINTAGE FURNITURE ARCHITECTURAL PEDIMENT An incredible. Hand carved, antique furniture or architectural pediment from the 1700's to early 1800's. The wood appears to be oak but I'm not positive. It still has that wonderful old patina to the wood. It measures approximately 23" long x about 11 1/2" high and the thickest part of the wood is about 2" at each end with the flowers) The wood is split down the middle of the wreath, there are some chips(or missing) to the leaves that stick out on the sides, and there is part of the ribbon missing above the wreath. There may be other spots of chipped wood, but nothing that noticeable. Despite the flaws, this is a very old hand carved wooden pediment to display and enjoy! It is still awesomely beautiful. STUNNING Antique 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Double Koi Fish
STUNNING Antique 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Double Koi Fish WOW- went to my favorite flea market this weekend and found some awesome treasures for you- I’ll be listing all week. So keep checking! Well. If there was ever a listing where I just wanted to say nothing, and let my photos say it all, this would be the one. But I'm guessing you might want at least a little more details: so here goes. This is probably one of the most drop-dead-gorgeous antique pediment pieces I have sold. It literally stopped me in my tracks. Now, I don't know if these came off of a piece of furniture, or an architectural piece, but it has a 1" diameter hole in the center that I'm showing in photo 5, that goes all the way through, and I'm assuming that has something to do with what it once was, or how it was mounted. The piece is hand carved ... moreinto the imat of two Koi fish facing away from each other. On either end, in front of the Kois' mouths are grapes and leaves also hand carved. It weighs 6 1/4 lbs, and it is 21 1/4" long, 5 1/4" highest and 3 5/8" deepest. The back is flat, not carved, and the underside allows the piece to stand securely, upright and straight, as in my photos. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The patina is very very dark from age. I'm not 100% certain, but I THINK the wood may be oak- that's from looking at the backside, but it's dark and hard to see the grain, so please supersize and see what you think. The finish shows wear, and lots of alligatoring in certain spots, like I'm showing in photo 8. There's a couple of small nicks- on that I'm showing in photo 6- it's on a scale on the right fish and it looks newer as it's lighter. It's very shallow- at first, I thought it was just finish wear, but it's a shallow nick that measures 1/8" long. I'm showing another shallow chip that is on the underside of the piece in photo 8- on the end of the underside. It is either really old, or it may be original to the carving

This MASSIVE early to middle 1700s continental European panel measures 19” x 15” x 2” thick and is crafted from hand hewn and mortise joined European elm or chestnut with pinned corners and ancient hand wrought nails. The outer frame is dry and scraped to wood while the center has very old. Layered paint history: the background is bittersweet and the carving is chipped gold. It is sturdy and ready to display with some minor old wormholes(inactive) You will note raw end cuts of massive dovetails on the back where the panel was separated from its original setting. ANTIQUE WALNUT VICTORIAN SPOON CARVED VINTAGE FRETWORK CORNICE FURNITURE PEDIMENT A lovely. Antique, Eastlake Victorian furniture pediment that appears to be made out of walnut. It has spoon carved decoration with has traces of gold still inside. There are spools that decorated each side and woodwork that looks like a crown. This lovely furniture pediment measures approximately 48" long x 6 1/4" high on each end and about 6 1/2" in the middle. There is about a 3" slope from the top flat part, down to the front of the spools. It appears that the blocks, in the middle next to the spools, were added recently. One of the points of the crown, in the middle, is missing and the scallop on one end is missing the top. A couple of other scallops have some damage to the wood that is not really that noticeable. There is a metal ring ... moreon each side for hanging, two screws in the back that were probably used to attach it to a piece of furniture, and the front has two nails in the wood, where someone must have hung something. One of the spools has a broken part that was probably done when the new block was added(not noticeable) Despite the flaws, this is still a very beautiful, antique, Victorian Cornice that will look great being hung and enjoyed. Beautifully detailed antique carved wood pediment- measuring 42" wide and 12" at the highest point in the center. It is about 4" deep- has ledge on bottom back. It has a basket with fruit decoration in the middle. Piece has a gilded finish that has worn off in places- Workmanship is magnificent- details exquisite-There are some places in the front where it has been glued and probably some small missing pieces of wood- but nothing really noticeable considering the age of the piece. Some without- Here is a gorgeous and i mean gorgeous eastlake wall pocket. has really nice carvings and a gorgeous added bird& leaf on the front.i see no damage or issues what so ever aside from one tiny little chip on the bottom.very hard to notice, other than that, no holes, dings, scratches, cracks, hairlines, nothing. it is in tip top shape.has its original chains and brackets aswell but as youll notice it needs a couple new little tiny nails put in on the side where they use to go, otherwise you can just leave the chains the way they are. if you notice the carvings on this piece are very nicely done.on alot of later eastlake pieces the carvings became sort of shotty and ... morenot symetrical and just sort of poorly done and rushed.i believe this wall pocket to be a very early eastlake piece judging by the extra nice carvings and attention to symetrical detail, and the very old hardware.this one was done beautifully top to bottom. i meant to dust it before i took pictures but i forgot so any blemishes are just particles of dust, this piece really is in amazing condition. Lovely Antique Late 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Turned Wall Decor
Lovely Antique Late 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Turned Wall Decor So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! This one is sooooo pretty. And if you don't want it for wall decor. It's as simple as removing the hanger that the dealer put on the back! It's an antique pediment with lovely hand carved detail. I don't know if it started life as an architectural piece, or a furniture piece, but it will be yours to decide. It measures 19 5/8" long top to bottom and is 8 1/4" at its widest- the ... morecenter. It is 1 7/8" deep there at the center, but measuring from the very back of the piece, to the farthest sticking out part of the piece(the top, which angles out) it measures 4" deep there. It weighs 1 3/4 lbs and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally. The patina is dark and yummy! You can see rustic wear to the wood and finish all over- very minor- scratches, scrapes,teenie holes, nicks, dings, light spots, dark spots and finish wear down to the wood(see photos 4&7 where you can see lighter, small finish wear spots) You can see two nails at the top. And some holes at the back from when it was mounted originally. The back gives some indiaction of its old life too, as you can see that it's lighter at the bottom than at the top. The white spot at the back is an old dealer tag, it will come off. It's dustydustydusty and needs a good cleaning, I have not cleaned or messed with the as found patina in any way. ANTIQUE 1800's GOTHIC VICTORIAN ORNATE CARVED WOOD VINTAGE PEDIMENT CORNICE CRESTS A pair of very beautiful. 1800s, pediments that probably when on the back of chairs. They are made of solid wood and have openwork in the center with applied leaves on the sides. Each lovely crest measures approximately 14 1/2" across x 9 1/4" high(not including the dowels on the bottom) x 1 3/16" thick. The wood appears to have the original patina with some scratches to the surface finish. One of them(see photo) is missing the rosette in the middle and the wood is separating at the top and needs to be glued down(see photo) There must have been something else on the very top, because there is a dowel hole on the top of each one(see photo) Everything else looks great on these wonderful old pediments! Lovely Antique Eastlake Era Carved Wood Pediment GREAT Over Door Well. I am back from a monster shopping trip to the World’s Longest Yard Sale– we shop Ohio every year and then stop at some of my favorite spots in Indiana to buy from. Spent 2 whole days taking photos and still not done– I have a LOT and I’ll be listing for weeks. There’s something for everyone- primitive antiques, ephemera, military, railroad, industrial, farm finds– you name it, I have it and it’s all unique– you’ll want to keep checking, as I will list every day. Enjoy! Here is a beautiful antique late 1800s carved wood pediment for you. It's one of the simpler ones that I have seen(which is what I love about it! with 6 vertical carved wood lines that separate the 5 down facing triangle points of wood and that have a round carved notch at the top. And a raised double ... moreround piece at the very top center of the pediment that reinforces the round carving. I don't know if this was a furniture or an architectural piece, but it was once attached to something for sure- the bottom left and right are rough from where it was attached. I see no other indication of how it was attached- no mounting holes now open, no marks at the back- whatever it used to be, it appears to have only been attached at the left and right undersides. It's not a cut there either, the roughness is uneven as if they were broken off, but you can't tell that from the front, only when looking at them closely from the underside. The piece is solid wood- I won't know what kind but the patina is darkdarkdark. It measures 33" at its widest, and 11 1/2" tall. The wood on the sides is 15 1/6" thick and it is hefty, weighing just over 4 1/4 lbs. I'm concerned about the shipping to some locations, as it will have an oversize balloon rate, being over 84" packed girth plus height. Small Fancy Primitive Antique Carved Wood Architectural Pediment Piece We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! Here is a lovely small antique wood pediment piece for you. It's fancy. Yet primitive shabby at the same time. In excellent solid and sturdy condition, it has very worn and chippy paint- you can see white under the current coat and honestly, it's so dirty, it's hard to tell if the current coat is tan, or if it's white and just covered with dirt and dust- please see my photos and what you think. It really needs a good bath, and I do not clean or mess with as found patina in any way. It measures 5" wide at the base, 4" ... morewidest at the carved wood top, 7 1/4" tall and 1 1/2" deep at the sides. It weighs just over 1/2 lb. It's solid, carved wood and it's beautiful. As you can see in my photos, the bottom is not painted on the front and back, and the sides of the base were never painted either. You can see one small hole on the front left- I am guessing it's from where/how it was mounted. The paint is very chippy and crackly and worn all over- yummy! Stunning Victorian Era 1800s Antique Carved Wood Pediment Over Mantel Mirror? We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! The best word to describe this one is AWESOME! I took one look at it. And it stopped my in my tracks. I don't know if it is a part from a piece of furniture, or an architectural piece- but my guess is latter. It looks like some type of small over mantel or maybe over a mirror or hall tree. It's a stunning fancy Victorian era pediment that will be yours to decide, though. made of solid wood with a very dark patina, it measures 21" widest, 7 1/2" deepest and 31" tallest at the center of the top decoration- that's ... moremeasuring on the farthest spots of the outside walls. The inside(measuring on the inside walss of the front) opening is 16 5/8" wide 4 7/8" deep front to back at the lower unadorned half, amd 18" tall from the bottom of the feet to the"ceiling" on the inside top. It weighs a smidge under 8 lbs. It's in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition- with tongue and groove construction that you can see at the back- this is a quality piece. At the front bottom half, if you look at photos 10& 11, you can see two small nail holes on either side- so it was clearly mounted to or behind something on that lower half. The good news is that it stands on its own as it is- as you can see in my photos, and also that it's stained the same color there- although not varnished, I don't believe, but because of the stain, it really does not stand out to me- see what you think in my photos. The finish is in overall nice shape- with some scratching and scraping. There's a 4" long light shallow scratch the top left that you can see in photo 8. There's some other smaller scratches there too. That's the worst of it as far as the front/show

Antique Carved Wood Overdoor. Pediment Animal Forms: first of all this piece was hard to photograph as it is supposed to sit under the soffit of an armoire or mantle. It can also be used as an overdoor or pediment. The hand carved piece is made of dark hardwood, possibly mahogany. The entire piece is carved and has a bat like shape in the middle and two reclining animals on either side. The piece has been around for well over 100 years and has some minor abrasions in the front and nail holes in the top and back. Measurements are: 51 1/4" by 4 3/4" highest point and 3/4" thick.

Gorgeous Walnut Carved Wood Pediment One of a kind"Star of David" Pediment. Beautiful carving through the whole pediment. Has been in my collection for over 20 years. Pediment looks fantastic over doors. Pictures, as a statement piece, attached to furniture or even hanging upside down in a doorway. There are a few minor scratches and dark spots on the front with a small piece of wood missing but otherwise it is in great shape for it's age. Has a nice smooth sheen finish. Antique WOOD CARVED PEDIMENT, possibly OAK, 15 1/2 w x 7" h, NICE piece!
This is a nice vintage carved wood pediment. Probably in oak. The ornate carving is beautiful. It measures 15 1/2" wide by 7" at its highest point. First picture is front side and second picture is back side. This is a very nice decorative item.
