Vintage lot of 3 Glass door knobs + a stem antique
Two vintage glass door knobs on a stem. Also another glass knob but it is not exactly the same design as the pair. Nice art deco. The pair thread on the stem fine and the set screws are good. About 7 inches long including the stem and 2 inches wide. I do not know exactly how old they are but they are old. It has aging and wear. But not much, these look real nice. See photos for condition. I do not see any serious cracks. Dents, repairs, nor damage. It is vintage and in as found condition and will look even better if properly cleaned. They are extremely heavy, as they have quite a bit of wrought or cast iron on them. Beautiful detailing. Each door is made of solid chestnut and has 1 half-length window with 2 horizontal, recessed panels underneath. Also note that chestnut is a rare and valuable wood; it’s not commercially available due to the blight introduced between 1900& 1908. Which made the North American chestnut trees virtually extinct by 1940. Hardware: Besides 1 flushbolt. The doors are not equipped with hardware. However. Since then. We've stripped the paint and sanded the doors. We took the lites to the local stained glass repair shop that we've been going to for years"Kasmark& Marshall" in Luzerne. PA, and they completely reworked them! They took out all of the glass from the lites and separated the old pieces from the new. They replaced all of the new pieces, with old pieces(many of which are no longer commercially available) and then encased them in a new, leaded skeleton. The work took weeks and cost over $900! Condition: The doors are strong. Sturdy, and in great structural shape! There are a few cosmetic blemishes(character marks) including some chips in the inner corners; there is a long, but shallow crack in the lower portion of the hinge stile on one of the doors; the molding around the glass was cut to accommodate the support bars of the lites; and there are 2 slivers of wood under one

Penn Antique Restoration. 35"x83" Antique Restored French Door w/15 Wavy Glass Lites. Beautifully restored. Antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It’s made of solid pine and features an arrangement of 15 true-divided, wavy glass lites. We repaired, refinished, and equipped the door with an old lockset and mailbox. Restoration: At the point of salvage. The door was found with its original finish, 1 broken lite, 1 deadbolt hole, 1 broken mullion, 9 pieces of broken molding, nail holes, and equipped only with a mortise lock and mail door. Since then, we’ve stripped the original finish, replaced the broken lite, made and added molding, patched the deadbolt hole, and filled the nail holes(see photos under"Prior to refinishing" A few months ago. A customer bought the door and had us cut the width ... morefrom 35 7/8" to 35 1/8" and refinish it to match the woodwork in his home. Unfortunately, the customer did the measuring himself, and mis-measured. The door was actually perfect at 35 7/8" but after cutting it, it was no longer usable for him. The door is made of wrought iron or steel and features 2 removable window panels with tempered, safety glass. On the exterior side of the door, there is a strip of lovely scrollwork spanning across the center of the door. Directly above and below the strip, are 3, vertical bars and a 2 beautiful, ornate vine, leaf, and acorn motifs. The door and details are painted black. Hardware: The door comes equipped with a handle with push button latch-activator(no key. But currently unlocked) and a lever and latch.
