Unusual Medieval Silver from Sword Sheath or similar?
This was a metal detecting find by myself many years ago. Strangely it was found on a Roman site. Registered with the finds liason officer for the region at the time and deemed possibly medieval but unknown. The item confirmed as silver. This find consisted of two parts rolled tightly together. When separated one piece was found to be larger with a chevron-like design on it whilst the other was thinner with no design. I suspect that they could be restored better but I didn't want to touch them. Larger piece approx. 2" x 1.5" Smaller is approx. 1" x 0.5" Would clean up nice and worth a little more research. I would be interested if anyone had any ideas what they could be from. I did think a sword maybe but am not sure

I am not familiar with nautical items so I am guessing.I have six of these and they all came with glass which look to be two pieces of glass stuck together, not sure if that is normal practice. Each glass section has discoloration, foggy in the center and what looks like the remains of glue between the two pieces of glass. The bronze ring and glass were sold to me as pairs which makes me think they are some kind of window or viewing section but I cannot be sure. The rings are bronze with the a weathered patina and remains of white paint. Very chuck and heavy viking silver torc/bracelet. Belive that the vikings had to wear this on the overarm. Its very heavy 222 gram and 10 cm in diameter. The form and design indicate that this is made between 900AD and 1000AD. This torc/bracelet was found in UK but simulare has been found in Holland and Finland. All silver with dots and triangel decorations at both ends.

These iron rings of various dimensions and weight were used in funeral ceremonies, ritual processions and during long lasting victory festivals. On some occasions they were buried, but in rituals were thrown on stones thus ritually killing the rings. Very few complete examples exist. A procession of warriors bearing ringjarn is pictured on the Larbro Stone at Gotland. Oval, 2 5/8 overall. Originally circular, it has been used in the killing ritual. A tapered tanged blade with wood grip and leather scabbard with distinctive tapered leather side projection. In the Carl Carlsson studies of Swedish examples, the scabbard projection is sheathed in pierced brass. Similar examples from the Coppergate excavations at York were identically constructed with tooling in place of the brass sheathing. 668-672 are Viking side knives from that group. Ancient Post Roman Iron Viking Battle Helmet or Bandhelm - 8th Century AD
A rare. Heavy Viking Iron helmet, dating to the 8th- 10th Century A.D. The hemispherical dome reinforced with two iron sections. Further reinforced at the top and brim by two thick iron bands, riveted into place numerous times. This piece appears to have been restored in ancient times, the outside of the helmet being reinforced with sheets of iron and riveted in place along the bands and dome. All covered with an ancient patina, suggesting that the helmet was reused in ancient times. Losses are visible both on the interior and exterior of the helmet, with associated patch-repairs. This type of helmet. In use from the Migration period onwards, is often referred to as a"Bandhelm" on account of the two thick bands that support the dome and brim. This example is particularly intriguing, owing to the numerous patch repairs. Diameter: ... more8 1/2 inches. Height 6 3/4 inches. Condition: Repaired in ancient times as described. One or two minor areas of restoration. Otherwise unrestored. This piece has been x-rayed numerous times and studied at a German institution, copies of the relevant documentation will be supplied to the new owner. Provenance: Ex.
