Antique Vintage Interior 1-Panel Door 1912 Interior Door with One Panel Nice Ogee Measures: 89 10/16 x 31 3/4 x 1 3/4 Solid Birch(not a veneer) This door was in our 1912 home. It was the formal door separating the kitchen from the foyer. The design on the formal doors in the house is a simple but elegant one panel with ogee. The service doors had six horizontal panels with the same ogee. I have one listed separately. By service door. I mean where the servants worked and lived. The six-horizontal-panel doors were in the kitchen and on the third floor. All of"the family's" doors were the one-panel design. There is a nice ogee surrounding the panel. The nickle-plated knobs. The nickle-plated back plates, and the locking mechanism are NOT included, but were left on to show you the thickness of the door. These pieces MAY be available ... morefor purchase separately. I believe it is birch. Since all of the other doors in the house are birch(and I stripped all of them, so I know they were birch) I have not attempted to strip this door. It is heavy. Much heavier than a similar size pine door I have stored in the basement. You can pick this up locally in St. Paul. Minnesota, or I will work with your shipper to get it to you. Here is a great old painted entry door w/glass that was removed from a home that was built in the 1920's or 30's. All of the hardware is included: 3) surface-mounted hinges and complete lockset(minus key) This type of door is really not well-suited for exterior use. They were typically found inside of a covered porch or entry as this one was. The glass pane is fully intact with no cracks or breaks. It is flat glass with no bevels or ornamentation. Both sides of the door are painted, one side is white and the other has a faux-finish that's supposed to look like wood. There are a few nicks and gouges throughout, but these could ... moreeasily be addressed if the door was to be painted. They measure 95" long fully extended x 93" tall x 2.25" thick- each window measures 23" x 6" All original door hardware is included along with handles. Key plates locks, hinges and track wheels. There are no cracks in the glass panes. Half of the screws are original. The remainder are size-correct and have a nice patina that fits in well. There are 2 hinges that are slightly bent and need to be corrected in order to secure the center and side door(see pictures) The original track rail system that these doors were mounted to is NOT present. These huge teak château doors dating to around 1850c were recently removed from the French Embassy in Jakarta when new security doors were added. The front boasts a grand 19th Century appearance which alone is impressive enough. However when you turn to see the back of the doors you find and incredible pair of life size paintings of what is believed to be a King and Queen. The detail is just remarkable. And apparently painted in real gold although this has not been tested. Large antique doors without the interesting background and without the stunning artwork alone are rather sort after. The front has a pediment with spoon carvings above the glass. Below the glass is a shelf trimmed in dentil molding with a corbel in the middle. There are raised panels at the bottom. The back is plain with a raised panel. The glass is not original as it is not beveled. Some hardware needs replacing. It measures 35.75 inches wide. 82 inches tall and is 2 inches thick. The portal disassembles into 3 pieces for easy transport. The overall height is 8' 2.25" Total width is about 8' 6" The opening to walk through is about 80" high so you won't bang your head unless you are taller than 6'7" It is equally carved on both sides. The picture taken with the arch disassembled is showing the back side from the first photo. Also. The second photo shows a distinct separation between the left side and top piece. That is because the whole arch was not assembled tightly when I took these photos. It can be tapped together more tightly to make the left side look as smooth as the right. Antique Vintage 2 Panel Interior Door 23X78 F2
Please note: this door has finger joints on the stiles(see pic) Though it is solid wood and not veneered. It looks like these were paint-grade doors that someone had stained instead. These really should be painted! Also,there is a crack near the hole for the lockset(see pic) Here is a 2-panel door removed from an older home. Most likely from the 1950's-60's. The door is in nice overall condition. Though there are scratches, gouges and small holes throughout(see pics) It has a light layer of stain on it, so just a light sanding/hole-filling and it's ready for paint. Any issues with the door are certainly fixable, especially if the door will be painted. Not sure of the wood species but most likely fir or pine. There is no hardware included with the door.
