The drawer fronts have book-matched crotch mahogany veneers and cockbeading. The fitted interior(sorry for the dust) has burl walnut veneers, ebonized pulls and boxwood stringing. The interior cupboard door opens to reveal a drawer with a secret drawer behind. See photo) The desk measures 44" high by 39 1/2" wide by 20" deep. In overall very good condition. There is some minor loss to the veneer on the feet which we will restore for you. The desk lid is cupped which makes the desk impossible to lock properly though we do have a key. I don't think we want to try to address this particular issue but please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. There is also some cracking of the veneer on the lid but it is all stable, nothing loose. The desk has great color and patination and is guaranteed to be as described. Their are a couple of chips of missing mahogany on the headboard~see picture.The bed which was originally roped and still has the knobs. The solid cherry post are topped with flame finials. The measurements are 83 inches tall at post, 71 inches tall at headboard, 58 inches wide and 79 inches long. The mattress area is 72 inches long, and 51 inches wide. Being offered for sale this Victorian Walnut Marble Top Three Drawer Chest with Carved Pulls and Oval Decorative molding on the drawer Fronts circa 1875. This lovely chest measures a total height of 34 3/4 inches. Total width of 38 1/4 inches and total depth of 18 3/4 inches and weighs approximately 95 lbs. We believe the white and grey veined marble top to be original and is in fine antique condition but does show some slight usage and character marks and a bottom rim chip that is common for marble of this age. The three large storage drawers each offer raised oval decorative molding and carved pulls with period dove-tailed ends. And all the locks are intact but we do not have the key, and this chest has its casters intact on all four feet to allow for easier moving within your home. The hardware was replaced with traditional, English-made hardware that was common in the Georgian and Victorian periods. The sturdy frame remains original, and a look inside the drawers shows a strong structure that remains more or less unchanged by the stresses of time. As was common in the Victorian period, each drawer features hand-cut dovetails and continues to pull in and out very smoothly. The shaped bracket feet also remain very level and stable. This chest is certainly a beautiful example of English craftsmanship and will be sure to last for generations more to come. Over the years it has of course sustained some minor scuffs, which have been finished over and now simply add to the rich, genuine character of this wonderful chest, which remains in overall excellent condition. Spectacular"Highly Figured Sold Maple" Chest of Drawers Circa 1895 I fully restored this lovely piece.It features incredible"highly figured" solid maple with Birdseye maple veneers on the oxbow top drawer fronts.All of the brass hardware. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made.The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All of the drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of hand ... morerubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction.Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years.The photos show casters in the legs, they will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser. RARE - Antique English Yew Wood Dresser
This is a beautiful antique English dresser from 1810-30. It is made of walnut with a Yew Wood veneer on the front. Yew wood was usually only used in smaller veneered pieces or as accents to other veneers. The piece has two smaller drawers over three large drawers. It has a Biedermeier look to it. But the owner brought it in from England some years ago.you decide. The brass hardware is very old, but probably not original to the piece. The insides of the drawers are painted with silver radiator paint to protect against worms. It is in excellent condition. American Pennsylvania Chippendale Walnut Lowboy over Trifid Feet After the original period works of Philadelphia and Chester County. Pennsylvania Probably crafted during the mid-to-late 19th Century Item# 130102YTP18 This is a simply gorgeous American Pennsylvania Chippendale(Style) Lowboy Antique Chest of Drawers crafted in solid walnut. While every detail is careful executed in the manner of the original works. We believe this piece was actually crafted nearly one-hundred years after the period during the mid-to-late 19th Century. It features a fine two board top, the majority being a single solid plank with only the last few inches at the back being crafted of a second joined board, the grain selected carefully and quite fine. The edge has a carved quarter-round molding of the solid, scalloping at each front corner, projecting generously ... moreover the chest. Three small drawers rest above the deeply serpentine apron, each joined front and back with fine scored dovetails, the bottom deeply chamfered and rabbeting into the sides, period Queen Anne hardware on each drawer face. The apron around the entire table is noteworthy: bold. Flowing, inspiring, the overall flow of the skirt gives incredible lift to the table. It gives robustness to the form, the lines active and dancing, the table looking poised for action. The three-scrolled form of the apron matches the trifid form of the foot, almost matching it's proportional flow. The legs are carved of a single solid piece of walnut from the table top to the foot, the sides of the table tenoned into the top of the leg and pegged symmetrically before curving in bold knees over fine cabriole form. This American Chippendale Lowboy is above reproach. A simply outstanding piece for a serious collector of benchmade works not concerned with the period of craftmanship. While not of the period, it has garnered a very fine patina in the shellac finish, the wood with a light oxidization throughout, the pine and poplar deeply oxidized and with great character in the finish. Antique marble top tile back wash stand
This antique wash stand is 49 1/2" high. 30" wide and 17" deep. It dates from the late 1800s to early 1900s. It was purchased in rural Louisiana by my mother, antique shopper extraordinaire! This was near New Orleans. I found it to be a handy and attractive piece of furniture, once in a hallway and later in my guest room. The wash stand might be satinwood but I do not know the wood. It is not a heavy piece. The little shelves are handy for holding a small vase of flowers or other treasures; there is also a towel rod on one side. The one drawer is handy. The drawer does not slide like a modern drawer and there is a slit where wood is missing. I have tried to photograph all. You would need to come see it and pick it up in Charlotte. NC.

The top two drawers are nicely bowed. Reflecting the emerging Art Nouveau movement. The four ... moreornate brass bale handles. Brass escutcheons and brass drawer locks appear to be original. The escutcheons feature a roaring lion’s head. The bureau has a solid. Grained oak top and double-paneled sides. The front skirt displays a lovely scalloped curve. The bureau rear is double-paneled. The legs sit atop four rolling casters. This would make a lovely server for a small dining area. Measurements: 33 ¼ inches high 42 inches wide 19 ½ inches deep The top shows wear and discoloration. Consistent with antique furniture. There are some paint splatters, rings and smudges. There was once a backsplash or mirror sitting on the rear of the top. See photographs of bureau top. We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique mahogany dresser with matching mirror. The maker of this piece is unknown and we believe this dates to the late 1800's- early 1900's. The dresser stands approximately 36.5" high. The width is 21 5/8" and the length is 46" The mirror is made from solid mahogany and has a beautiful broken arch pediment at the top with an applied carved design in the center. It measures 35.5" high to the top of the pediment. The width is 24 7/8" across the ached top and th emain body is 23.75" wide. Made from solid mahogany the dresser has a classic Chippendale style design with applied carved moldings on the bracket feet and reeded columns on the front. The dresser has four drawers with a divider in the top drawer. The drawers are all dove tail jointed and also retain the original ... morebrass pulls. The dresser appears to have had an early refinish job done on it. There are age and use appropriate scratches and dings on the top and feet. As well as a small white spot on the top. This is certainly one of the best quartered oak carved washstands manufactured during the late 19th century. A fabulous piece that can be used as a dresser in a bedroom. Both the drawer and the two doors are serpentine with original brass pulls. A shaped and beveled mirror in very good condition. It has been repaired at some point and I don't believe the front legs are original to the piece which made somewhat hard to put an exact date on. The most of the interior wood surfaces seem to rough as if the it was hand planed. All the joinings on the back are chisel pegged(see photos) The dovetailing looks to be hand done but I could be mistaken(see photos) I would estimate this piece is from early 1800s. Antique Marble Top Dresser Chest Beveled Mirror Oak
Being offered here is a vintage three drawer dresser with exquisite architectural lines and hardware. Please view pictures for details. We are not sure if the wood is walnut or oak. The overall height of this chest measures 66 ½" tall and overall 38 3/8" wide. The marble top measures 17 ½" deep and is 38 3/8" wide. The dresser is 17" deep and 36 ½" wide. The beveled glass on the mirror measures 29 ½" wide and 23 ½" tall. The wheels make this furniture stand 2" off of the floor. One of the knots in the wood on the backside has a whole in it. We did not notice any cracks in the wood on this chest. It has wonderfully old patina and the brass hardware is stunning on the burl finish of the dovetailed drawers. There is a small area on the edge of glass where the mirror is worn; ... moreabout ¼" in diameter. There are some nicks and chips along the edge of the marble top. Regardless of any imperfections. from my research this appears to be an early 19th Century. Georgian corner washstand. It is mahogany.and is in a very old finish.possibly original.that is in nice condition for it's age. you are seeing it just"wiped off with polish"all the small separations in the wood and supports at the bottom of the legs are photographed. It is in a very sturdy condition. The drawer has been removed and photographed from different angles.so that you can observe the fine detailing and use of secondary woods. Antique Inlaid Bombe Commode
We just purchased the contents of a Long Island. NY estate with many outstanding pieces. This one is an antique inlaid Bombe commode ca. 1840-1869 that is probably either Italian or German/Austrian. There is beautiful marquetry throughout. Framing the outer edges of the two drawers is the Greek key design. In the center overlapping both drawers is a circular floral motif. Beneath the bottom drawer is a long ribbon extending the entire length of the piece. The legs are not the usual curved legs but rather they are squared off at the base and have a spiral motif on them. On either side of the commode, there is an oval medallion centered with an urn and framed with the Greek key. The beautiful marble top is Breccia Pernicia. The large bronze handles are beautifully chased. The overall condition of the piece is excellent. There is a tiny chip ... morein the veneer where the two drawers meet and some of the finish feels a little sandy. A light French polishing would make this piece absolutely magnificent. Being offered for sale is this Monumental American Empire Mahogany& Crotch Mahogany Dresser/ vanity with large Carved Paw Feet circa 1880's. This is a huge beautiful 19th century dresser that offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities with all the drawers in crotch mahogany with the original glass pulls. The original crotch mahogany framed beveled dressing mirror with powerful S scroll mirror supports and carved Paw Feet with hidden casters intact on the feet and we believe this piece to also have its original finish. This outstanding Empire dresser measures 73 inches in height from the floor to the top of the mirror. Height to the sides from the floor measures 45 inches, height from the floor to the drop center portion measures 17 1/4 inches, total width of the dresser is 69 inches, total depth of 23 1/2 inches and weighs ... moreapproximately 200 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 41 1/4 inches high by 24 1/2 inches wide. This dresser does disassemble into 7 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. All of the locks are intact on this piece but we do not have the key. The original beveled mirror does show some streaking and spotting as common in antique mirrors. And the mirror does pivot front to back to adjust for viewing. Early 1800's American Architectural Tabernacle Mirror Frame c.1800/1840 with Hand Painted Floral Panel Gilded Wood- Original Mirror Glass DESCRIPTION A beautiful Country Sheraton Antique Tabernacle Frame with the old thin mirror glass. This handsome frame and original mirror is nearly 200 years old and still in beautiful condition. A lovely architectural frame. And very well proportioned. The slender columns are reeded and turned at the top and bottom. As typical of Country Sheraton frames this has plain corner blocks that were never decorated with rosettes. The wide projecting cornice has small ball drops above the hand painted floral panel. The frame retains the original finish, a mixture of water gilding and gold metallic paint that has a burnished finish. The glass is very thin and as expected on mirror glass of this period it does ... moreshows great signs of age overall. Quite charming to look at with the darkening of the silvering. An old thin wood backing is retained on the reverse. It has screw eyes and wire and is ready to hang. Offering a spectacular solid Tiger Maple Dresser/Chest in Empire style. I had previously wrongly described it as Tiger Oak and was roundly criticized and corrected) To further clarify after having an expert examine this item. The chest is solid Tiger Maple, however the drawers are Tiger Maple veneer. The drawer tops are finished off with a stronger wood strip which might be mahogany to absorb the extra stress when the drawers are opened and closed. Dates to late 1800's, excellent condition, but seeing is believing. This will have to be local pickup in Hagerstown Maryland. The pictures pretty much tell the story, but please ask any questions. Late 1800's Curly Maple Woman's Victorian Dresser with Oval Beveled Mirrors
This beautiful dresser is in servicable condition. Original beveled mirrors intact. No cracks. Center mirror swivels vertically. It is believed that the drawer hardware is original. It does not appear that it was ever refinished and therefore has a lovely patina. There are some scratches, slight warpage and small imperfections on the top surface. I bought this 35 years ago and at the time the maker's name and'1896' was faintly handwritten on the back. But the lettering has disappeared over time. Please ignore the look of the mirrors as an attempt was made to blur out the reflections. The mirrors provide a clear image. Dresser is available for inspection before bidding. American Federal Period Walnut Chest of Drawers Four graduated drawers flanked by chamfered columns over splayed French feet Pennsylvania. C. 1800-15 Item# 130101PHP13 While the Hepplewhite form employing splayed french feet in case pieces is well developed. Even common, this chest exudes a certain strength that is uncommon in Federal period works of the Hepplewhite style. The solid walnut and solid poplar construction gives it inordinate weight, but the intense lift of the feet, raising the apron sharply in the corners, eliminates the heaviness of the look. The projecting top is crafted of two boards, the last 3/4" along the front actually a continuation of the front of the chest up through the top, a somewhat unusual and perhaps unique construction method. Surrounding this is a dropped and applied molding over four graduated drawers. ... moreThese with molded lips of the solid, each framed with hand dovetailed poplar boards with a deeply chamfered poplar bottom sliding into rabbets in the frame and tacked at the back with square nails. The dovetailing method is somewhat original, using very large dovetails at the front, smaller dovetails at the back, the lowest back dovetail squared on it's lower edge to receive the drawer bottom in the rabbet cut. Flanking these drawers are chamfered columns on either side. Both sides of the case are single solid planks of walnut. Incredibly large boards with wonderful grain appearance. Five vertical poplar boards line the back of the case, these entirely undisturbed and nailed in neat rows, the boards on the far left and right sides continuing all the way to the ground. As a result of this construction method, the feet are in simply outstanding stable condition, despite the incredible weight being supported. The feet are entirely original, the interior blocking of each a complex and almost puzzle-like formation. Empire Cherry& Tiger Maple Chest or Console. This wonderful New England furniture was created about 1835 as an Empire period chest or dresser. Sometime later a very skilled carpenter reduced its depth to fit a particular spot as a console. Entirely hand made of solid cherry and shimmering tiger or curly maple. The satiny finish is excellent. The front edge of the cherry top is beautiful- natural golden sapwood. When the drawers were shortened, they were hand dovetailed, just as when first made. Walnut knobs on the top two drawers are still secured with wooden dowels instead of screws. Drawer bottoms are chamfered on this charming American antique. When the drawers are opened. The hand cut joinery and lion paw feet show great expertise. Bronze mounts are original. The original glass has just enough antique"smoke" to be charming. The original finish is remarkably well preserved with some crazing and wear as expected, see photos. Finished on all sides.
