Unsure of it's age, definitely vintage and possibly antique. I exhausted many searches and didn't find one other like it. Most of the creels that I saw are made of wicker, a few canvas creels but nothing with the wooden top and bottom like this. My favorite part of it is the nautical rope around the top and bottom. The thick fisherman's rope, in near perfect condition with a few areas of slight fraying. Offering it for a very low price, the other 1960's&70's canvas creels without the rare materials and design of this one are being sold for upwards of $179.00. You are looking at a pair of antique pine leaded glass cabinet doors. They are not painted. They have their original finish on them. They are in good condition. There are a few minor scratches in the finish as you can see in the pics, both nothing major at all. The glass is sturdy and there are no breaks. This pair includes original glass knobs and it looks like the previous owner added a small backplate behind the knob. Penn Antique Restoration. 30"x83" Antique Exterior Oak Door w/5 Horizontal Panels. Beautiful. Old, interior door salvaged from the bathroom of an establishment in Minnesota. Notice the"Ladies" label on one of the cross rails on the exterior side of the door-what a cool vintage feature! The door has a solid chestnut core covered with 1/8" oak veneers. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before the door would need to be re-veneered. Hardware: The door is not currently equipped with any hardware. However. W e have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store. And tons more ... morein our physical store. Antique Vintage Interior 6-Horizontal Panel Door 1900s Interior Door with Six Horizontal Panels Nice Ogee Thickness: 1.75 inches Exact measurement: 31.75 x 70 This door was in our 1912 home. It was a service door. And was between the kitchen and the mud room. It has the same design as the doors on our third floor, which was for the live-in help(like I have any! It is different in style from the"formal" doors in what would be called"the family's" area of the house. There is a nice ogee surrounding each panel. There was a towel bar on one side of the door. So there are two screw holes on each side. Please see the photo. These are easily filled and painted over, of course. If you are thinking of stripping and staining the door, those are the only holes in the door(other than the holes for the door knobs, plates, etc. ... moreThe nickle-plated knobs. The nickle-plated back plates, and the brass locking mechanism are NOT included, but were left on to show you the thickness of the door. These pieces MAY be available for purchase separately. I believe it is birch. Since all of the other doors in the house are birch(and I stripped all of them, so I know they were birch) I have not attempted to strip this door. It is heavy. Much heavier than a similar size pine door I have stored in the basement. We weighed it on a bathroom scale, and it is approximately 75 pounds. Measurements: 70 inches tall by 31.75 inches wide. 1.75 inches thick. Much thicker than more modern doors. You can pick this up locally in St. Paul. Minnesota, or I will work with your shipper to get it to you. I got estimates for someone who lives in Rutherford, New Jersey. I'm in St. Paul, Minnesota. Early Original 1900's Pair of Stained Glass Oak Cabinet Doors
Up for auction is an original matching set of stained& beveled glass cabinet doors taken from a Milwaukee bungalow that was built in 1918. There are no cracks or damage of any kind. One piece of the glass has a minor imperfection. It is not a crack or a scratch but it is a line that is a little over an inch. I tried to photograph it but it would not show up in the pictures. I am just trying to be upfront. It is surrounded in beautiful oak that has a great patina. One door measures 20& 3/4 inches tall. 14& 11/16 inches wide. HEAVY CARVED POLYCHROME SOLID WOOD SET ANTIQUE CHINESE DOORS GATE FRAME CORBELS
Talk about an unusual Charleston estate auction find. here is an incredible heavy carved polychrome solid wood Chinese door or heavy gate with a cross beam and side beam frame as well as the heavy raised panel doors with all their original iron fittings. This is an old Chinese door and is extremely heavy as well as somewhat primitive on the unfinished sides of the beams. The polychrome paint is quite worn but is still quite evident and adds so much character to an already gorgeous detailed yet functional heavy door. I have included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the design. Quality, condition and overall beauty of this delightful antique door. Unfotunately I do not know any additional provenance on the door or have any definitive explanation as to how it arrived in our fair city, though with it being a port ... morecity and with the sheer size and weight, my guess is whenever it came to the US, it was most assuredly by boat long ago. The standing door frame itself is 78 inches tall by 68 inches wide at it's widest points. At beams which extend and is constructed of huge beams 4 1/2 inches wide.The inside doorway entrance(inside the standing frame) is 63 1/2 inches tall and 39 1/4 inches wide, with a bottom crossbeam one would have to step over to enter. In addition there is a large crossbeam I believe goes overhead, hooking into the corbels, 68 inches long by 8 inches wide by 4 1/4 inches thick. There are also two side beams each 73 1/4 inches long by 6 1/2 inches wide by 3 inches thick and the two corbels, carved from blocks roughly 21 1/2 inches by 12 inches by 8 inches. The two raised panels doors, which shut from behind the door frame, are 74 1/2 inches tall and very heavy, ready for locking out the enemy. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. Description This is a nice antique French door that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian mansion. It is made of pine and is currently unapinted. It is a double swinging door and the lower hardware is intact. The upper hardware is missing the pin. 4 pieces of glass are missing but the mullions are intact. It has both push plates. It needs sanded and restained or painted because the old finish is uneven. It measures 30 inches wide. By 79.5 inches tall. It's 1 and 3/8 inches thick. Overall. It is in decent condition.
