Condition: Used Location: Novato, United States I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite ... morelike it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. The dimensions are 40 1/2” tall its tallest point. 33 1/2“ wide at its widest point at the base, and 19” deep when closed,and 34“ deep when opened. Local pickup only.

The secretary has a mirror, that is on the top at the right side and unbelievably gorgeous carved details and applied accents all throughout. It also has the original metal hardware, which is absolutely incredible and ornate as well. The front door of the secretary that would open down as a writing service has been broken off, and in half horizontally, however, the hinges are intact and it could easily be repaired. This door is 14" top to bottom, 20" wide. There is a lot of light staining and wear as well as scratches and dings to the finish.

A wonderful antique post-office desk that has been in my family for 20 years(originally purchased in Texas) We're finally selling it to prepare for a move to the East Coast. The desk is 54" long by 35" wide by 71" tall. It's solid and very sturdy. The cubbies are detachable from the main desk(so not too bad to move) There is wear consistent with its original use and age. Antique large mahgony 7" high seceraty desk bookcase glass doors 27 slots
Antique large 7" high seceraty desk bookcase. It's a nice looking piece. I believe it is mahogany but am unsure. I do not know the maker or style of this particular piece as it is heavy and I couldn't find any markings in the places that were accessible to me. We bought this quite awhile ago an estate sale. It does need some restoration as the bookcase seems to have been repainted a few times. As the main color is scratching showing a lime green paint underneath it. The 27 slots are part of the bookcase area. The desk below has two drawer. It would beautiful if one can bring this gorgeous peice back to a more original state. The bookcase is 58" high, 42" across and 12" deep containing 3 shelves as well as the slots. the lower portion detaches and is 30" high 42" across and 20' deep. The bookcase has ... morea crack in the glass. The bottom drawers need to be fixed up a little as they do not slide easily in and out. I pulled the drawers out and seen that the braces need to be reinforced/ Still in spite of it's flaws it still looks very handsome. Antique Wall Hanging Secretary
This is a fully refinished antique wall hanging secretary desk primarily made of oak. I kept it as original as I could. The drawer pulls. Hinges, and lock, are all brass and original. The only new pieces are the chains and eyelets that the chains are attached to and part of the the back has a new a board due to it missing. The drawers are all functional and the piece is very solid. The lock does not have a working key. PLease note that is is a pick up only due to size and weight. I live in Central New York and would be happy to meet the winning bidder at an agreed upon place. I also travel to the Syracuse area quite a bit if that helps.

Antique Oak Secretary,Stained Glass,Circa 1900,Forest City Furniture of Rockford
Beautiful antique oak secretary with stained glass doors made by Forest City Furniture Company of Rockford Illinois. Forest City Furniture was located at Railroad Avenue at Eighth Street and operated from to 1919. It has carved claw foot legs on the front. The shelves are adjustable and movable between the top and bottom cabinets. The stained glass is a beautiful combination of of colors and shapes from right-angles to smooth curves. The original manufacturer's label is still attached to the back. The label lists the unit number. The cabinet maker, and who filled, varnished, rubbed, polished, trimmed and crated this particular piece. It measures 73.75" high by 34" wide and 18.25" deep. The top cornice molding looks to be a pine replacement but as you can see in the photos it blends in. The bottom cabinet doors were repaired ... morebefore I purchased it. The repairs are the two dark squares seen on the lower doors. Replacement veneer had been inserted and the varnish used darkened faster than the original finish. Beautiful piece for the home. Been in a clean home environment for over 10 years. No pets! No issues that we can tell. All surfaces are generally free from blemishes and have an excellent natural wood finish. The top has a couple of small stains(probably an inkwell- see photo) that must be over 70 years old as they are under the finish and give it a nice visual character. Antique Burl Walnut Inlay? Desk Organizer Or Letter Box
You are bidding on an antique desk organizer or letter box of some sort. Unsure who made it or how old exactly but it is at least 50 years old because I've seen it in an old family picture from then. It's made of burl walnut and I'm not sure what else. I believe that's the key to it but end is broken so no way to know for certain because it doesn't work. Still opens though as seen in pics. It's missing pieces of the dark wood molding around the top in parts as well as down the back on both sides in places. Has a small chunk out of the front too. For sale- an antique standing desk from Great Britain. C. 1905. Of note are the dual ER VII markings. Noting the reign of Edward the Seventh, from 1901-1910. Once believed to be from the Royal Mail postal service as a clerk's station. After a conversation with the curatorial staff of the British Postal Museum and Archive, I am unclear of its origin. It was purchased as an antique many years ago under the premise that it was a postal desk. It's clear that it was a government clerk/draftsperson desk but I've yet to find a similar object online. Desk is in OK condition. Has a definite charm to it. Would make a fine entry hall table or a writing/drawing desk.

Desk has the Pigeon Hole Slots, Center Door with Carving beneath door that pulls out as a secret drawer. 4 small drawers on each side of center door, the 2 bottom drawers on end are shorter than top drawer and when pulled all the way out there is a wooden track that comes out with a wooden box attached! Funky. Charming"vintage" Sea Captain's standing Chart Desk(and or dresser) in two parts. The"dresser" drawers beneath separate from the"desk" top, so it can be used either way. The dimensions for shipping when I got it were: Length 2.33 feet, Width 4.17 feet, Height 4.17 feet, weight estimated at 175 lbs, class 125. I'm a short woman, but I can take the top on and off easily, by myself. Made of red-painted wooden sides with glass-front drawers painted with the charming Nautical script in yellow, the two-part desk has drawer-pulls as photographed at the bottom of the drawer. This item is unusual- no idea how old it is or how authentic. Friends wonder if it wasn't a hostess station at a seafood restaurant, rather than a"real" vintage desk from a boat. This is an Antique Oak"S" Roll Top Desk with raised panels that has been beautifully restored. This desk is from my Grandparents home as I can not ever remember not seeing it there and I am almost 50 years old. I do not have a maker on this desk but have to believe that it is from the early 1900's. I would love to display this in my home. But my home will not accommodate it. It is 54 inches long. 3 feet wide and 4 foot tall. It is Oak and it has 4 drawers on the left hand side and 3 drawers on the right hand side. There is a brass plate in which to lock the desk. But I do not have a key for it. The colors and details are beautiful. With it being so old. There are some imperfections as you can see. On the left hand pull out there are little holes in the wood. Not sure if they were put there by someone or if something happened ... moreto the wood. On the back there is a knick of wood missing as you can see in the picture. Two of the drawers bottoms have been replaced and two of the drawers have what looks like as stains, but it does not get on anything. This handsome antique portable Secretary's Box is both a highly collectible and very useful item. The burnished wood case opens its doors to reveal a plethora of compartments that were used to organize the business person's work- pens. Seals, stamps, papers. Left drawer closed with metal pin insert. Bottom has drawer that opens. It has lock and key, though does not lock. It can still be used in business or home office in original capacity, or as objet d'art; there are many modern versions, most marketed as portable desk organizers. This antique has the craftsmanship and history to be most desirable. The wood may be a burnished walnut, or possibly, a tropical hardwood. Please note how the craftsman who made this carefully matched up the exceptional wood grain patterns on the doors. The owner, a bond trader, used this briefly as ... morea mail center, and then for purely decorative purposes at home. The top compartment can easily hold a legal sized envelope. Please see picture#12 to note that bubble mailer(inside dimensions 9.5" and a legal envelope at 9.5" easily fit into top compartment. The envelope is dangling on compartment in front so viewers may see the width. Measurements: 10.5" high 9.75" wide(with doors open, 23" wide) 6.75" deep The owner purchased this Secretary's Box during a trip to Lindon at an antique store on famed Portobello Road about 30 years ago. As with all of her possessions. This has been kept in immaculate condition. We estimate this to be late 19th century or at most, very early 20th. It has a folddown desk area with lots of cubbyholes for stationery. Bills, books, etc. There are three shelves behind glass doors and three waved drawers. This secretary needs some work. If you have some minor carpentry skills, this can be a beautiful piece. There are lots of scuffs and scratches, some water marks and bubbling on the inside backing and the right top part needs to be nailed down better. The mullion on the right side is held in partly by duct tape but can be easily fixed with a small finishing nail. My plan for this was to fix these areas and then give it a coat of chalk paint and a layer of dark wax. But I moved into a much smaller home and I have no room for it. ... moreMy loss is your gain! Antique Child's Schoolhouse Student Desk Cast Iron & Maple Folding Bench Seat
This is a charming antique Child’s Student Desk probably from the late 1800’s. It was made by A.H. Andrews. Buffalo, New York and is made out of cast iron and solid maple. It features an inkwell, pencil slot and folding bench seat. The cast iron is very ornate and had been painted white at some point. There is a#5 embossed on the sides of the desk. The desk is in excellent condition given its age. However. There are two cracks on the top that look like they have been there for a long time. It comes from a smoke and pet free home.
