This unique vintage piece is shaped like an egg with a textured iridescent finish. Jagged edges to the top opening, beautiful applied pink roses with gold highlights and trim, a triple footed base. And an unusual handle on the end. It measures 4 1/2" tall not counting the handle(or 4 7/8" tall to the top of its handle) By just under 7" long from handle to opposite end, by a little over 2 1/2" wide. It still has its original Wheelock Peoria Made in Japan foil label on the bottom. It is in very good condition. And has no chips or cracks. There is some clear crazing which is very common in older pieces. no discoloring. Bright spots are only light reflections. Very unique piece looking for a new home! Parian ware is an unglazed high-quality porcelain developed by Copeland& Garrett in England in the early 1840s. Its look was developed to resemble white marble. Parian ware was also made during the 19th century in Bennington Vermont by United States Pottery Company. The high relief design of jonquils and arching leaves is inspired by an original parian pitcher in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Stands about 8 3/4" tall. No box. CONDITION: Preowned item. 20 years old at most. It looks great but please expect that there are some minor signs of use if you are looking really closely, like ... moresmall stain marks or a faint smudge- all very typically of unglazed wares. It is a little dirty deep in the interior from use(probably from use as a vase) Shelf wear/stain on underside of base as shown in photo. I see one little mark on the top of the handle as shown in photo. With a 25x loupe, it looks like a small circle- so perfectly round that my best guess is that is as made, perhaps a kiln mark. I believe this is Worcester. Marks unclear, but it's very old and the style is similar to other ones I've seen, you be the best judge. The hand painted flowers are gorgeous, but sadly it's been knocked around in its life. The spout was repaired at one time, two chips on the inside rim at the break. Measures 6 3/8" tall. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and therefor is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Helpfully labeled at the bottom by one of the heirs as GRANDPA GRUBER'S FROM THE CAMP(which seems a great place to decorate with a gurgling fish vase) with"MAJOLICA" written in a felt-tip marker(which can be removed fairly easily; it's on top of the glaze) In very good to excellent condition. With faint crazing visible on close inspection, appropriate to majolica of this age, but no chips, cracks or damage. Measures 9 1/2" high and 5" wide at widest point; the base is 3 1/4" diameter. Early Nouveau Robert Hanke vase pitcher ewer flowers gold gilt early 1900s 9"
I have for you this evening a beautiful porcelain pitcher or ewer by the Austrian porcelain manufacturer and design studios of Robert Hanke in Bohemia. This lovely pitcher is in the Nouveau style and made of nice quality porcelain with a blush glaze that was all the rage in Europe at the time. The vase has been hand painted with stylized flowers with orange accent color and trimmed in raised gold slip work. The piece is dusted with gold on the face and the reverse and the base and rim are gilded as well as having a heavily gilded handle. The mold shape is pleasing to the eye and the handle is very tactile along with some scroll work at the neck. A very warm and happy ceramic piece of West German origin. It will be a welcome addition to your eclectic retro home. Pleasing ewer, pitcher, handled jug type configuration and attractive designs, glaze textures. Too) is a ceramic piece designed and signed Georges Briard. It is part of a larger matching Georges Briard set we are offering. It is finished in high-gloss black glaze that conveys a warm earthy tone due to the subtle underlying shadow of the terracotta earthenware pottery. It features a large. This is an antique pitcher marked VICTORIA CARLSBAD AUSTRIA and numbered. The piece is 8 1/2" high and 3 1/2" in diameter at the base. The pitcher is decorated with a mix of transfer design and hand painted strokes. The cherub is transfer highlighted with brush strokes. While the scrolls are heavily gilded. The background is hand painted in soft cream color with blue clouds around the figure. The edges and the spout have gold trims. The handle was heavily gilded but presents some wear. The piece doesn't have any chips or cracks. But the base has an irregularity in one spot that was painted over at the factory. RARE VINTAGE ENGLISH 1800'S ANTIQUE DRABWARE CERAMIC PITCHER VASE
Antique English Staffordshire drabware pitcher. This lovely pitcher was"originally" made by W. Ridgway in 1835. It is highly decorated with relief moulded designs and figures. The reproduction we offer includes an iridescent glazing. This one-of-a-kind piece is rare in that you won't see any other drubware pitcher piece with this tentative coloring and glazing. The interior indentions of the pottery are molded exactly to the exterior images so it was an intentional piece. Age of reproduction unknown. There is an English pub scene with revelers and their dogs and a barmaid. There is a clock on the wall in the background that originally showed the time as almost midnight. But in the wear of the piece, it only shows the outline of the clock. Another scene shows a galloping horse with rider being chased by witches. The handle of ... morethe pitcher depicts a horse's tail being held by a witches hand. The scenes on this jug actually are scenes from the Robert Burns(a poet from the 1700's) poem about Tam O'Shanter. The relief moulding is beautiful and quite detailed down to the weary horse's tongue hanging out. This was one of a handful of antique/Victorian pitchers/vases that my mother purchased and held dear all of her life. She passed last year. And I am selling some of her antiques to offset my father's medical expenses. This piece was most likely purchased in or near Savannah, GA where she was born or Jacksonville, FL where she lived when first married in the early 50s. There are no cracks. Chips, etc. but, like any similar pitcher of this age, there are areas of the gold trim on handle and base that are faded or missing. Also the top/rim shows age(see last photo) Please note that I have not cleaned nor washed it in any way. A gentle soap bath may well brighten that part of the porcelain.
