Vintage Handmade Painted Pitcher n Basin Bowl White w Grape Initialed and Dated

We picked up another item made by PS(from the same estate auction) and it too is initialed PS but is also signed Pearl Spanks(also 1970's dated) Pitcher measures 5-3/4" tall. 6" wide with handle, 2-1/4" across rim and 2-1/2" base. Basin measures 8" in diameter with handle sides and 2" tall. Very good condition. This auction features a great antique Royal Ironstone Wash Set. This set consists of a Large Pitcher(12 3/4" tall) and Bowl(14 1/2" across and 5" deep) A Smaller Pitcher(7 3/4" tall) a Vase(5 3/4" tall) a Shaving Mug(4" tall) and a round Soap Dish(4 3/4" with the insert. This set is in nice shape. It has no chips or cracks that we can find. It does show crazing. Some wear to the gold trim, and some discoloration on the inside of the bowl, all visible in the pictures. The basin has a raised grape pattern on each handle. The pitcher has a raised grape& vine pattern on each side. Measurements are approximately– Pitcher is 7 ½” tall x 6½”wide with a 5 ¼” diameter at its widest point. The bowl is 9 3/8” wide from handle to handle. 2 ½” tall and has an 8” diameter at the top. Condition– I am no pro and cannot grade this set. With that said I found; uniform crazing on both items(very pretty) no chips. No cracks. No previous repairs– simply wonderful! Makers Mark– Pitcher is not marked. The bowl is stamped with a name I cannot decipher(part of it looks like Cal? I really cannot tell) The number“1108” and“USA” This is ... moreone of many quality items from the same estate.This estate contained many items verified(some even documented) from the late1800’s thru the late 1930’s– some earlier. Some later, but predominantly within this time frame. I am not an expert and do not know the age of this wonderful set. Guessing from the style of the set. Apparent signs of age and the other items it was found with I would guess late 1800’s to 1920’s. Please review the pictures for yourself and make your own determination of age. THIS AUCTION IS FOR ONE ANTIQUE PITCHER AND WASH BOWL SET ELSTERWERDA POTTERY THESE ITEMS ARE OVER 100 YEARS OLD! The small factory was founded in 1900 right between the arms of the rivers Pulsnitz and Black Elster by a Mr. Korsukewiez who over the years slowly but surely increased the capacity until he employed up to 200 people in the 1920's and 30's. Although some other sources claim that the factory had a peak of 400 workers during 1925. Many famous designers and sculptors worked at the factory, for example the designer Ursula Fesca who worked there between 1928 and 1931 or other well-known artists like Siegfried Möller. Grete Gottschalk and Franz Eggert. Next to normal household items the factory also produced ceramic clocks during the Art Deco period and one of the decoration styles used is a typical example for a combined ... moreairbrush and stencil technique used during the mid-thirties. Used between 1900 and around 1918. U. ='Uhr' clock) the number is a combo of mold and decoration. Check via the email; elsterwerda pottery. Then, PM&M page ELSTERWERDA It should be noted that next to the shown marks from the period between the two wars the factory also used either the word'ELSTERWERDA' in a circle or simply a stamped'Elsterwerda handgemalt' and in a large number of cases the items were left unmarked and only received a simple sticker. After the end of WWII some of the machines and kilns were disassembled and sent to the Soviet Union as part of the reparation agreement. Sadly that is also the time where the whole company archive went missing; it is believed that it was either destroyed or(more probably) taken away with the machinery. Also shortly after WWII the factory mark was replaced by a stamped' V.V.B. Elsterwerda' which was then used until the'V.V.B.based structure for grouping nationalized companies was slowly abandoned in the early to mid-1950s in favour of the linear' V.E.B. approach. This auction is for a Lovely Antique Pitcher and Wash Bowl Set made in Belgium by Keramis. It is Beautifully designed with images of a long tailed and colorful bird amid pink and yellow and green flowers against a cream colored background. The pitcher is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks or repairs. There is a very slight and hard-to-see firing line in the lower part of the handle(see photo 10) It is not a hairline and doesn't go through and it appears to be under the glaze and made in the manufacturing process. Antique White Ironstone Pitcher & Bowl - Niagara Shape - Copper Lustre - c.1856
Offered is a gorgeous. Matching, White Ironstone Bowl& Pitcher in the Niagara Shape. This shape features wonderful embossing below the spout of the pitcher, and a series of fan shapes around the base of the pitcher and inner rim of the bowl. Both are beautifully outlined with copper lustre. They were produced by Edward Walley in Cobridge, England, and registered in November, 1856. Both pieces retain his impressed mark with the shape name. The bowl has a small chip on the underside rim and a tight hairline on the side of the bowl. The pitcher has spider lines on the bottom; one that goes a very short way up from the base. The pitcher also has a couple of pinpoint marks on the body from production. Antique pitcher and bowl set. Pitcher is in the form of a nautilus shell with sponged on 22k gold accents. Coral branch handle with seaweed designs in relief. No makers mark but it does have a registration number. Oval shaped basin is 6 1/2 inches deep x 17 1/2 long. The pitcher is 13 inches high x 11 wide. Most unusual set I have seen in 30 years of this business and it is of museum quality. Probably a European turn of the last century export made for one of the commercial fishing villages along the east coast. Set is clean with no chips. Nicks, flakes or cracks.

Antique Victorian Huge English Wash Bowl Water Pitcher Aesthetic Blue Transferware HARVEST by Della Robbia Lovely and large water pitcher made by a not so well known North Staffordshire potter called Della Robbia Co. They were only in existence from 1894 until 1901. Located in Birkenhead. The pattern name"HARVEST" is printed on the bottom of the pitcher. The center swatch is indeed that of some workers in the field with flowers and stems projecting through it and around it. On the back side of the pitcher, the scene is repeated but in a smaller size. Between the two scenes there is a small sprig of flowers and leaves. This pitcher has a segmented melon shaped body. Scalloped top and rope handle. The pitcher measures 11-1/2" tall and about 8" wide(across the widest part of the body) This is the size you would find with ... morea wash basin bowl! Would look so nice in a cottage decor or at a bed and breakfast. The pitcher is in excellent condition! If I didn't know its age and only looked at its condition. I would think it was nearly new! There are no chips or cracks or crazing. The only very minor thing I see are some light grayish marks along the rope handle which appear to have been done in manufacturing, perhaps thinner paint coverage. Also, a few craze lines on the bottom exterior of the pitcher and a few inside the pitcher, only on the surface. The pitcher is immaculately clean, inside and out. The glaze is nice and shiny. A true beauty!

Up for auction is this lovely Victorian Style Royal Crownford Ironstone Pitcher& Bowl. It has a red transferware design of flowers and leaves against a white background. Both pieces are in very good condition. There are no chips. Cracks or staining on either piece. The transfer image and colors are vivid and clear. Both pieces are marked with the Royal Crownford, Staffordshire England and the Standing Lion stamps. The pitcher is 11-½” tall and the bowl is 14-½” across. Offered for auction is a beautiful antique wash/bath set with a blue& white floral design;it was purchased as a set.The larger pieces are marked,the smaller ones are not marked,which to my knowledge, is not uncommon.The mark on the underside reads" Maddocks Works-Lamberton-Royal Porcelain"a company out of Trenton New Jersey which existed from 1893-1915. This set consists of a large bowl with a pitcher,a chamber pot,a handled slop bucket with a lid,a tumbler,and a soap dish with a lid. Moderna Flow Blue Pitcher and Bowl Set by J&G Meakin, England
Up for your consideration is a beautiful FLOW BLUE pitcher and bowl set made by J& G Meakin. Hanley, England. This set is in the Moderna Pattern which was produced by them from 1903-1911, making this piece over 100 years old. The pitcher measures 11 inches tall by 11 1/2 inches across. The bowl measures 17 1/2 inches across by 5 1/4 inches deep. Condition is excellent for a piece of this age. There are no repairs, chips or cracks. The piece is very clean and was very gently used. There are several small glaze pops that can be seen in the photo's and a small rough spot on the bowl rim which can be seen in photo 3. There is a barely visible surface scratch on the pitcher, but I couldn't get a photo of it. It does not go through and can barely be noticed. This Basin and pitcher are unknown to me. I paid a good buck at a church charity auction. The pitcher is 11 inches at the highest point and the bowl is 15 inches. There is a very slight off color at the bottom of the bowl. The bowl also has a very faint bluish tint to it. It is a very nice set that I am now going to box up. Using plastic or cloth then packing material. The older woman stated do not put newspaper on it for whatever reason. So I will not. Maybe the ink from the paper. This is Old Paris Porcelain and the colours and condition are gorgeous. The colours remain very vivid and very stunning in the colours of pink and aqua. they make a gorgeous appearance together with the added white porcelain. Surrounding the entire two pieces is the 24 K gold. Outstanding. I made the photos very large for viewing. The bowl has the open appearance like lace surrounding it as shown and the bowl is in wonderful condition with NO chips. NO cracks. just perfect. for its age. The pitcher as shown remains with NO chips, and NO cracks. this is perfect in this way. but you notice how the pitcher sits at a bit of a slant as this is how it came out and remains this way. There is also ... morea blue stamp French marking on the base however this is smeared also from the baking back then. This is truly a treasure to find and have in your collection. A matching vintage Washbowl with it's respective Pitcher. The items are large, together over a foot tall! The coloring is very unique, typically we see these in off white/egg white coloring. This set is a beautiful, a light butter creme color that blends to a tan camel brown ... morewith sculpted matching arrays of design on both the pitcher and washbowl. The transfer is in perfect condition! The picture depicts an intricately detailed Garden of Eden if you will, with a young man and his courting lady(Adam and Eve from what we can decipher in this stunning scene! with small sheep around them lounge in the garden, a flowering red tree(Apple Tree? in the background. This is a masterpiece! There are no splits tho we did note sadly there is a tiny. Tiny"scratch/hairline crack" if you will for a better word on the inside of the washbowl. It is about 2" long and it is not deep at all it's like a scratch really it's not"cracked" because it's not penetrated it's on the surface as a hairline crack. There is also some light grey crackling wear spots on one side of the interior of the bowl, from it's use it rubbed against eachother and made these markings. The WashBowl is 16" across. It has a beautiful hand-painted floral design and the bottom of the pitcher and bowl is marked“Hand Painted Made in Brazil. The pitcher is approximately 8" high x 6 1/2" wide x 5 1/2" deep and the bowl is approximately 2 3/8" high x 9 3/4" round. This is from our mother’s estate. Johnson Bros England Royal Ironstone China Pitcher and Wash Basin Bowl -Matching
This is a very large antique Johnson Brothers Ironstone/Semi Porcelain Washbasin and Pitcher. The bowl measures 17 1/4 across and 4 1/2 inches high. The pitcher measures 9 inches across and 11 1/2 inches high. The tag on the bottom(as purchased) says circa 1890-1915. It is in very good antique condition with no cracks or chips on the pitcher and mild crazing consistent with age. The washbasin has no cracks but a tiny flea bite on the underside which is not visible from above. There are some scratches on the bottom of the bowl where the pitcher sits but again consistent with age. Considering this is around 100 years old it is in very good condition. Please use the zoom feature on the pictures as I find this to be an addition to the description. Please ask all questions as this is a final sale auction.
