This is a medium sized Wedgwood milk or cream pitcher in the dark ... moreblue Jasperware. This is a heavier bodied Wedgwood piece, almost a stoneware or an ironstone type composition. It is decorated all around its sides with a typical scene from Greek Mythology. In one panel, a younger maiden seems to be consoled by an older woman, as if the younger woman has given up her child, whose hand the older woman is holding. On the other side, two well dressed women interact. One holds a cornucopia and the other has a peacock at her feet. I believe that this is a scene with Hera, Queen of the Gods(peacock) and Demeter, Goddess of the Harvest(cornucopia) Various nude cupids are also in the scene. I am just amazed at the detail that Wedgwood achieved with these slip decorations. One can actually see the individual flowers in the cornucopia The top rim is decorated with a high relief trim of flowers and leaves. The interior is glazed to safely hold liquid. It measures 6 1/2" tall, 2 1/8" wide across the top rim, and 4 1/4" long from spout tip to handle's edge. The piece is marked with impressed letters, WEDGWOOD ENGLAND. There are also a few scattered symbols and numbers on the underside base. I can distinguish. a 3 and and 0. Using the Wedgwood dating code system of a 3 being used in 1907, and then starting with"J" each following year would have the next letter of the alphabet. If I'm interpreting this information correctly, 3 0" would refer to 1912. If I did this correctly, this is the earliest of the Wedgwood pieces that I have for sale. This WONDERFUL Wedgwood pitcher is in near mint condition. There is a small, 1/16" shallow flake on the lower exterior, directly above the base rim. It reminds me of Worcester. But it could be Austria or Germany. In great condition, no chips or cracks, afew light rub marks on the ecru background that I believe would polish out(picture 10) Measures 13.25" tall. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and therefor is no longer perfect as the day it was made. But ran out of time with no luck. what looks like a teeny chip on the base is a factory flaw that is glazed over. it is about the size of a pin-head. Really small and easy to over look. Cracks or repairs It is ribbed on the top half and has a diamond pattern on the bottom half. Base is marked U.S.A. and the number 808. It was suggested by a friend that it is California Pottery but it is not marked such- certainly CP made similar pitchers but so did some other US pottery companies. I love the colour. It is very striking. Not the usual brown or green. I would think this is from the 1950s or maybe 1960s. EXQUISITE c1840-1860 GOTHIC ENGLISH SALT GLAZED PORCELAIN PITCHER/EWER Presented is a very fine English salt glazed porcelain pitcher. This piece dates to circa 1840-1860. The pitcher is very ornate and very Gothic in style. The exterior features figures of saints or clerics standing in arched alcoves. The top of the handle has two faces of stately bearded men. One facing in either direction. The whole piece is very reminiscent of a cathedral, and may even be modeled on the design a specific cathedral. The overall effect is as though a cathedral had been wrapped around the exterior of the pitcher. The interior of the piece is done in a high glaze, and is completely clean and useable. This piece is in near perfect condition. As one of the photos shows. There is a slight discoloration on one of the faces on the handle. This is not to be considered ... morea flaw, as this is original to the manufacture of the piece, a result of slight impurities reacting when fired in a kiln. After military service. He rented a porcelain decorating workshop in the Faubourg Montjovis(Limoges) in 1836, doing export. About 1872 Guerin took over the porcelain workshop of Lebron& Cie. Then in 1877 he bought the porcelain factory that had been established by Jouhanneaud and Dubois in Rue du Petit-Tour(Limoges) And which had been bought in 1867 by the Utzschneider Company of Saurregemines and run by Leopold Dubois. This enlarged company produced a wide range of wares, selling a lot of whiteware and also continuing decoration. Guerin's sons William and Andre joined the company in 1903. In 1911 W. Guerin& Cie merged with the nearby Pouyat factory. Buying 3/4 of Pouyat; the new firm became Guerin& Cie. Possibly both company marks were continued. WWI greatly decreased output. Hand painted under glaze a floral design with two butterflies. In deep blue, dusty rose, light green. The dragon or Griffon is walnut brown with yellow ochre coloring. This ewer is marked with an incised number of 817 with 28 under it. And in black a# 1622? the 16,the third# I think is 2(see pictures} something illegible below that that is like a couple letters and a gold curved line(see pic 9) This is in good c ondition no cracks or crazing there are a few chips around th e spout and the cold tri m is worn off around spout. Offered is a beautifully embossed White Ironstone Tall Pitcher or Ewer in the Hanging Basket Shape. This lovely pitcher is a more square shape with embossed flowers on a vine. Flowing from a hanging basket. It also has a ribbed handle with a beaded thumbrest. It was produced by Thomas Furnival& Sons in Cobridge, England circa the 1880's, and retains their mark. This piece has a tight. Light hairline on one side of the spout(see photos) and some light crazing. It is otherwise excellent with no chips. Large Antique Hand Painted Ewer Pitcher Gold Edged Signed P.K. 1900 17" x 8"
This is a beautiful handpainted antique ewer or pitcher. It is large in size and stands 17" high and it is 8" wide. Weighing just under 4lbs. The only markings are a handpainted signiture on the lower"cupid" side which reads"P.K. 1900. I am unsure if that is a date, but going by appearance this vase could very well be that old. The handle and base are painted in gold paint and the edges of the scenes are done in a raised gold border. One side depicts a cupid on a chariot of doves, and the other side depicts a man ad women in fancy old-fashioned costumes. The rest of the vase is painted a sky blue. It is in good antique condition with subtle fading and slight paint loss throughout. There are two more noteable chips on the base which someone has painted over(one blue and one gold) please see the pictures. Still a very ... morelovely and presentable vase. Antique Victoria Carlsbad Horn Shaped Stamped Hand Painted Pitcher / Ewer
Here is a Antique Victoria Carlsbad Austria brown stamped odd shaped Pitcher/ Ewer from the late 1800s to early 1900s. There are no chips. Cracks or crazing on it there are two seams on it each one has a small bump where it meets the base. The handle is a three pronged twig or root and is intact, there is a bell shaped opening under the rim and it is decorated with hand painted purple and yellow flowers. It is Beautifully decorated with Flow Blue images of a Windmill lake scene on each side and hand applied sponge gilt accents and gold trim work. The piece is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks. The piece has fine. Even crazing throughout, which is expected from porcelain of this era and adds character and authenticity. I have for you this evening a beautiful porcelain pitcher or ewer by the Austrian porcelain manufacturer and design studios of Robert Hanke in Bohemia. This lovely pitcher is in the Nouveau style and made of nice quality porcelain with a blush glaze that was all the rage in Europe at the time. The vase has been hand painted with stylized flowers with orange accent color and trimmed in raised gold slip work. The piece is dusted with gold on the face and the reverse and the base and rim are gilded as well as having a heavily gilded handle. The mold shape is pleasing to the eye and the handle is very tactile along with some scroll work at the neck. When all the elements are combined this becomes a very desirable piece by this maker and would make a great addition to your collection. Dancing Figures Copper Colored Ceramic Lusterware Ewer Pitcher Jug Signed XLNT
Old copper finish lusterware ewer pitcher jug in highly ornamented DANCING FIGURES pattern going all around the body and neck of the piece. There is a very broad pour spout and high handle. The base is signed E M scribed directly into the ceramic. There appears to have been some writing or printing on the base under the glaze. But it is now totally illegible. The piece is in amazingly great condition with no breaks, scratches, cracks, rubs or crazing of the finish. The texture of the pitcher is smooth, the broad pour spout, the handsome handle, and the body of the jug are free of any noticeable problems. The base exhibits some wear as would be expected from normal movement with use. Any whitish areas in photographs 8, 9, 10 and 11 are artifacts from use of the flash to help show the pattern better. Photographs 7 and 11 are of the same area ... moreof the jug, and although the finish appears dull in photograph 11, it is actually as shiny as the rest of the piece, as shown in photograph 7. The pitcher is 9 1/8 inches in height to the top of the handle and 7 inches in height to the top of the pour spout. It is 7 inches from the top of the handle to the top of the spout and 3 1/2 inches across the opening. The base is 5 inches in diameter. The piece weighs 2 pounds 1 ounce unwrapped.

Up for bidding is a Pitcher/Ewer that measures approximately 14 inches from the top of the handle to the bottom and is approximately 8 inches wide. It is white and a creamy yellow with multicolor floral. Vines, and butterfly decorations. There is a dimensional grouping on the front of three porcelain flowers, one edged in blue, one in pink, and one in lavender. Also, there are two pink buds and leaves. The pitcher has stunning gold highlights and detail throughout, as well as along the rim, handle and bottom. The marking on the bottom is in gold- it is a crown with"RK" underneath and Dresden Germany- please refer to the photograph. There are a few condition issues which I have ... moretried to document in the photographs. All are on the grouping of flowers on the front of the pitcher. There are a couple of chips on the blue flower. A two small chips on the pink flower, and a piece of a leaf missing. There are no cracks, crazing or visable signs of wear. Information on Richard Klemm: He founded a porcelain decorating studio in Striesen. Germany in 1869. The decorating style of Richard Klemm closely matched that of the Meissen factories at that time. He often used a heavily applied style that focused on florals. In many instances, the porcelain pieces of Richard Klemm are emblazoned with a gold leaf at the base. Offered is a gorgeous. Tall White Ironstone Pitcher or Ewer in the Fig Shape. This shape features wonderful embossing, a ten-sided body, with a beautiful handle and recessed base. This piece was produced by J. Wedgwood in Tunstall, England and registered in November of 1856. It retains his impressed mark. This pitcher has some spots of glaze wear or flaking on the inner spout. And a little on the outer edge of the handle(see photos) There is also crazing and some light age coloring, primarily on the interior. Antique Ironstone Cockson and Seddon Ewer/Pitcher Cable and Ring Relief Stamped
Offering a very graceful Antique White Ironstone Ewer/Pitcher featuring a Victorian Cable and Ring relief design on both sides of the top of the handle. The cable crosses over the top of the handle creating a thumb rest. The bottom stamp"Imperial Ironstone China Cockson and Seddon" dates back to the 1870's. The pitcher is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. Some fine light crazing overall and one minor blemish on one side, not very noticeable at all. This can be seen in the next to last picture. The pitcher stands about 12 3/4" tall, is about 8 1/2" from tip of spout to edge of handle and weighs about 4 lbs unpackaged. If you collect spatterware. Here is a piece that will stand out in your collection. It is a 10 1/2" tall, ewer form pitcher with fluted sides, a pedestal foot and five colors. They are yellow, black, blue, red and green. The handle is quite fancy with a thumb rest, spurs and curlicues. It was made in the Staffordshire district in the 1830's period and has an impressed numeral"5" on the base. When I acquired this pitcher, it had an old repair to the right side of the spout for a missing piece of the rim. I had this professionally restored by a true artist and it looks absolutely perfect. Most people would think it was perfect. Not that many years ago, five color rainbow spatter pitchers were bringing twelve to fourteen thousand dollars.
