I'found' this in my barn- hanging in the rafters were I was placing gable ... morepediments. I thought for the longest time I had this piece listed- but alas it was not. I bought this piece about 5 or 6 years ago. Has a great checkered design in the triangle pediment area- the green paint is creak. Nice crackled finish. The top of the peak is unpainted- it must have been covered as the green paint was NEVER applied to the piece. The bottom edge needs to be trimmed- it has some soft spots on it- I tried to capture this in the pictures. I would estimate about 1 to 1.5" needs to be trimmed on the bottom edge for a smooth. Even edge. Measures 108.5" long is 39" at peak& 8.5" deep. Old square nails are studding the backside also. Has metal flashing on top edge. medium/large victorian pediment or furniture topper antique vintage
This furniture part or topper. Pediment etc is old but I have no date. Otherwise it is in excellent condition; wood appears to be black walnut, chestnut, or similar type dark hardwood. Size is 27" long by 4 inches high. About 1 inch thick. I bought this in New England for a project and know nothing other than the above about this piece. Blue paint looks like a recent addition, I think this piece would be much prettier stripped and refinished to show off the nice wood.

ANTIQUE WALNUT VICTORIAN SPOON CARVED VINTAGE FRETWORK CORNICE FURNITURE PEDIMENT A lovely. Antique, Eastlake Victorian furniture pediment that appears to be made out of walnut. It has spoon carved decoration with has traces of gold still inside. There are spools that decorated each side and woodwork that looks like a crown. This lovely furniture pediment measures approximately 48" long x 6 1/4" high on each end and about 6 1/2" in the middle. There is about a 3" slope from the top flat part, down to the front of the spools. It appears that the blocks, in the middle next to the spools, were added recently. One of the points of the crown, in the middle, is missing and the scallop on one end is missing the top. A couple of other scallops have some damage to the wood that is not really that noticeable. There is a metal ring ... moreon each side for hanging, two screws in the back that were probably used to attach it to a piece of furniture, and the front has two nails in the wood, where someone must have hung something. Beautiful Oak Pediment with carved leaves and burl embellishments. Also Eastlake spoon type carving on the ends that also have a hint of the Art Nouveau look! There is a arch in the middle that shows that it is attached with dowels. Not nails. Also the top(or could be the bottom if you like) has a ledge that is 1 5/8" wide. One of them(see photo) is missing the rosette in the middle and the wood is separating at the top and needs to be glued down(see photo) There must have been something else on the very top, because there is a dowel hole on the top of each one(see photo) Everything else looks great on these wonderful old pediments! This beautiful French architectural woodenware is the perfect size to hang over a door to embellish an entrance way. Giant. Antique, architectural panel. Solid walnut construction and guaranteed an authentic, Victorian era piece. It has thick, bevelled trim along the bottom and raised bevelled panels far left and right. 2 vertical, fluted columns have contoured bases and round medallions at top. In the middle is a leafy carving with another raised, bevelled panel surrounding it. Above the beveled cornice trim is a dramatic sunrise decoration. ANTIQUE CARVED PEDIMENT CREST Striking antique Victorian carved walnut dresser. Mirror or bed pediment crest measuring 28-1/2" long, about 16" tall and about 1-5/8" deep at the thickest point. Featuring simple carved and stylized graduated arms on each side edge, center is finished with two incised leaves around a tiered floral mount- an applied crown or crest completes the top. The peak is pierce carved with a charming heart design- crest is made of two pieces that are block mounted with an overlap creating an almost three-dimensional effect. Turn of the Century Victorian Carved Wood Pediment 53"w x 18"h header topper
Available for Immediate Purchase is ONE( 1) ANTIQUE USED Turn of the Century Victorian Carved Wood Pediment- dimensions 53"w x 18"h. Maximum thickness is 3" wood appears to be walnut but unknown- may have topped a large piece of furniture or wall item as the distance between inside of mortise joints is only 29 ½ inches- estimated vintage late 1890s to early 1900s(nails used appear to be wire nails. Not cut nails) purchased from an estate sale. The son of the deceased owner stated he did not know where the item came from and that this piece had been hung over a door in the owner's garage woodshop for many years- the piece is dusty and the son had attempted to clean off the dust with a brush so the color now appears as multiple shades- there is some ornate carving at the top of the crown(see pictures) that is a bit scratched, ... morepossibly from the cleaning attempt- there are some cracks and some old insect damage primarily on the rear- there is some white paint along the bottom of the unit- see photos for more details ADDITIONAL INFO- actual item is shown in photos(unless otherwise noted) if there is no'best offer" option then we are not currently accepting offers- please ask any pertinent questions prior to committing to purchase PAYMENT Payment is due within 7 days of purchase. Stunning Victorian Era 1800s Antique Carved Wood Pediment Over Mantel Mirror? We traveled an hour and a half South into central Illinois for a football game this week. And I took the opportunity of going treasure hunting in the cornfields. I found a surprising variety– there’s something for everyone this week! The best word to describe this one is AWESOME! I took one look at it. And it stopped my in my tracks. I don't know if it is a part from a piece of furniture, or an architectural piece- but my guess is latter. It looks like some type of small over mantel or maybe over a mirror or hall tree. It's a stunning fancy Victorian era pediment that will be yours to decide, though. made of solid wood with a very dark patina, it measures 21" widest, 7 1/2" deepest and 31" tallest at the center of the top decoration- that's ... moremeasuring on the farthest spots of the outside walls. The inside(measuring on the inside walss of the front) opening is 16 5/8" wide 4 7/8" deep front to back at the lower unadorned half, amd 18" tall from the bottom of the feet to the"ceiling" on the inside top. It weighs a smidge under 8 lbs. It's in excellent solid and sturdy structural condition- with tongue and groove construction that you can see at the back- this is a quality piece. At the front bottom half, if you look at photos 10& 11, you can see two small nail holes on either side- so it was clearly mounted to or behind something on that lower half. The good news is that it stands on its own as it is- as you can see in my photos, and also that it's stained the same color there- although not varnished, I don't believe, but because of the stain, it really does not stand out to me- see what you think in my photos. The finish is in overall nice shape- with some scratching and scraping. There's a 4" long light shallow scratch the top left that you can see in photo 8. There's some other smaller scratches there too. That's the worst of it as far as the front/show

Antique GABLE PEDIMENT vintage VICTORIAN (QUANTITY)
Hello again. Fellow collectors! This week I am listing VINTAGE ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE. You are bidding on ONE VINTAGE VICTORIAN GABLE PEDIMENT. These were salvaged from an old late 1800's Iowa two story Victorian farm house that was torn down. They measure 7 feet across at the base. Approximately 4 feet tall to fit a 12/12 pitched gable. Made from 3/4" Ponderosa pine stock. Currently they are painted, I can strip them for an extra cost(but not until springtime when things warm up) I can add more pictures of the other two if need be but I have to dig them out first. They are the same in detail, the paint is different, I know one is all green) Compare to similar pediments listed on eBay for sale. Shipping paid by buyer and will have to be calculated according to which carrier used and quantity bought.
