BEAUTIFUL 1 GALLON ANTIQUE STONEWARE/COBALT JUG featuring a handsome cobalt design. Jug is approximately 12" tall and the base diameter measures 7" There are no marker's marks. The handle is in great shape. There is. However, a chip out of the jug lip(see photo) It is quite smooth so it has probably been there for many years. There are a few small chips on the front(see photos) Again, they are smooth and appear quite old. There is a very thin and tight hairline 5" crack at the back of the jug which extends on to base of the jug- about 3" The jug appears quite stable and these imperfections do not distract from its charm and beauty. I am not an expert and selling in"as-is" condition. I am downsizing and have to let go of some of my treasures. Happy bidding! No minimum.

R.C.P. Company RCP Akron Ohio 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Whiskey Jug VG to EXC COND
You're bidding on an antique R.C.P. Co. Akron Ohio 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jug in VG to EXC Condition. Please examine all 12 photos A yard sale find from Riverhead. NY, this item is in remarkable and beautiful condition. Looks like it came right out of the kiln By 1902 after many business mergers. The Robinson Clay Product Co. began producing many diversified products. Including jugs I've seen these types referred to as whiskey jugs. But other than the 1/2 gal mark beneath the glaze. There is nothing to bear that out here She measures 9"H by 5 1/2 diameter and weighs 3 lbs 4.4 oz. There are no cracks. Chips, fractures, and the glaze is shiny like new The bottom is unglazed and the lettering is stamp indented into the ceramic material. There is not a whiff of odor inside the jug I can only guess when this was produced. Bear in mind ... morethough. That I'm a seller, not a collector. I'll leave that for you to research FREE LOCAL PICKUP& FREE SHIPPING/HANDLING to the Paypal provided address. Near as fine collector condition as one likes to find them straight last week fresh plucked out of a one-man thirty year private collection culled locally in his lifetime, for you to reharvest and give new life to once again this brand new Spring 2013 debut listing from Colony Farm Antiques, the hard goods division of Lady Ellens' Fine Ware here on EBay, where we serve reenactors and select collector interests with supreme offerings. The open salt glazed Stoneware Crock is stamped with OTTMAN BRO'S over FORT EDWARD. Antique Robinson Clay Products Co. Stoneware 1 Gallon Jug Lamp /Blue stripe
Antique stoneware jug made by the Robinson Clay Products Co. founded in Akron. Ohio in 1856. The one gallon jug is decorated with a very artistic design with 2 sets of blue bands seperated with a white band in the middle. This jug was custom made into a lamp by a lighting firm in Avon, Ohio in 1992 for my home. The base of the jug was drilled and has a turned hardwood base and top with internal wiring. This jug lamp is in great condition with no chips. Cracks, stains or repairs. Works perfectly. There is a tight line extending about 2 1/2 in. from the spout on one side which does not effect the stability of the jug. The lamp is approx 12 1/2 in. tall and 7 1/4 in. diameter base. The height to the top of the socket is 16 in. Nice. Nice decorative lamp. Please review all pictures- they are an integral part of the description so you can bid ... moreappropriately. Please ask all questions before bidding. Payment with Paypal is required within 3 days of auction end. Unless prior arrangements have been made. Shipping to lower 48 states only. Thanks for looking! Extremely Scarce 1890's Utah Liquor Co. STONEWARE 1/4 Gallon CANTEEN JUG BOTTLE
Special thanks to David Emett for contacting me to correct the information of the size of this rare canteen. Pretty sure with the photos you have listed that this jug is a quarter gallon rather that a half gallon. I am not aware of anyone who has actually measured the capacity of the canteens but for over 40 years this size is considered the quart. I already have a set but my two half gallons could be upgraded. Your jug is an exceptional example of this rare piece. The rarity of the quart has held but several other half gallon examples have surfaced. The quart usually brings a higher price than the half. The gallon is still the toughest to get.
