The absolutely wonderful, charming and comical set of 3 prints show a man going through a Mason's initiation to accede to the Third Degree. Vintage WW1 World War One Cast Iron Picture Photo Frame 1917
Estate sale found early vintage circa"1917" cast iron or steel World War One military picture/photo frame in excellent condition. This was found with no photo present. The paint is very well preserved with a great patina and the rear prop leg is in excellent working order and the three swivel photo retaining pins are all present and also in great condition. Back is marked with a number as seen in image# 9. This has not been cleaned and still has many years of dust in the crevices. Measures approx. 9+1/4" high x 6+5/8" wide at the feet. Will accept a photo of approx. 6" x 4+1/4" with a 1/2" of inner frame lip variance for smaller sized images. Displays well, would look great with a period military portrait, a nice addition to any collection. Will be shipped USPS Priority Mail with tracking provided.

It will date to the Napoleon 111 era and is in excellent condition bar a tiny little chip on the edge of the glass as per the last photograph. This chip will not show when in use as the frame will cover it. There is still the marks around the outside edge. Which are left from its many years in the ebonized frame. Magnificent Antique GOLD EXHIBITION FRAME--WORLDS COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION 1893
This is a huge and complex gold picture frame made to hold JOSEPH WRIGHT'S portrait of MARTHA WASHINGTON for the EXHIBITION OF AMERICAN RETROSPECTIVE ART at the WORLD'S COLUMBIAN EXPOSITION. CHICAGO, 1893. Overall size is: 54" X 57" Rabbet size is 40 1/2" X 43" Appears to be a metallic gold finish with antiquing rather than gold leaf. Condition is generally good and sound, though there are miscellaneous small losses of gesso, and one modest loss to wooden inner insert. I determined that this was the frame for the Martha Washington picture by comparing the attached label with the exhibition catalog(which can be downloaded online from various sources) The second word of the title is clearly"WASHINGTON" And the letter"A" is clearly in the first. JOSEPH" is clearly the first name of the artist, ... moreand"W" is the first letter of the last name, with"T" the last letter. There were three pictures of the Washingtons in the exhibition by Joseph Wright, 2 of George, and 1 of Martha. No other combination of title and artist words in the exhibition catalog fits. Frame weighs about 70 lbs. And a plywood crate would add another 60 lbs or so. It can be moved up and down the east coast by an excellent fine arts mover without crating. Crating would produce a 130 lbs box about 60" X 64" X 8" Shipping would have to be worked out on a case by case basis. Possibly, I could deliver to some locations. Antique Late 1800's Gilded & Black Ornate Frame w/Oval Shape
DESCRIPTION& DETAILS: Victorian Late 1800's Gilded& Black Frame with amazing Scrolly Patterns and with Oval Frame. Found at local Swap Meet- just amazing frame and very unusual. The frame measures 15.5" x 19 3/4" inches overall. The interior oval measurements are 9.5" x 13.5" inches. Also. I did wipe it off with warm water and dirt did come off, but particularly in the upper right hand corner, there are some stains that I don't think will come off, but I think it still looks great. This is an antique tiger wood frame 16 1/2" x 21 1/2" wide. It is 14" x 18" on the inside. The print is a Morris and Bendien" Mother and Son" Isreals is in the other corner, probably the artist. The second picture is what is written on the back of the print. There is some darker places on the print that look like tornados where dirt got inside over the years and the frame has some light scratches that I touched up with stain. The biggest spot, picture 4, which is really not all that noticeable. The last picture was taken outside so there is some shading from the trees. PHOTOLITHOGRAPH ENTITLED "TWILIGHT" – CIRCA 1900’S
Up for bid is this very unusual and very beautiful photolithograph from approximately the 1900’s. I have had this appraised. And this is what I found out about the piece: This is a very nice example of the application of photography to the printing industry at the end of the 19th and the early 20th century. Works like this were produced as high quality reproductive prints. Inspired or copied from original works of art. In the case of this print entitled Twilight. Manz Engravers of Chicago have produced a fine, high quality reproduction of the painting by the same name. Appearing very much like a figure from a Maxfield Parrish painting, this wood nymph is shown in a pose of surprise and modesty by the artist. The overall piece has the mood and look of one of Parrish’s finely painted characters, rendered here in black and white, with only the ... morefaintest touches of color. Works of this sort were generally produced in rather large editions and the fact that all three addresses for Braun and Cie are cited at the right may indicate that this print was intended for distribution in New York. Paris, and London, along with Chicago. Now for the history of this print: I really know very little about where it came from. My great aunt and uncle discovered this hanging in a farm house they were renting back in the 1940’s. How long it had been there before they found it is anyone’s guess. If I had to put an age to this. I would say it is at least 85+ years old. I believe the frame is original to the piece. It is made from a dark wood(the pictures I have here show the frame a little lighter than it actually is) Again, I really can’t say exactly what kind of wood it is. The frame size is 17-1/2” x 18-3/4” while the picture itself measures 10” x 13” It has a wood back and I did very carefully remove the backing to see if there were any markings on the back of the print or on the frame and found none. I placed the backing and the small brad nails holding it in place back exactly where they were. The only condition problem I have

This is a lovely lady cooling off her feet in a lake! There is some water damage on the picture.But it seems to have avoided her! Most of it is on the lake or the green hills,which to me, does not detract from the lovely scene at all. There is one area that goes down her one arm and across her dress. I am not bothered by that and as I say, I would rather have the'look' of old and authentic, than a snapshot from Wal Mart! I have been told by a professional dealer that the frame is more valuable than the print.He suggested I start at $150. for the frame! It has carved out leaves and design that are hand painted. He told me the repairs to it are minimal at the corners. I have left it as it is, again, because I like the look of original.
