This F o lk Art ... moreweather vane dates to the 19th century. Copper forms are soldered together and the figures are hollow. This is a very large piece. The measurements are 31"W x 16.5"H. One wheel is missing a spoke and two spokes are loose on one end. I can see no other areas that need repair. This has been in a private collection for over 20 years. I do not know the original area that it came from. We had it appraised 10 years ago And the value was $10.000. I also have a magazine clipping where it shows this weather vane brought $10,450 at a Munda and Associates sale in Freeport Illinois December 15 of 2002. See photograph. Berkley Lightning Shock Rod 7' med heavy action
Up for sale is a L IGHTLY used Berkley Lightning Shock. It is 7' Med Heavy Action. Fireline 30-50 lb recommended. Trilene 10-25 lb recommended. Lure weight 1/4- 1 1/4. The rod is mainly orange with gray and black. There are 7 rod eyes and a hook keeper. A split grip handle. There may be a few scuffs just due to transpo rt of the rod in the boat. I have honestly used this rod only 5 or 6 times. I just don't have the time to go or use this rod. Most of the time it is ultra light rods with my 3 year old. I found this Large Cast Aluminum Horse at an estate sale. They didn't know where it came from other than it was their Parents. It looks like it was attached to a weathervane and broke off. Nice decorative rooster, made from copper that has developed a nice aged green patina. He is standing on an arrow and there is a pole that extends downward to attach it to a pole. He is in good vintage condition, the feather on the arrow has separated from the shaft about 3/4 of the length, but it still remains attached. Rooster measures 18" tall. 16" wide, the arrow is 24" long and the pole extends below the arrow for just over 2" Nice Primitive Weather Vane Rooster. Great Primitive Piece to use inside or out. Copper forms are soldered together and the figures are hollow. This is a very large piece. The measurements are 31"W x 16.5"H. One wheel is missing a spoke and two spokes are loose on one end. 4 1/2" Silver merc plain round lightning rod ball. This ball has 1" caps that are threaded onto the tube. One of the caps has some splitting as pictured. The mercury coating is close to 100% with typical haze. No chips or cracks in the body of the ball. Overall condition is very good.

Being offered is one antique glass lightning rod ball made by the Goshen Lightning Rod Company dating back to the early 1900's. It is amethyst in color with a moon and star pattern and measures approximately 4 1/4 inches across and 5 inches end to end from the collars(openings measure 7/8" inside diameter) There is some light chipping and rough edges on the collars which is quite common on antique lightning balls. Black scorching is visible but overall in great condition for its age. Amethyst in the moon and star pattern is hard to come by. Here is an opportunity to acquire one. We had every intention of using it. But never did as we own horses so, of course, our weathervane is of a horse. It has been stored in our garage since gifted and now needs to find a suitable home. Neat Old and Original Circus Horse Weathervane and Blue Milk Glass Quilt Lightning Rod Ball. Weathervane is called a Circus Horse vane because it has a belly band around the horse's middle. Weathervane is hollow bodied and made in the 1915-20's. The horse is tim metal and the front arrow is old cast iron. Weathervane measures 33 inches long. Horse measures 14 inches long.10 inches tall and about 1 1/8 inches thick. This weathervane style was very popular way back then for the roofs of Barns and old Victorian Homes. Horse was large enough to be easily seen from some distance. This one fit over a 5/8 common lightning rod-the most common rod. The blue milk glass"quilt" ball measures 5 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall. It will fit over the common rod or the more fancy twisted star rod. Both items look great together. You are buying a Lightning rod point old antique copper 7 3/8" single aged bronze color This lightning rod point is in good condition and nicely aged from 100 plus years in the weather. The copper has weathered nicely over the years and has achieved a neat bronze color patina. This point was made from solid copper. There is a slight dent in the one side which slightly distorts the point. It fits on 1/2" i.d. or 5/8" o.d. copper pipe to put on a lightning rod stand. 19th Century American Copper Running Horse & Sulky Weathervane & Directionals
19th Century American Full Body Copper and Metal Running Horse and Sulky Weathervane ca. 1880-90 with Directionals. The rider and horse have great form. The weathervane has great patina- nice verdigris color. SIZE: Horse and Sulky are 30 inches long x 14 inches high x 6 1/2 inches wide. Directional is 40 inches high x 23 inches wide. CONDITION: The weathervane has natural wear from age and exposure. The horse has a hole in its knee for placement on the directional. A few of the spoke wheels are slightly bent on the sulky. On one side. Two wheel spokes are separated from the round wheel. There are some dents and dings overall. Directional- the top ball has dents, and the bottom smaller ball has a couple small dents. The pole is slightly bent near the directionals. Great piece of old Folk Art. This item will be shipped in two boxes.

This is a dark cobalt blue ear of corn ball with rod and glass tail windvane. These balls were used*only* in Harrisburg Pa and were made in small numbers in various colors with true milk glass being the most common. In the 32 years I have collected insulators and lightning rods. I have seen only 1 other cobalt blue and it was pictured in a book. This LRB is in top condition having only minor nibbling around the opening and you are getting the complete rod set. The glass in the vane is NOT original. I custom make glass inserts for vanes that are missing the original glass.
