A very beautiful and fine antique. Circa 1850's, mahogany shaving or vanity stand with adjustable mirror. The serpentine mahogany base is on four bun feet, the elevation with finely figured mahogany veneers. The mahogany mirror uprights are carved as acanthus scrolls, the mirror frame with figured veneers. It measures 34" tall by 31" wide by 12-1/2" deep at center. Mirror glass measures 18-1/2" by 24-1/2" Very good plus condition: original finish, beautiful color to the woods. Three small veneer chips to the mirror frame. Small spot on back of mirror with silver loss and some spotting near.

A very nice antique. Circa 1870's, Renaissance Revival over mantel mirror. It is in carved walnut with elaborate crest having a carved lady figurehead and drape with tassels. There are decorative raised panels with rosewood veneers, and incised line designs gilted in. There are two later holes drilled in the upper frame where it would be bolted to the wall. The crest is missing the finial carving on top of the flat top. As presented it measures 6'11" 83" tall By 5'2" 62" wide by 9" deep at lady head. The mirror measures 55-1/2" tall 46-1/2" wide. Very good condition: original unworn finish to walnut and rosewood. Gilt incised lines mostly filled. Minor crack to frame upper right. All rosewood without chipping. A very fine antique. Circa 1830's, Empire style solid and flame veneered mahogany tall chest of drawers. There are two bowed drawers over five graduated drawers. All retain their locks, five brass key holes(two brass missing) and twelve original brass bail pulls. The case is on front carved claw feet supporting tapered full found pillars having flame mahogany veneer, with carved capitols, and squared carved rosettes above. The drawer fronts are butterflied flame mahogany veneers, the drawer interiors in maple. The drawer undersides are chamfered. The solid mahogany case sides have recessed mahogany panels. Chest measures 58-1/4" tall by 45" wide by 24" deep. Excellent condition: original finish, some chipping to claw feet, minor veneer chips at top edge of two long drawers. Top two boards without cracks or ring spots.

Five beveled mirrors including two side dressing mirrors which are adjustable, beautiful heavy carved finials above the three larger mirrors which clearly distinguish it as French and mirror back candle stands 16 1/2 inches above the lovely top surface on the dresser. The drawers on this lovely dressing table are dovetailed and have gorgeous burl walnut veneer decorative fronts and fabulous original metal drawer pulls. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO SEE IT IN THE 8TH PHOTO, BUT IT IS VERY LIGHT. THE MIRROR AND CARVED STAND FOR THE MIRROR DO DETACH FROM THE TABLE FOR EASY TRANSPORT. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN OAK VANITY DRESSER(1) Fantastic antique. Oversized Victorian period oak vanity dresser. This piece was probably manufactured by Karges and it will date into the 1870s-1880s period. The best part about this piece is that it is has not been refinished or altered since it was manufactured. The photo speaks for itself. This piece is massize measuring approximately 94" tall and 53.5" wide. Good luck finding another of this quality and size. Aside from a few minor flaws to the top and dulling of the finish, I can't fault this piece. Considering the age, I would give this a 8 or 9 out of 10. Antique Dresser, Hand-carved Walnut &Leaf Pulls, Price greatly reduced!
Will ship if you make arrangements. This dresser was handmade in the Midwest during the Civil War period. Likely before 1860. The back of the dresser shows it belonged to Henry Wims(Williams) An ex-slave according to the News-Palladium from Benton Harbor Michigan(Saturday, April 1, 1950(pg.9) Henry came up to Benton Harbor from Kentucky through Indiana in 1882. When he was a young man, about 20 years of age. He had been to Louisville where the cars stopped and where there was a great concentration of Union soldiers during the Civil war and decided to follow the railroad north and see where the tracks joined the"Underground railway" that he had heard so much about. Also, his wife's father lived at St. Joseph, where there were many ex-slaves and their descendants. His travels brought him to Benton Harbor. The solid walnut dresser ... morehas hand-carved walnut and leaf pulls. Hand-dovetailed drawers and square nails show expert craftsmanship. Finish is excellent with warm antique patina. There are minor stains and likely some wax drippings of candles on the top; missing and broken trim on the bottom left; broken side edge at the back right of the dresser. see photos) Size of this classic American furniture is 40"wide. 17 3/4" deep, and 39" tall.
