We are not certain but believe he was a Bishop. This is a"Chasuble" which is the outermost liturgical vestment worn by clergy for the celebration of the Eucharist in Western-tradition Christian Churches that use full vestments. The chasuble measures about 43 inches long from the top of the collar to bottom hem. It has the old style"bell-shape" to it. The material is a creamish white linen-blend? like material. The chasuble is embroidered with art deco lines and"IHS" ... morewhich of course stands for In His Service. This robe is vintage and used. It would benefit from a dry cleaning. We have not done so. There is some wear consistent with age and being worn. This wear might be found in frayed material, frayed trim, etc. There are quite a few spots/stains on this piece and yellowing around the collar. This chasuble has a makers tag that says: Vanpoulles Ltd. London, SWI. And another tag that says Made in France. It appears to have a good age to it. White Stole Vestment for Priest or Minister This is a nice older stole and in excellent condition! It truly looks amazing! It is made of a silk like material with lovely sun-rays impressed as a pattern in it. It is lined in gold. It has a lace stole protector at the neck. A cross at the neck for kissing. There are nice crosses and fringe at the end of the stole. There is a very nice cord with tassels that holds it together in the center. IT is 38 inches in length. Vintage Ornate Roman Catholic Fiddleback Chasuble Priest Vestment Made in Paris. The chasuble is embroidered in multicolored thread on a beautiful emerald green background. The robe measures in the back from the neck 39 3/8” and from the shoulder 43 5/8” long. It is 26” wide. The cross on the back is 39" x 22" x 8" It is composed of sheaves of wheat. Grape clusters, grape leaves and swirls and banded in a 1” wide ribbon. The front of the vestment from the neck measures 28” and from the shoulder 32 ¼” long. It is 23” wide tapering down to 14” wide. The front has the same embroidered designs as the back. The outside of the chasuble is a patterned emerald green, probably cotton, and the inside is a plain lighter green cotton. It is in very good condition. Antique Gold Roman Chasuble Fiddleback Vestment for Catholic Priest, Clergy
Gold Colored Roman Chasuble/Fiddleback Vestment for Low Mass This beautiful Chasuble is in very good antique condition. It has been recently refurbished and can once again be employed for Divine Worship. This particular vestment was originally made in France and is very substantial and heavy. Although I am not certain of the material. It reminds me of cloth of gold and feels almost metallic. The Chasuble. Maniple, and stole have been completely relined with red satin fabric. There are no rips or tears in the shell of the chasuble although there is some faint spots of mild discoloration. The chalice veil and burse were constructed from a dalmatic that was beyond repair, which is why there is a unique pattern formed with the galloons. I should note that the burse cannot be opened. All pains have been taken to salvage the beautiful lamb on the ... moreback of the vestment. Some of the metal parts of the lamb's legs were lost to time and have been replaced with thread. New longer strings were added to the inside front of the chasuble that help to secure the vestment to the waist of the priest. This set includes: Chasuble. Stole, Maniple, Burse, Chalice Veil. The dimensions of the chasuble is approximately: Back: 39" from shoulder to hem; 25" across. Front: 34.5" from shoulder to hem; 22" across at widest point. This is a vintage. Authentic Episcopal Priest long black cassock. Made by the R.J. Toomey Co.Made in USA. 65% Dacron Polyester/35% Cotton-Summer Time Cassock No size found. But from the way it fits me it would be a large. 60" long down the back Sleeve length from the shoulder is 25"with a 9" angled cuff. 21" across the waist 23" armpit to armpit Has two 9 1/2" open arm slits in the side seams Nice large pleat from the waist down in the back. Closes with a partial wrap around. Closes at the neck with velcro. Closes in the front with 2 velcro closures. There are 2 small holes in the chest area(cigarette burns? but both are hidden when the front flap is closed. Fabric in the neck area is worn some. Armpits are some faded. No belt-don't know if there is supposed to be one or not. A pin here and there down the ... morefront would help to keep it closed. Came from an estate sale where the guy had a church in one of his out buildings-weird. I believe it was Episcopal. Cassock was stored in a zippered garment bag-clean no smells. Wear as intended. Antique Green Chasuble and Stole for Catholic Priest, Clergy Vestment for Mass
Beautiful Antique Green Chasuble and Stole for Mass This is an antique green chasuble and stole set for the celebration of the Mass. It is in good condition with very little wear. The material is of a kelly green that is much more Roman than the darker forest green color that is often produced today. The back is embroidered with a cross that is composed of flowers with the iconic IHS in the center. The front is a simple pillar composed in the same theme as the back. There are two strings that are used to secure the vestment around the waist of the priest. The matching stole is in very good condition and its adorned with metallic fringe on the bottom. It has a sewn cloth around the neck to absorb any sweat that may damage the material. The only sign of age and wear is found on the front between the embroidered part of the vestment. The cloth ... moreis slightly distressed and is beginning to fray. This can be seen in the photos 6& 7 provided above. Aside from this. The lining is in excellent condition for its age. Alb Vestment for Priest or Minister This is a very nice alb. It is used. But in great condition. It is an Abbey brand Size Large. It has velcro that hold it at the neck and halfway down the front. The velcro cannot be seen when it is closed. The length of the vestment form the bottom of the front neck to the bottom of the hem is 4 feet 9 inches. The length of the top from shoulder to shoulder is 20 inches and the sleeve length from the shoulder to the end is 24 inches. a very nice alb and in great condition. Beautiful antique priest's cloak by the John P. Daleiden Co. of Chicago. It is Rose(HOT PINK) in color and has gold embroidered trim and gold tassel trim. I believe that the material is silk jacquard. The condition is very good with the exception of some fraying of the material around the embellished metal closure and I noticed a few of the gold corded tassels were frayed. this is a gorgeous colored catholic vestment. Deep salmon color with red ribbon and gold embroidery. There are two small flaws +please see photos+ the first is 2 small holes on top piece of fabric.But hardly noticeable because lining piece is intact. The second is some smudge marks on lower back near hem(I think these can be washed out but I didn't want to mess with it) garment measures 43" inches from back if neck to lower hem and is made from a rayon/ poly material with a sheen. This garment was previously worn and used by a world traveled priest who originated from Vietnam.
