Offered for bids is a late 19th century gilt blessing Monstrance or Reliquary with great patina consistent with age and use. What makes this Monstrance unique is that it still has its True Cross Relic inside of it. The back side of the Monstrance containing the relic can be removed by twisting for blessing or imposition of the relic for healing. The Monstrance has some loss of the gilding as seen in the pics and one small screw is also missing on the bottom of the relic holder ... morewhich does not detract from this rare item. The relic is original to the Monstrance as seen on the custom padded mounting. The Blessing Monstrance measures 7 inches in height and 2.75 inches wide. The removable blessing relic holder measured 1 5/8 inches in diameter. The relic theca identified as Ex Ligno S Crucis measures a bit under 1 inch long. The relic has inside a small aged paper cross with two small splinters of wood in cruciform placement in its cross center. Both the wax seal and the threads are intact. There are 4 Saint relics in each carved wood Church. Each Church measures about 8" x 20" They both have the red wax Bishop seal on the back. The Church on the right does have a document with it in Latin dated 1910. Pretty much the COA from a Cardinal. Both Churches have some wear, the one on the right is missing a piece on the top center. One door is also loose on the one on the right. Both have 4 Relics each and each have 2 that are in place and 2 have fell to the bottom but are there. This beautiful. Unusual and very rare second-class relic of Saint Therese Couderc was obtained at an estate sale of a wealthy French Catholic lady in Westchester, New York. It is a framed picture of the Saint and below is a piece of her clothing and a different smaller picture, very beautiful reliquary to house a relic of this wonderful Saint. The frame itself is a very inexpensive plastic type but displays the relic well, it measures 11 x 14 inches, a truly rare find.

On auction is the reliquary; the relic. Is a gift that will accompany the reliquary. This reliquary was part of the estate of Bishop Paul Leonard Hagarty. It is 1 inches in diameter and the relic is sealed under glass. This is all the provenance we have; if bidders do not see it in the posted pictures. We do not have it. You will receive what you see in the pictures. Saint Magnus. Earl Magnus Erlendsson of Orkney, sometimes known as Magnus the Martyr, was Earl of Orkney from 1106 to about 1115. He was buried on the spot where he was Matyrd. According to his legend, the rocky area around his grave miraculously became a green field. Later Thora, Magnus' mother asked Haakon allow her to bury him in a Church. Haakon gave his permission and Magnus was then buried at Christchurch at Birsay. There were numerous reports of miraculous happenings ... moreand healings. William the Old. Bishop of Orkney, warned that it was"heresy to go about with such tales" and was then struck blind at his church but subsequently had his sight restored after praying at the grave of Magnus, not long after visiting Norway(and perhaps meeting Earl Rognvald Kolsson) Magnus's nephew. Measuring approximately 19cm x 8cm is this incredibly rare statuette. It is very heavy and looks as though it has been cut off something such as a pole. I would imagine that such a figurine would have been cast. Suggesting more but I am aware that it was most likely commissioned especially by the church and so this may not have been the case. I can not find any evidence of this through internet searches and there are none available currently for purchase. Damage is obvious from the pictures. The item looks to be old and to me and as though the figure held something in his hands. I think that it depicts a pope. The figure stands quite steadily on its base.
