Stunning and rare tessellated bone and brass triangular shaped console table by Maitland Smith or Karl Springer for Design Institute Of America circa 1986. The console table is very impressive in person and is very well made. The clear lacquer finish shows some cracking here and there and could stand to be refinished but all in all it's an amazing piece and would make a fine addition to any home with similar period decor. This is a fabulous vintage 60s glass top coffee table attributed to designer Karl Springer. This table has a glass top with a 3/4" bevel which sits on a bright gold brass z shaped base. The base has little suction cups at each corner to hold the glass in place. It also has adjustable feet on the underside to level the table. The table measures 16-3/4" tall and it is 37-3/4" wide. It is in excellent condition. On close inspection the brass base shows some vintage scuffing and there are a few scratches on the glass top but nothing outstanding and it shows no abuse. Vintage Karl Springer Style Coffee Table Vintage Karl Springer style Glass and Aluminum cylinder coffee table. This by far is the largest coffee table that I have ever had. Measuring 61" square. The glass is 3/4" thick and is massive. The visiable area of the glass is in excellent condition, there are two corners that have small chips but they are way inside the columns and not visible while in use. The columns are made from polished aluminum and are in good vintage condition showing normal wear. If desired, you could polish these cylinders up to a mirror finish. Tessellated Bone Console Table In The Manner of Karl Springer Maitland Smith
Stunning tessellated console in the manner of Karl Springer. Gorgeous ivory colored and heavily lacquered bone top. With thick 3/4" glass legs, which are held together by two large brass discs on both sides. I am not sure if the bone is real or faux, but it looks great.The discs unscrew, so the legs can come off easily, making transportation much easier. The glass legs are near mint. The brass discs have a rich, warm patina, but could be polished if desired. The body of the console is in excellent condition, with only very faint hairline marks in the lacquer finish that are only faintly visible in a certain light. There is one little ding that measures 1/4" in the front center, slightly right. Due to the tessellated nature, it is not immediately noticeable. Overall, this console looks pretty close to new.
