St. Mark's Catholic Church Plate Kansas No 155 of 750 This is a beautiful Limited Edition St. Marks Church Porcelain Collectors Plate#155 of 750 and made by Jody's Porcelain. Inc. in Goddard, Kansas. Plate is white with gold trim and colored picture on front. No Chips/Cracks or Crazing and in excellent to near mint condition. Plate measures 10 1/4" in diameter. Front of plate reads: St. Mark's Church on top with picture of church in center and St. Mark. Kansas 1875- 2000. Back of plate reads: No. 155 of 750 In 1872. The first Catholics settled in the St. Mark area. A small frame church was built in 1875. A second church was built in 1885 and in 1887 fire destroyed much of the town. Construction of the present church was begun in 1903 and completed in 1906. Much of the material for the new church came from a defunct Wichita ... morewatch factory that was purchased by the diocese in 1900. St. Mark's parishioners donated much of the labor on the construction. But skilled laborers were hired for woodworking, laying the stone, and all the finished work inside. The total cost of the church was $35,000. In 1982 the roof and the steeple of the church were refurbished in copper and the interior redecorated. The organ was rebuilt in 1985. I wasn't able to get a picture of the back, so I'll quote it here: The First Baptist Church. was recognized by council on December 27. 1803, the services being held in a barn on Salem Street. The first Meeting House was erected in 1804 upon the present Salem St. cemetery grounds. On June 14, 1818, the first Sunday School was organized. In 1843 a wooden building was erected on the present site at the corner of Main and Salem Streets and was destroyed by fire in 1855. The next year the second church on this site was dedicated. This building burned in 1862. The last wooden structure was erected in 1864. In 1889 it was moved to make room for a stone edifice which was ... morecompleted in 1891. This is a vintage collectible plate which says the following on the front: Christ Church in Philadelphia. Founded 1695” It shows the lovely stone church on a corner lot with raised flag and majestic steeple along with various trees. I found no chips or cracks on it. The close-up picture is merely to show the grapes, grape leaf design and other fruit around the border. On the back. It has the following: Eggshell Theme Homer Laughlin Made in USA A 49 N5. This is a vintage collectible church plate depicting the Nelson Presbyterian Church on 6500 Natural Bridge. St. Louis County, Missouri. Plate has a gold rim or edging. Most of which is still intact. It also has a raised pattern around the border of grapes and grape leaves. Tendrils, etc. The church itself is in a burgundy red as are the clouds and the printing. It might have been made mid century. Plate is 9 ¼” in diameter and in excellent shape; I found no damage to it. On the back. It has in green“Theme Homer Laughlin USA and“J56N5” also in green. Also back there is the WORLD WIDE Art Studios name and logo. A Division of Atlas Crystal Works, Inc. Covington, Tennessee. The history of the church is back there as well: Nelson Presby. Church was organized by sixty charter members on Nov. 5. 1909. A Sunday School had been started during ... moreJan. 1907. It later became known as Kenwood Springs Sunday School. The first church bldg. was of concrete block construction. And the first service was held on Nov. 1, 1910. The newer rock church at 6500 Natural Bridge was named in honor of Lewis Cass Nelson. Who donated the ground. It was dedicated on Oct. 30. 1932. First service in the present new sanctuary was held on March 3, 1957, with dedication week, April 30 to May 5, 1957. Rev. W. This is a 10 ¼” diameter commemorative church plate made by Kettlesprings Kilns of Alliance. Ohio. It is numbered 3367-S. It is from the Hope Lutheran church in Cherryville. Pennsylvania. Plate has an off-white background with blue drawing and writing with the church in the center. It is in excellent condition. On the back is a brief history. Hope Lutheran Church was a dream started by Rev. Allen Hanson. Two congregations united: St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Indianland and Little Moore Church to become Hope Lutheran Church of Cherryville. Rev. Frederick Fisher completed the dream in 1973 and was its first pastor. Hope Lutheran Church is now served by two full-time pastors: Rev. Catherine A. Ziel and Rev. Roger A. Ristau. This is a vintage plate made by Kettlesprings Kilns out of Alliance. Ohio. It dates from 1976 when the Salem Reformed Church of Spangsville, Pennsylvania, celebrated its 240th anniversary. The plate is white with pictures and printing in black and has a leafed border. It is even signed by the artist. If you look closely, in amongst the grass borders, you will find"Shirley Anestadt. It features the Salem U. C. C. Spangsville Church with trees around it with a banner across the bottom identifying it along with the dates of"1736" and"1976. It is marked“2728S” on the back. It is in excellent condition and measures 10" in diameter. The history of the church is on the back as well: History of Salem Reformed Church. As early as 1712. Reformed People began to settle in the Oley Valley. The first step toward organizing a Reformed ... moreChurch was taken when John Lesher on the 13th of April, 1734, deeded 132 perches of land to Gabriel Boyer and Casper Griesemer"in trust for the society of Christian people holding to the doctrines and tenents of John Calvin. First church 1735 was built of logs. It was formally organized May 4, 1736 by Rev. John Philip Boehm. In 1754, a new church of logs and stone was built, and was surmounted by a weathervane in the form of a rooster. Another church was erected in 1822. Much of the architecture of this church remained after the remodeling in 1901. The Salem United Church of Christ, Oley, RD 1, 1975, shows atmospheric evidence of the church of 1822. There were only 15 pastors in the 240 years including the present, Rev. Norman W. Shollenberger. This is a vintage church plate depicting the Wilfrid United Church of Brock Township. Ontario, Canada. The plate is 8 3/4" in diameter with a scalloped edge with a double gold band(it almost looks like a plate with a slightly smaller plate sitting atop the slightly larger plate) The plate was made in England for the Creemore China& Glass Company out of Ontario. Canada; Creemore decorated the plate. Plate has no nicks or cracks. It has the dates of 1888-1988 on it, so it must've been in commemoration of a centennial. Most of the gold is intact. This item will be carefully packed and insured which is reflected in the S&H amount.

Narrow raised border in white, wider green border with gold design inside of that and off white background for the well of the plate. Church and writing is in red. Writing indicates. Norris Square U. P. Church, Philadelphia, Penna. Organized 1860. Plate is a little under 10” in diameter and is in very good condition. Most of the gold is intact and I found no damage to the plate. The back has the historical data for the church from 1860-1955. I’m guessing the plate is from 1955 or thereabouts. It lists the Pastors for that time frame—Dr. James Crowe. Dr. J. Alvin Orr, Dr. Lee E. Rife, Dr. Raymond L. Edie, Rev. David S. Oyler, and Rev. Herbert J. Hoeflinger. It also lists the history. Naming Rev. James Crowe as a great personality. This is a 10 1/2” diameter commemorative plate. Marking the 100 th Anniversary of the United Presbyterian Church in Pleasanton. California(1876-1976) Plate is off white with gold border around edge and black and grey writing and crisp design of the Church and the shrubbery around it. It is marked. Founded October 15, 1876. The plate looks even more interesting because of the crazing effect on it; you can just barely see it in my picture. I believe that crazing effect was done on purpose since it isn't in small areas but covers the entire face and back of the plate. It might've been done to enhance the look of age. The back gives a brief history of the Church when it was organized in 1876 with 15 charter members and was 28’ x 44’ and cost $2500 including seating. Additions were made; in 1922. Exquisite 8 1/4 inch collector plate celebrates the sesquicentennial of the North Prairie United Methodist Church 1837- 1987 North Prairie United Methodist Church Celebrating 150 Years Through efforts of the circuit rider. Rev. Salmon Stebbins, in 1837 rural residents gathered to form a congregation. Eventually this group separated to form three churches, one of which was North Prairie United Methodist Church built in 1870. I have a 10" plate for sale. It is the 50th Anniversary plate for The First Christian Church of North Kansas City Missouri. 1923 thru 1973. The back of the plate says; The First Christian Church of North Kansas City was organized on May 10.1923, by R. B. Havener, with 45 charter members. Services were held in the old Commercial Building, while a basement church was being build at 21st& Gentry Streets, which was dedicated May 4, 1924.The original sanctuary, a brick structure, was completed and dedicated February 19, 1928. In the 1950's an educational structure was added, under Rev. L.C. Snodgrass. The new sanctuary and educational unit were dedicated November 17, 1967, while Rev. Don Albright was minister. The present membership is 609, and Rev. John D. McInnis has been the minister since March, 1969.
