Thick, rugged, and heavy, this piece has an ovoid shape with a wide midsection. ... moreIt has a gorgeous blend of colors including mustard, brown, and greens. The glaze& oxides were somehow applied in a manner where it didn't adhear in certain places and other parts were not glazed at all, including the bottom. In other areas the glaze is drizzled or running downward. When fired, interesting characteristics were created including mottling and a speckled effect. The unglazed red portions have an original, grungy patina that's the result of past use, places it was kept, and the passage of time. Oddly enough. There's some sort of slip decoration on the front, under the spout, that is difficult to discern. It probably was a name or some sort of writing and part of a date where a mistake was made and the entire piece was glazed over in this unique manner to cover it up. It looks like a capital letter C with a last name under it, followed by 1874 or 1879, perhaps. The way the piece was glazed as well as wear and tear makes it very difficult to make out. In fact, we didn't really notice the writing until after viewing one of the photos while posting this auction. It's an interesting peak into the history of this old pitcher and perhaps if you are skilled, you may be able to determine what it says under that glaze. Regardless. This is a very attractive piece of pottery that also has decorative incised bands, an applied handle, a charming country-style shape, and of course its very nice coloring. It measures 10 1/4 inches high while the diameter of the bottom is 4 1/8 inches. The opening of the pitcher is 5 1/4 inches including the spout and the widest point in the middle is 7 1/2 inches. It weighs over 4 pounds. We found no cracks or hairlines, only some old pitting on the interior that isn't structurally significant. There is surface wear and loss of glaze but nothing that detracts from its beauty. This piece is still even

Large Antique Hand Painted Ewer Pitcher Gold Edged Signed P.K. 1900 17" x 8"
This is a beautiful handpainted antique ewer or pitcher. It is large in size and stands 17" high and it is 8" wide. Weighing just under 4lbs. The only markings are a handpainted signiture on the lower"cupid" side which reads"P.K. 1900. I am unsure if that is a date, but going by appearance this vase could very well be that old. The handle and base are painted in gold paint and the edges of the scenes are done in a raised gold border. One side depicts a cupid on a chariot of doves, and the other side depicts a man ad women in fancy old-fashioned costumes. The rest of the vase is painted a sky blue. It is in good antique condition with subtle fading and slight paint loss throughout. There are two more noteable chips on the base which someone has painted over(one blue and one gold) please see the pictures. Still a very ... morelovely and presentable vase. 8" Antique Glazed Stoneware Pitcher-Star Stoneware, Crooksville, OH-c 1910
Offered is this antique dark brown glazed stoneware pitcher. It features a basketweave or waffle design all the way around with a zig-zag line around the top and bottom and two large bunches of grapes. One on either side. The bottom is marked with an impressed star. My Internet research finds that this was the mark of the Star Stoneware Co. of Crooksville. Ohio. In business from 1892 to 1945. What I have read indicates this particular mark was used during the 1900-1910 period. The pitcher is 8” high and about 5 1/2” across at its widest point near the bottom. It is in very good condition. There are no cracks or scratches. There are three or four very small spots where the glazing is missing. I’m not sure if they are chips or places that were never glazed in the first place. Gold trim shows slight wear around top rim. Noticed some very light crazing under bright light(i.e. camera flash) but otherwise not visible. Hi. Up for bid is this beautiful flowered pitcher, could be Transferware.I did alot of research on this and I came up with: It was made by W.A.A. Co. This stands for William Alsager Adderley& Co. Trade Mark England, Azalea Groups. I believe it was made around 1850-1899. This looks to be made of Porcelain or Ceramic. It has flowers around the sides with gold color on the handle, around the top rim and around the base rim. Marked on bottom: Royal, Adderley, 3627. High Quality Antique Copper Lustre Pitcher Made in Staffordshire. England c.1850's Charming Very Large Copper Luster water pitcher/jug. With applied white sprigging on a blue background. Depicts scenes of cupids riding a chariot and on the other side. A cupid about to release his arrow, cupids flying and carrying torches, some musical instruments. Sprigging is good. On a par with Adams or old Sadler- I could not find these scenes in any of the Wedgwood catalogs. 6 7/8" tall x just over 9 1/2" from spout to handle. There is no backstamp(pre 1891) Condition is excellent. No damages. No chips or cracks, no flakes, no crazing. Some of the cupids(sprigging) have a few tiny flakes of glaze loss. This is a vintage glass Pitcher that has been painted. You can feel the raised paint on the glass. It is 8 1/2" tall. 8 1/2" wide and in very good condition with a little of the color worn off. This vintage or antique pitcher is generally dark-brown with a white rim. But areas on both sides of the handle are tan in color and look as if they were never completely glazed. It features a swirl design. With fruit within an oval area on each side. It stands about 8" high and is about 7 1/2" across at its widest. The pitcher is in very good condition. I see no cracks and only a couple of very small shallow chips. 8" Vintage or Antique "Basketweave" Pitcher-Light Blue-Gray-Flowers
This vintage or antique pitcher is an unusual color of light blue-gray. Almost as if a thin gray glaze has been put on over blue, hard to capture properly on camera. It features a basketweave design. With a large flower within an oval area on each side and small flowers around the rim and base. It stands about 8" high and is about 7" across at its widest. Unfortunately this piece has several spots of damage. There are three different hairline cracks that are several inches long extending down from the top rim. Two are barely visible but one of them leads to some additional cracking at the rim. With a tiny chunk of material missing(see last photo) There is also a small area with a light brown color near the handle which would not wash off and a couple of spots with short grooves in the glazing that look as if they were there when ... moremade. This earthenware stoneware early American salt glazed pitcher is in very good condition for a piece of its age. There are some surface crackling which is to be expected in a piece of this age. I don't know if I found of these without of crackling if I could believe it was real. I have one of my grandparents which is in much worse condition than this one. But it is a family heirloom, so I would never sale it. This piece came from an estate sale and it may have been in use. I am of the belief us keep these from crackling so much since the moisture of use in good for stoneware. Mine is on display on top of a Hoosier Cabinet and it has become more damaged. This pitcher is 8 inches tall and is 5 1/2 inches in diameter. It will come to you well packed and postage paid. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Offering this very cool old antique pitcher which I believe to be Czechoslovakian. It has a hand painted blue and black stencil design and is marked 1811 and what appears to be a stamped 7 petal flower. Based on my research. I believe this to be an original Sleepy Eye pitcher. It has two chips on one side of the lip but still displays nicely. Measures approx 8 3/4" tall at the spout and the bottom diameter is about 6 5/8" across. Age crazing and some discoloration are present. Pitcher is very heavy at over 4 lbs 10 oz without any packing.
