It has an applied strap handle, the spout is small and pulled, and the body has a bulbous shape. The outside top was decorated with a deep green drip glaze, which covers part of the handle as well. Measures 3 3/4" high to the top of the strap handle, and is 3" wide across the bulbous body. Unmarked on the base-dates to around 1900. Condition is extremely good with no cracks. Chips or repairs. There is all-over age crazing on the piece. The strap handle is a little off to one side. There are some tiny glaze pops and skips at the top and on the handle. Here is a sweet pottery pitcher. 2.5" high, 3" diameter at widest part. I just discovered inside, a very old, folded, handwritten piece of paper, that I mounted on archival paper with archival photo mount tape, that reads: Made from the clay found around the Rushmore Memorial at Keystone, South Dakota. It is believed this pitcher is very old. This pitcher is in pristine condition, no chips or signs of wear.

Antique Redware Miniature Manganese Glazed Pitcher Possibly Jacob Medinger For your Antique Redware Collection Details Description: Antique manganese and lead glazed redware miniature pitcher. This 19th century miniature has a beautiful classic shape and a greenish-brown glaze reminiscent of the glazes Jacob Medinger was famous for. The pitcher has a flat base rising to a neck in a bulbous shape. At the neck the sides flare out to a plain rim having a spout. The pitcher has a nice applied handle. The Pitcher has several lightly incised lines at the shoulder below the neck as decoration. It is glazed with a greenish-brown colored background having the dark brown splotches associated with manganese glazing. A very nice shape and rare color. Please review the photos as they are part and parcel of the description. Date: Late 1800s. Origin: Southeastern ... morePennsylvania Size: Measures 2 3/16" diameter at the base. 3 7/8" high, and is 3 5/8" at its widest including the handle and the spout. Maker: Uncertain the piece was purchased from a collector who suggested it is by Jacob Medinger. Which to us is consistent with the appearance of the piece. Marks: Unmarked. Distinguishing Characteristics- Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a very well made and very nice antique miniature. Condition: Super condition giving its age with no cracks. Repairs, or hairlines. It does have general fine crazing, which gives this pitcher a beautiful character and makes great to display. It also has two chips to the edge of the base, some shallow chips and glaze loss at the spout, and some spots where the glaze is lost resulting in general roughness at the rim. Finally, the piece has a black inclusion which is original to the piece and does not compromise its quality or condition. All of these issues can be seen in the photos. The outside near the top was decorated with a deep green drip glaze. Which covers part of the handle as well. Measures 3 3/4" high to the top of the handle, and is 3" wide across the bulbous body. Unmarked on the base as to the maker. Extremely good condition with no cracks. Chips or repairs. There is all-over age crazing on the piece. The strap handle is a little off to one side.
