Antique Cobalt Stoneware Side Spout Pitcher SPONGEWARE Blue
A side spout pitcher with beautiful blue floral design on it. There is a small chip inside the spout. At the base of the pitcher there is a tiny pit mark in the glaze that does not go through. It measures 6 3/4" high. The top opening is 4" and the base is 4 5/8" We do not know anything about this. But it looks nice and is unique. This 1 gallon stoneware pitcher measures 9" high and has an ovoid body with seperately applied strap handle and has a nice hand decorated cobalt blue band added for accent in the center. Even though this pitcher is unmarked. One knowledgable collector believed it was made at Sherwood Brothers Potters out of New Brighton, Pennsylvania. There is a few hairline cracks on main body(some are surface age crazing that don't go all the way through and some do go to the inside but structurally the pitcher is sound) Other than the hairlines mentioned. There is no maker's mark on either. Although the larger pitcher has 477 written on the base. These both are decorated in a dazzling motif of brilliant copper colored luster and warm cobalt blue. The small pitcher is also decorated with copper leaves or flowers. The larger pitcher has a raised and enameled scene of what appears to be a man and woman having a picnic. Although the two don't appear to be the same pattern. Their coloring is very similar, and they do work well next to one another. Both are in fantastic condition. This is a very pretty Austrian ewer or pitcher. It has a cobalt blue spout. Handle and foot. It features hand painted wild flowers on the front. The pitcher is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is some slight soiling and enamel loss. The ewer stands 13 1/8 inches tall. It is marked on the bottom with a crown over a flower that has the initials B? under that it reads Made in Austria, there is an incised 6405. as well. We date this pitcher to the early 20th century.

The piece on the left is cobalt blue and nicely decorated with figures. Fruitful grapevines, etc. The pitcher has a glazed interior, making it perfect for cream or milk, or even as a vase. It is marked on the underside for Wedgwood and England. This piece was made in the period between 1890-1910. The piece on the right is a dark cobalt blue. The decorations are the same as the older pitcher. But on a slightly different scale. They are positioned differently from the design of the other pitcher. Our photographs below make this apparent. The pitcher has a glazed interior and is suitable for liquids. It is marked for Wedgwood and says Made in England. Hi.This is a beautiful set of a small pitcher and basin.Its been in my mother in laws home for many years.She always had it on display in her bathroom with a plant in it.It is white in color with a beautiful cobalt blue scenery painted all around it as shown. Its not one of those huge ones.The pitcher measures 5 inches tall.6& 1/2 inches across with the handle and 4& 1/2 inches from side to side without the handle.The basin or bowl it stands in measures 8 inches across with the handles and 6& 1/2 inches without the handles. VINTAGE ANTIQUE POTTERY PITCHER COBALT BLUE WITH PINK FLOWERS
This is a really old pottery pitcher. It is cobalt blue with a raised floral design of pink flowers and green leaves. It does have two repairs(the white spots) which you can see in the pictures. One is near the spout and the other is on the side at the top. I have never seen a repair like this and it is done very well. The repair just needs some paint in matching colors. The pitcher does have a lot of crazing. The pitcher is 7-1/4" high and is 7-1/2 from end of spout to end of wide handle. The bottom is marked with a colbalt blue paint mark which I cannot decipher and there is also a raised rectangular spot that has faint writing that I can't make out. I would think there is some value in this pitcher to go to all the trouble to do the repairs that someone has meticulously done.

From my antiques collection I am offering this gorgeous Semi-Vitreous Cobalt Blue milk pitcher in the Geranium pattern made by the Buffalo Pottery Company of the US in circa 1900. The pattern is Geraniums. This pitcher came from a Pennsylvania home. Condition Report: Excellent. Notes: The pitcher is 7 1/2" from handle to spout. 6" wide and 6" tall. What a beautiful piece for a flow blue/ floral or just cobalt blue collection or blue color scheme. One actual factory type flaw on side, see all pics, it is actually a bit of ceramic on surface. I am not messing with that in any way! Buffalo Pottery was named for it's city of origin. Buffalo, New York. It was established in 1901 by the Larkin Soap Company. The pottery was originally conceived to produce a marketing line for Larkin that would increase ... moretheir soap sales, in addition to other items including furniture. The Buffalo Pottery prospered and produced many different kinds of pottery for commercial use as well as art pottery. This beautiful chintz transfer was named the"Geranium" pattern and could be purchased with soap wrappers and a small additional charge from the Larkin Soap Catalog from 1905 to 1910. The all-over cobalt blue and white decorations on this jug/pitcher consists of geraniums and their leaves. The piece was also made with multicolor decoration. Marked on the bottom is"Semi-Vitreous- Buffalo Pottery- warranted underglaze" and the geranium leaf design. I also own a larkin ladies desk that I purchased in NY in the early 1980's that was purchased originally the same way-the lady traded in her soap labels and purchased the beautiful oak desk that sits in my guest bedroom today. ANTIQUE SALT GLAZE PITCHER W/ COBALT BLUE ROSES Fountain Elms #18 Utica NY
In this listing we are offering a very old piece of salt glaze pottery from the Fountain Elms Co. Utica Ny. This is very, very early 1900's. The pitcher is textured in a grayish colored glaze embossed with cobalt blue roses showing stems and leaves. There is no damage in the piece but it shows age like rusting from the clay pottery on handle. There is a gouge type flaw that I show in the last photo. This is original to the making of the piece. I am sure it was done in the firing as it shows a split in the glaze and you can tell something either did it in firing or the glaze wasn't applied in this area. NO CRACKS! 1891 Nippon 5" Pitcher Cobalt Blue Gold Beading Mark Hand Painted
Up for sale today are vintage pieces of art pottery from different makers. Most are from the late 1800's. This is a 5" Pitcher from Nippon, blue back-stamp, circa 1891-1911. It has a beautiful floral design with heavy gold beading, I'm not sure if this is an overlay or Moriage decoration. Inside you can see the artist hand grooves as they shaped this piece. It does have some gold loss on the design that was on handle. It measures approximately 5" tall in center with a width of 4 1/4" across bottom. There are no cracks,breaks or chips.

Antique 1900-1940 Cobalt Blue Apple Cider/Lemonade Pitcher
Antique apple cider/lemonade pitcher from the 1900s. By Nippon, handpainted. It comes with one(1) cup. It is in a great condition: no chips, scratches or cracks. There is a flaw: a tiny dark brown dot inside the spout, which occured during the firing in the kiln, because of the speck of sand in the clay. That is a common thing in the porcelan/ceramic items from that era. It still occurs today, of course. It is under the glaze and cannot be removed. Also, there is some loss of gold on the handle. Overall, great condition for the item that is this old. It is 6 1/4" tall, and 8" from the tip of the spout to the end of the handle. It is 7" at the belly and 5 1/2" across the opening, not including the spout.

Outstanding and quite rare. Ca1880's, Cobalt Blue decorated, Gray Salt Glazed Stoneware Beer Pitcher with a molded relief bust of George Washington by N. A. White& Son of Utica, New York(Whites Utica) Our best guess is that the Pitcher was produced to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the inauguration of George Washington as the nations first president. This fantastic. 3 liter, blue decorated Gray Salt Glazed Stoneware Pitcher measures approx. 11” tall and 7” in diameter at the center of its bulbous form. The surface in intricately decorated with small dots that surround a bust portrait of George Washington on one side and a portrait of another person on the other. I believe this is called the Bulldog pattern Pitcher as there are also cobalt decorated, relief bulldog heads on each side of the Pitcher at the top. The handle of the ... morePitcher is molded in the shape of a sea serpent. The word"Prosit" is found under the spout of the Pitcher- this is an expression used as a toast when drinking to a person's health- hence the indication that this is a Beer Pitcher. We have found other catalogers who have identified the other person depicted on this Pitcher as Abraham Lincoln but there is NO DOUBT that it is NOT Lincoln- it may be just a generic Tavern Patron but the fact that George Washington is on the opposite side. Leads us to believe that some specific person is being represented. Any help with identifying this person would be greatly appreciated. We have found numerous references that identify this Pitcher as having been manufactured by Whites Utica but it is unmarked and we can not be 100% certain.
