The actual slats that are supports on each side are pictured separately as seen in two photos. they stand 87" tall x 10.25" wide) The one side is cracked and needs to be glued and reinforced back together if you are planning on using them again. This grand arch once graced a fine estate during the late Victorian era. It favors a large central medallion type crest. Acanthus leaf with leaf and rose carved swags that are divided by bow ties. This huge piece was a focal point of a double parlor room as it separated the opening between the rooms. Very large and very heavy. Some damage is seen with minor losses to applied trim and rose blossoms. There is also fine white paint splatter, loss to a bow and an old age crack down the crest. The thickness on this piece is almost 4" Stunning and fabulous my dear. Belongs in an antebellum mansion like the one it came from. Wear is consistent with age. Well worth the price. All components work as they should and this a great looking. Wonderful piece! The interior is backed with original beadboard, the original hardware is still intact(one of the drawer pulls is missing and one of the hinges has been changed) and all doors and drawers operate properly. The top two left drawers are false fronts for tall storage underneath. The right side has some damage at the base on the leg. But the cabinet is structurally sound and complete. Black Vintage Wrought Iron Birdcage Approx 30" tall including hanging hook. 26.5" tall without hook. Cage measures 8" round& 11 3/4" with scrolls. We've loved this piece and had a plant in it mostly. Cage was sprayed once with an anti-rust treatment to prevent more pitting(see pic) It's been kept indoors to better preserve it since it had signs of age: top mesh needs to be soldered down on one side- one scroll leans to the left about 1 cm- cage door needs to be reattached(broke off taking pictures) A beautiful piece considering its age- it's really for a collector who knows what they're buying! Wow! So I think these are so pretty. Unique and different but I am not 100% sure what they were originally used for. I have asked a few antique dealers and one man told me that many years ago they hung outside of the old buildings in the French Quarters of New Orleans, and valued them between $100.00-$150.00 for the pair. He said they were used as planters for climbing plants that would attach themselves to the walls and climb. Please if anyone knows them to be something other than that please let me know. They would be wonderful used for that purpose hung in your cottage, Victorian, Shabby Chic Style or any style garden. I think they would be great used outdoors or indoors to hold big chunky candles as well. For sure they would make a great conversation item. The auction is for the pair. They are very ornate, the bowl part looks to be covered ... morein lots of little roses with scrolls throughout. The back plate is also very ornate with what appears to be leaves and other ornate designs. There is two holes to attach the back plate, I do not have the screws to attach, however any ordinary household screws you have will work. I looked these over really well, I do not see any broken pieces, cracks or missing pieces. Please understand these are vintage and therefore no vintage item will ever be perfect although these look perfectly intact to me. Antique Victorian Oak Stair & Hall Railing Spindles Trim Carved Style Ornate
LOCAL PICKUP ONLY This stair and rail system is one of the most unique and striking examples of victorian wood working I have ever seen! All original. Taken from a large farm house built in the mid 1800's. Made of Oak, it has an original light coat of varnish remaining. It consists of three sections; The back hall; the side hall; and the stairs. The back hall has a rail that measures 45 1/2 inches long. The spindles measure 28 1/2 inches tall and are attached by means of pins, holes, and grooves, there were almost no nails used. The side hall rail measures 9 ft 5 inches, has 11 spindles spaced apart 10 inches on center. The post that connects the side and back rails measures 39 1/2 inches tall. The stair rail measures 14 ft 6 inches long with 14 spindles measuring 26 inches tall.All the pieces are pegged and slotted to fit perfectly into ... moreeach other. The oak rail measures 3 3/4th inches tall and is 2 1/4th inches wide with a groove at the bottom to accept the spindles. The posts have some damage and need to be worked on. There are a few trim pieces for below the stair treads that could be used as patterns, I have not cleaned or altered this item and am selling in the original as found condition. Heavily Carved Pair Victorian Style Wood Leg Components
Each of these fine carved wooden legs measure 15" x 6" x 2-1/2" One of the legs has had a repair. The repair was glued and is sound and strong. Antique Victorian dark wood( Mahogany I think) Eastlake wood corner shelf measuring 12" tall x 7 3/4" shelf. Very nice condition. No breakage, gentle wear/minor nicks. It does not have any hangers on the back for hanging so you would have to add these or use the nail hole on inside corner.
