Pictured here is a beautiful old First Class relic of Saint John Bosco- it is encased inside a small silver pendant with a decorative frame. There is a loop at the top of the piece. Under the convex plastic covering reveals the beautiful relic. It reads Ex Joannes Bosco. We have not attempted to open this as there may be a wax seal from the Vatican inside. This listing is for a religious medal depicting St Francis on one side with the text“Francisce Xaveri ora pro nobis” The other side shows Ignatius Loyola with the text“S. Ignati de Loyola ora pro nobis” The text“Ora pro nobis” is the Latin for“pray for us” The saints are depicted in quite high relief for a medal of this size. The medal has wonderful wear and patina. As if someone has held and rubbed it over many, many years. The areas that were higher(like the saints' noses) have been rubbed almost flat. The loop on top has crossed over itself slightly, but the ends are not sharp and there is no gap so it can still be worn securely on a chain. It appears to be bronze.
