Porcelain with some crazing and"darkening" particulary around the spout. 2 chips(one very small) on the back side of the foot of the pitcher. Neither distract from the loveliness of the piece in my opinion. Shabby Lovely! Cottage Chic! 7" tall X 7" wide at the"belly" of the pitcher. Some paint wear. Antique Vintage Primitive 2 Tone Salt Glaze Stoneware Jug/Lamp Hand Painted
This is a wonderful old brown top salt glazed whiskey jug measuring approximately 11 inches tall and a diameter of approximately 7 inches. The jug has no cracks but does have a few chips. 4 around the ledge of the jug, 2 of which are not that noticeable because they are located almost right on the ledge and blend in very well. The other two are just below the ledge(see picture 3) This jug also has a small hole drilled at the bottom of the back side for an electric cord(see picture 3) to be used as a lamp. The front side of the jug has an hand painted apple motif. Some of the paint has rubbed off but again does not in any way take away from the beauty of this jug and in fact would be expected for the age. The handle is perfect and the jug has had no repairs. There are some manufacturers defects(see picture 4) the most apparent which looks ... morelike a dent. I think it enhances the charm of this old jug. A beautiful jug for any collector or for decorative purposes.

This jug came from my in-laws house in upstate NY. My husband is 50 and he said it was always there. I be lieve it is stoneware with a salt glaze finish. But I a m NO expert. I can onl y describe it as best as I can. It is being sold AS IS. It has no markings of any kind that I can find. It is approx. 9.5 inche s tall and 5& 1/2 inches in diameter at the base. This listing is for: a salt glaze jug manufactured by the Macomb Pottery Company of Macomb. Ill. They were in business from 1882-1941 so this is a very old piece. This jug is in fair condition. It's quite worn and shows it's age. There are many scrat ches. Chips and some areas where the glaze has come off and is missing(created small holes in the top glaze) The bottom has quite a lot of scratches and chipping. The name is very difficult to read but visible in the right li ghting. There is a crack going up the side of the ju g but doesn't affect it's structure. Antique / Vintage Guernesey Jug/Creamer
This silver tone antique jug is pretty primitive. Some versions of the Guernesey coins similar to the one affixed to the jug date back to the 1800s. It measures about 5 1/2" top of lid to bottom. The lid is slightly misshapen but just imagine where this jug has been! I've included a picture of the inside which has some residue of whatever the jug held last. I have looked it over really well, I cannot see any chips, no cracks, no hairline fractures, nothing, this appears perfect, other than the felt on the bottom is a bit worn, that's it! Unusual Antique or Vintage Stoneware Jug With Rope Netting And Wooden Tag
Here is a an old( I do not know the age) rope netted stoneware mug with a hidden blue design under one side of the cover. I cannot make out the design or the possible word over it. Perhaps a manufacturer name. The netting is tight and cannot be pushed over to see it. It has some tears and stains and no cap but I had never seen one like this and thought it was a great decorative object. I know nothing about jugs and bought this in Asheville. NC a while back and used it for a nautical decor display. It is approximately 8 1/2" high and the bottom circumference is 7" round. A really great unusual decorator piece or for a collector of jugs. The jug has a brown top and then a band of tan coloring and then cream color on the bottom section. It has an applied handle and is estimated to be half gallon size. The crock whiskey jug measures about 10 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is pretty good condition but does have a couple of surface chips in the dark brown area toward the tan colored band. There's also crazing on the bottom and sides of the jug mainly noted in the light colored areas. The jug also has some pin holes that are normally seen on these jugs. Nice old one gallon whiskey shoulder jug from Western Stoneware Co. in Monmouth. IL. It has been used and shows some wear mainly around the bottom. There is a surface crack around the bottom(pic. 4) but the jug doesn't leak. The bottom edge has a couple of chips, see pics. 5-6. There are a couple of spots where the brown shiny glaze wasn't applied uniformly at the factory. I do not have a cork for this jug. Shipping allows for double boxing. ANTIQUE VINTAGE CROCKERY JUG STONEWARE POTTERY TINY BROWN SPECKS ~NICE
This is a great piece of cream toned crockery. I'm downsizing my crocks and jugs which I have had since the 70's and boy this jug was well cared for long before me. It stands 11 inches tall with a base of 7 iches in diameter. It has a very nice sheen. There are some manufacturing blurbs. No cracks and only one man-made tiny chip on the bottom rim.
