Most likely pennsylvania, smaller redware jug has a chip on front of body, handle is in very good condition,some factory roughness around of outside of spout, jug has a very awesome glaze 3/4 of jug has a black like frog spotting. Jug has 2 small chips on bottom, and a couple very tight drying hairlines. Jug has some small drying lines in glaze, I believe surface only, jug is 100% solid. You can feel the small cracks-lines on side. definitely factory) only on one side in 3 areas. Awesome little jug. Measures just under 6 inches high. Larger jug has a darker glaze. In excellent condition, jug has no cracks at all. What looks to be cracks running all over through body, is something done in the making. These can not be felt or seen on the inside. Embossed on the bottom in all upper case lettering is the words: MINNESOTA STONEWARE CO. RED WING(at least that is what I think it says; th mark was mostly erased during manufacturing) The top of the handle is above the spout. But only approximately 1/8 of an inch. A cork is in this jug. This jug has a total height of almost 9 1/2" To the shoulder, is approximately 6" and the bottom is approximately 7 1/4" in diameter. It does hae a few chips at the mouth of the jug. on the back base& bottom pictured. And, the paint on the flower is crackling and delicate(must be handled with care) also pictured. I think this jug is ca. 1890s- 1940s give or take, but I'm not 100% sure? The shoulder of the vessel is domed. The jug's 7 1/2" tall again I think it's a one gallon jug. Great primitive jug with hand applied handle. Reddish brown glaze. Has a bumpy texture. Maybe orange peel or salt glaze finish. Check out the pictures for the two little kiln flaws on the handle. For your consideration is a two gallon bottom marked. Cone top jug made by Minnesota Stoneware Company of Red Wing, Minnesota. This company was founded in 1883 and existed until 1906, when it merged with Red Wing Stoneware and the merged company became known as Red Wing Union Stoneware Company. The glaze on this jug indicates it was manufactured after 1895; the bottom marking indicates it was manufactured before the merger happened in 1906. This stoneware jug has a total height of approximately 13 3/8" from the surface it is setting on, to the shoulder is approximately 8 7/8" and the bottom is approximately 8 7/8" in diameter. For your consideration is a one gallon. Common style jug, made by Minnesota Stoneware Co. of Red Wing, Minnesota. This company existed from 1883 to 1906; in 1906 it merged with Red Wing Stoneware Company to form Red Wing Union Stoneware Company. The embossed writing on the bottom is 1/2 of an inch tall and says: MINNESOTA STONEWARE CO RED WING; however due to sloppiness during manufacturing, some of this writing is indecipherable. The handle was attached by hand and was attached at an angle; this and other manufacturing defects make this jug unique. This jug was touching another piece of stoneware during firing and when the two pieces were separated, the other piece got off with some of this jug's glaze from the handle and side. It weighs in excess of 20-1/2 lbs. unpacked. This jug is free from cracks, but does have a chip on the bottom(pic 4) where it sits, and a small flake in the upper trim(pic 8) which do not affect its beauty or display. The condition is very good– no cracks, no later years chips, on the shoulder edge there is a flaw that is glazed over, probably from manufacturing. There are 2 glaze pops and a couple rough spots. Vintage stoneware advertising jug. Says Hazel Pure Food Co. Chicago-New York. I think this is made by Red Wing. But I'm not certain. There is no makers mark anywhere, and the research info. out there is very skimpy. Measures 10 1/2" high. 7 1/4" diameter. Single handle at the top. 1" diameter at the top. Weighs 6 lbs. 11 oz. Holds 1 gal, or a bit more to the very top. Overall very good condition. No major cracks that I can find. There are a few minor chip. And some crazing, but it is watertight, nothing leaked out when I filled it.

Embossed flowers with white and turquoise dots finish off the motif. Impress marked England with a stamped#386. The lid is also impressed marked- can't read the first word. The second looks like'patent' The end of the lever has a blunt cut- not sure if this was intended or a bit has broken off. It still lifts the lid about an inch when the white button is pushed or goes all the way back if you press harder. Stands 6 5/8" tall x 7" wide including the handle. Large 19th Century Toby Jug, Drip Multicolor Glazed Red Earthenware, Folk Art
Large 19th century red earthenware toby jug. With shiny multi color drip glaze. This old toby pitcher is hand molded and probably one of a kind. It stands 10 1/2 inches(26.7 cm) tall. There is no maker's mark. The interior sides are also glazed. There is overall crazing, some small glaze dings, and a large shallow glaze chip on the base back side(see pictures) We think this wonderful piece has English origins and dates to the 19th century, but could be older. Souvenir Commemorative Red Wing Jug Harding Minnesota
Here is a small commemorative Red Wing jug from Holy Cross Church in Haring Minnesota 1904- 2004. The bottom of the jug is marked 227/300. There is the red wing on one side and the Holy Cross Church on the other. Made by Red Wing Pottery from Red Wing Minnesota. Without the cork in the jug is 6 inches tall. It is 4 1/4 inches across. No chips or cracks.
