Has slight rub marks on copper trim on rim. Measures 4 3/4" tall by 5" wide at base. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. Miniature milk or water jug/pitcher, Georgia Art, brown, applied handle
This miniature pitcher or milk jug was made by and is marked on the bottom; Georgia Art. I think it would have the word pottery on it. If there was room, but this is just a guess. The glaze on this piece is a shiny dark brown. The handle is nicely applied to the body of the jug. This small piece is just over 2 inches high. I do not know when this piece was made, I have had it for 15 or 20 years. I buy many items from estates, so it could be quite old. I would guess that it is from the mid 1900's. No chips or cracks. Vy Old Vintage Antique Primitive Southern Pottery Crock Jug Milk Jar Alabama Ga
Found yesterday at the Summerville flea market. And were told it had original roots in the Lookout Valley area of Chattanooga. Our best guess puts it as an Alabama or more likely Georgia piece, based on the redness of the smooth ground bottom. It is an almost salmon-red, so Alabama is still an option though, in our opinion. condition is terrific, with only a couple extremely minor nicks around the spout, all shown up close in the photos. No cracks or hairlines of other issues, and you could fill this one to the rim and throw it right over your shoulder-SOLID! Measures about 12 3/4" high, and appears unmarked. Any help is welcome and appreciated. Lovely aesthetic decoration with its all over design, geometric patterns, flowers, even a little bug and vignettes. This jug has a vignette with two hunting dogs, one with a windmill and one with a swan. It is unmarked. It measures 5-3/4" tall and 4-1/2" from handle to spout.
